There are not many things that you can give to both a 4 month old and a 99 year old but Bonjela is one item you can.

What is bonjela

Bonjela is a fast acting gel for teething and mouth ulcers, denture sore spots and cold sores.

It reduces the the inflamation and helps fight infection.

Ingredients

choline salicylate 8.71%, ethanol 33.45% glycerol, menthol, hypromellose 4500, anise oil, sodium saccharin and water.

What can you use it on

Bonjela will ease the pain and inflamation and fight infection in teething, mouth ulcers, denture sore spots and on cold sores.

Directions

Children as young as 4 months can use this but not younger. Using a clean finger although that should be obvious, massage approximately one half of a centimetre of bonjela onto the sore area. You can reapeat this after 3 hours but no more than 6 doses in 24 hours.

For Adults the directions are exactly the same but you must leave your dentures out after using this for at least 30 minutes afterwards.

Bonjela comes in a blue box, inside is a tube 4" long and 1" wide. The screw top unscrews and you use the spike inside to pierce open the tube.

The gel is pure white and quite thick but easily manageable.

If you can remember aniseed balls that you had as children this is what it smells faintly of. The taste is very difficult to explain. You can feel it getting warmer on your gum and it is not an unpleasant taste though.

Summary

Usually one application is enough to make it work.

I used this on my children and now my children are using it for theirs when teething and I wouldn't be surprised if they dont use it on me when I am 99!

When a child is teething this really is a blessing.

Therefore I definitely would recommend this and a definate item to keep in your medicine box.
