Advantages: Seems to work very quickly

Disadvantages: I want to taste it too.

My daughter is just starting teething and is gnawing on everything in site and dribbling everywhere, so much so that we are in need of plastic backed all-over bodysuits not bibs. The other night her gums were very pink and she was very unhappy and I remembered buying some Bonjela when I was pregnant to put away for her. Here's our experience of Bonjela...

Packaging
*********
I wasn't really bothered about studying the packaging whilst she was suffering only the instructions for use but as soon as she was in bed I actually sat down to read the packaging.

Bonjela still comes in the same dark blue cardboard packaging that I remember from when I was a child. The packaging is very simple and to the point. bonjela - Fast acting gel for teething and mouth ulcers. Says it all really doesn't it?!

On the back of the packaging there is basic instructions for use. Basically it is for use on babies over four months and works on adults too.

First Impressions
*****************
Bonjela is a clear gel that smells and tastes a little aniseedy. It was very easy to squeeze a pea sized ammount onto the end of my finger and to apply it to my daughters gums. She seemed to like the taste and it definetly took her mind off her sore gums enough to go to sleep

Side Effects
************
Although I didn't notice any side effects with my daughter or myself apparently bonjela can cause asthma attacks in people who are sensitive to salicylates.

Overall Conclusion
******************
I found bonjela to work quickly and effectively and to elieviate any pain my daughter was in and we had a peaceful night. She now has two teeth and there has only been one night so far where the Bonjela hasn't worked. So far so good.

Cost
****
I believe it was 1.99GBP from Boots for a 15g tube.

Hope this was helpful,

Lex xxx

SHort and sweet, and you sumit up perfectly. Personally, if Bonjela doesnt work than whisky rubbed on the gums is excellent.

And Bah to all the people who are going to rate you U becasue its so short! Quality not Quantity!!

I've used it myself in the past when I've had toothache and couldn't get to the dentist - it works a treat! Like Emma1973's whisky idea too though! Great op.

Ziggy.
