I am lucky that I don't really suffer severe cramps and pains every month but like most women I get the odd day when I am on my period where I do suffer some discomfort and having a low threshold for pain especially when I am not feeling my best anyway I usually take something for it.

I used to always but Feminax express for my periods to help me when cramps and pains struck until I saw a documentary on television that showed me just how much of a waste of money they were. Basically all they are is ibuprofen which I can buy in Tesco for only 50p a pack as opposed to £4.00.

Although I swore I wouldn't waste money buying them again cramps struck me once when I was at my sisters and she gave me some Feminax Ultra and I was surprised that as well as helping relieve the pain these ones actually also helped ease the cramps in my stomach. I checked the box and saw that they had a different ingredient and I was impressed enough that I bought myself some.

You take two Feminax Ultra tablets as soon as cramps start and then another one 6 to 8 hours later if needed and then another one every day until the cramps stop.

I find that these really do help with the cramps by reducing the amount of spasms that I have and by really stopping my stomach from hurting so much. If I only have a little pain I stick with ibuprofen but for sore stomach cramps I use these as they are much stronger and better for the actual cramps. They are quite expensive at £4 for a pack of 9 but as I only need to take them occasionally they tend to last me for a month or two.
