Advantages: Soothes pain almost instantly, fights infection, lasts a long time

Disadvantages: Tastes horrid!

Bonjela is a must have for any first aid box! For 15g it costs around £2.50. It is used to soothe mouth ulcers or sore spots in the mouth and fight any infection present.

The outer packaging is a deep blue cardboard box with "Bonjela" written in white in the middle adding contrast, which does look very attractive, and as it's made of cardboard, it can be recycled. Inside the box are instructions for use and the tube of Bonjela itself, which is also blue in colour with a white lid.

The product is simple to use, but is no longer suitable for children under the age of 16, apparently. In short, all you need to do is massage Bonjela into the sore spot/mouth ulcer. It doesn't taste pleasant at all, in fact quite disgusting (although, if the taste bothers you too much you can get "Bonjela Cool" instead, which is mint flavoured and does taste marginally better), but it really does soothe the pain of mouth ulcers. At first it stings, but within around a minute the pain goes. Also, comparing using Bonjela to letting the mouth ulcer disappear naturally, Bonjela does help the mouth ulcers to clear quicker - so it must also do a good job at fighting the infection.

The tube is quite small at only 15g, but it does last a long time and you only need to use it a few times for each mouth ulcer/sore spot.

In conclusion, I would recommend this product as it is not too expensive, lasts a long time and really does relieve pain and fight infection in mouth ulcers and sore spots.

Summary: Ignore the taste and it's a great product!
