Advantages: Simple pain relief
Disadvantages: Not having a couple of days off the housework
Feminax Ultra - simple pain relief for women.
For years I have experienced menstrual cramps during my period. I would regularly buy boxes of paracetamol and neurofen curl up on the sofa with a hot water bottle and a pot of tea feeling pretty crap. It did get to a stage when I started taking time off work due to the pain and when I was at work I would be overemotional, unable to concentrate because of the pain. The hubby would recognise the signs and say 'oh the painters are in I am going to play football'. Oh yes I was that bad to be around.
During a trip to the chemist, I started chatting to the pharmacist who suggested that I tried Feminax. I ended up buying Feminax Ultra, which contains Naproxen. To be honest I chucked them in a draw thinking I had brought another product, which would not be any good.
Three weeks later, I was looking for something to ease my period pains with no paracetamol or neurofen in the house I took two Feminax Ultra. I was amazed that within an hour the cramping and pains had subsided and did not have the 'I want to be alone' feeling, which I usually get at that time of the month. With with the pain subsiding my emotional state was better and I could concentrate better and carried on with my daily chores as usual.
It was not until I woke up the following day that I found I needed a third tablet and was surprised at the longevity of this painkiller as I needed no more than three tablets in total during my period. Whereas, with other painkillers I had taken upto 8 tablets a day for three or four days. But recongise that everyone is different and you should read the instructions for the recommended doseages.
I have now been using Feminax Ultra for four months, the hubby has mentioned that I am better to be around 'when the painters are in!'. This little blue box now has a place reserved in my medicine cabinet, and at that time of the month I will not be without it.
For me this product has worked well and I hope it does for you. I would recommend that you read the instructions to ensure that it is suited to you.
So a little bit about it .....

- 03/02/09 Glad its work out for you. I have actually been prescribed Naproxen from my gp its 500mg tablets which I can only take only 1-2 a day. I only use it when I am really desperate. It worked fantastic the first time only needed it for one day but month after month I'v noticed its not working as well, I was still in so much pain after I took my recommended doses for the day. |
