Advantages: Organised Aisles
Disadvantages: Expensive
WhSmith is a shop that sells a range of goods: Magazines, Stationary, Books, Dvds, CDs, Games, Cards, Gifts and some toys.
Most of the WhSmith shops that i have been to, are tidy, and aisles are very well organised. I can easily find something that i am looking for. However, the price is steep and i would not consider buying anything here which i can buy elsewhere.
All media are all RRP retail price, with little or no discount, ever.
Some books have 3 for 2 or seasonal discounts.
The WHSmith Card that was once available for shoppers to collect points and get discounts is now GONE which meant that all those years of collecting is wasted.
My shopping experience with WhSmith is so-so, they are too expensive and the quality is only slightly better than other stores. I do not recommend shopping here unless it is a must, or you are just going to read a magazine or a book.
Summary: Avoid unless it is a must

- 11/05/09 The card was never very good anyway - nothing compared to say a Boots Advantage Card in terms of what you could collect. |

- 11/05/09 The clubcard has been replaced by the premier club voucers etc are sent by e-mail. I admit I prefered the club card but luckily I spent my points when I saw the notice in my local store that it had ended. Although surely a letter could have been sent to all card holders by them. |
