The other morning I woke up with such a sore head, throat and I just couldn't stop coughing. The more I coughed the more my head and throat hurt the more my throat hurt the more I kept clutching my chest...I was in such a mess and was so sick all over the place so in the end as I felt so rough my friend whizzed down to the shops to see what she could get me to try and help. She came back with a bottle of this. At a pound a bottle in our local Lloyds chemist I didn't hold out much hope for it but after she had a brief chat about me to the pharmacist this seemed to be not only my cheapest option but safest too as I have a few health problems such as epilepsy, an ... This review discusses the Care + Simple Linctus Paediatric which is aimed at children. Simple Linctus claims to soothe and give relief of dry throats and coughs. This Care + one is no exception. Its ingredients include citric acid monohydrate and also sucrose, ethanol and glycerol. Strangely enough there is also 1.5% alcohol within each 5ml spoonful. ~~~Dosage~~~ Simple Linctus Paediatric can be taken by children over the age of 1 and if problems persist for more than 5days, a doctor should be consulted. The linctus has to be taken orally either with a spoon or syringe and in the following doses : Aged 1 - 5 : 1 x 5ml ... Read the complete review

When it comes to cheap and cheerful traditional medicines I try to look for either Pharmacies' own brands such as Boots, Co-Op, Lloyds Pharmacy or supermarket's own brands if I'm shopping about. Rather than pay through the nose for a chemically additive based medicine, I tend to trust old faithful medicines and what has been passed down to me as a child. Generally for example I prefer the Care Plus brand which can usually be found sometimes at Semi Chem or Co-Op Pharmacies and at £1-49 for usual starter prices for 150 ml to 200 ml medicines, the prices are relatively cheap and ranges are widely available. After the summer months I have developed a loose ... Read the complete review

Over the last week my little boy has had a bit of a cold and a cough, mainly during the night. I picked this up from Lloyds pharmacy for £1.49 for a 200ml bottle which I think is really good value for money. It provides relief for a child's cough and is suitable for children over 1 year old. The packaging. The medicine comes in a 200ml sized brown glass bottle with a white plastic screw top (which is also child safe) You can see the amount of medicine in the bottle so can see when you have nearly run out. On the front is a picture of a small child being given some medicine on a spoon. At the side of the picture is the brand logo 'Care +' and underneath it ... Read the complete review

WHAT IS IT? A bottle of Simple Linctus Paediatric cough medicine for children who are 1 year and over. It says on the bottle that it is for dry irritating coughs. HOW DO YOU USE IT? Look on the bottle for your childs age and give them how many 5ml spoons of medicine that it says. I bought it for my 7 year old daughter and she has to have 2 spoons. You should give only 4 doses every day. DOES IT WORK? I do not think this cough medicine works very well and I only bought it because my friend made me feel bad about my daughters cough. In Italy we do not give children pharmaceutical cough remedy and use only ... Read the complete review
