Advantages: Very effective
Disadvantages: Stomache ache
I am not sure whether it is because I have changed brands of food (as we all know I am on a tesco econemy drive) or if it is because I am eating so much, so I can review the products.
Anyway found myself with the problem of not going for about 3 days, so I needed an end to this problem (oh, I hate writing this review).
I popped into my local chemist, and never having experienced this problem before, I found myself going all red and whispering to the shop assistant about where I could find the products were I needed. The assistant immadately shouted over the shop floor to another colleague(I had passed out by this point).
Anyway finding the shelf I wanted with bottles and packets and pills (I never knew this much stuff existed) I saw Ducolax which were on special offer (how I never know) for £1.50 (usually retail at £3.69) and in a pack of 40 capsuals so I thought it worked out a bit of a bargain (you will never need 40 capsules in your life).
The packet is white and green with Ducolax written on the box in big letters and Relief from constipation underneath, and amount of capsules in the box. On the back of the box there is the standard directions for taking the tablets - dose - age suitable for etc, and the contact address. Inside the box is the tablets in two strips and the tablets are small, round and a orange colour, you pop the tablets through the foil.
So I go home and that night before I went to bed I took one of the tablets, well I get up all nice and early and my stomache feels like it is being punched and pulsating inside, I am thinking urgent need and I must go. My partner who had also got up was in the bathroom having a shower so you know what thats like. I start nagging him and nagging and nagging, until he finally gets out the shower. Once he is out I pushed him that fast out the bathroom he nearly fell down the stairs, as I launched myself in.
Well all I have to say to conclude this is that I thought my insides were going to come out, and the packet says you can take 2 (there would never be a need).
Would I use these again - absolutely not, not unless I had not been for 3 months. They are far too strong, which I suppose if you suffer from constipation can be great, but if you do not - avoid like the plague.
They done the job but the stomach ache that was caused was not good.
I am going to have to give these 3 stars just because they were so effective though.
Summary: Use only if you have been constipated for 3 months, and NEVER take 2

- 15/07/09 Kim I agree on the Dulcolax tablets.
Dulco lax Perles are different, they absolutely do not cause any discomfort, different formulation.
I have found they work very well with the only side effect being gurgles and rumbles and a sometimes sudden urge. |

- 09/06/09 Good review - I've had the same experience and I've been warning people off Dulcolax products ever since! Only thing I can add is that the Dulcolax suppositories are worse because they make you feel like you're s.hi.tt.ing chilli sauce! |
