We were struggling with our first baby who has bad colic. Due to the pain he wanted to breastfeed constantly which probably made matters worse and of course knackered me. Our health visitor mentioned that some of her Mums had used Colief with some success unlike other brands which were next to useless. We were warned of the expense and at £9.99 a bottle it's not cheap but worth every penny despite what i am about to say...... It's a bit time consuming if you're using on a breastfed baby as you have to express some milk first (to be spoon fed) and add 4 drops to it per feed. I found it easier to express once a day and keep a supply in the fridge. As for expense.....well, . Read the complete review

Although my baby doesn't suffer from full blown colic, she does seem to have very colicky spells, where she can cry sore for half and hour to an hour and nothing will comfort her. I have now exhausted all available remedies on the market, starting with infacol up to this latest attempt at relieving some of the pain that my daughter is obviously in, by using these colief drops, which claim to 'reduce the hours of crying'. Now, one of the major drawbacks of this product right from the beginning is its cost. At around £11 for a tiny tiny bottle it is vastly overpriced in comparison to the likes of INfacol and Dentinox, however a friend had advised me that she ... Read the complete review

I really despise these drops and the way they are marketed. Firstly, Colief is targeted at parents whose babies have colic. Now if you have never been through this, you will have no idea what it is like to have to listen to your newborn child scream seemingly in unbearable agony for hours on end. You will be beside yourself, distressed and wishing you could make life happier for them. You will be desperate for something, anything, that might help. So you try Infacol. What if that doesn't work? You hold on until LO is a month old then you try gripe water. Or in the meantime you fork out £60 a week for the twice-weekly chiropractic or cranial osteopathic ... My son has suffered with colic from the age of 3 weeks, we tried all the usual treatments, Infacol, gripe water, Dentinox, and we changed his milk to Aptamil easy digest, all with no improvement. My health visitor then suggested that I try Colief drops, I was at my wits end so would have tried anything that may have helped to stop the endless screaming and to ease my poor boy's pain. My first negative thought was that they were very expensive, they cost £10 for the tiniest bottle you have ever seen, but I didn't care how much they cost as long as they helped my son. My second negative thought after reading the full instructions were how ... Read the complete review

We had this reccommended to us by a friend who said that it was very expensive but she would have paid £100 a bottle as it was a miracle cure. With my first son he had never had colic but this time around my 2nd son was showing all the classic signs of colic, the screaching, pulling the knees up etc so i thought right lets give this stuff a go as it was heart breaking watching him wriggling around like he was..... Colief has an enzyme in it that is naturally in the body but due to babies not having a mature digestive system until at least 3 months they have the problems digesting the lactose therefore causing the babies to suffer from colic.
