Advantages: fast effective relief
Disadvantages: some may need the stronger version
Over the last couple of years, i like many people have developed a touch of hay fever. Whatever the reason for this increase in hay fever sufferers, an effective remedy is in demand.
Mine wasn't a particularly strong case with symptoms manifesting themselves in the form of a mild early morning sniffle and not much else.
However, last year i got contact lenses, and since then, come hay fever season i've been prone to itchy eyes. I decided that enough was enough and turned to Benadryl for help.
As the box proudly advertises, one benadryl tablet takes effect withing 15 minutes and can last up to 8 hours.
It provides relief from allergy symptoms (including hay fever) and the effects of urticaria (hives and itchy rashes) and retails at approx £3.99 for 12 tablets.
Each capsule contains 8 mg of Acrivastine, but it also contains Lactose, so intolerents beware!
Easily taken with water, the capsule is quite small, each tablet being about 1cm long and can be taken 3 times per 24 hours, but PLEASE CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST BEFORE TAKING IF YOU ARE PREGNANT.
Anyone who suffers badly with allergies may need to take a stronger variety of this, but for me, an occasional sufferer in need of temporary relief, this does the trick nicely. Thank you Benadryl.
Summary: quality medicine if a little expensive
