Gaviscon is a great remedy for heartburn and acid reflux, which I suffer from on a regular basis. You can buy Gaviscon in various sized bottles. I opt for the larger sized bottle as it lasts throughout the year. It keeps well too. The liquid is pink in colour and quite thick in consistency. I pour a small amount (around five ml) onto a teaspoon and swallow it. If my heartburn isn't too bad I take a couple of spoonfuls. However, if my heartburn is really bad I take around four spoonfuls. Gaviscon Original. I have a botle of Gaviscon available in my fridge for the first sign I get of indigestion, or heartburn, or acid reflux which I suffer from, certain foods can unfortunately set this off, as soon as i get a hint that I am starting to suffer with indegistion, or that horrible acid reflux I reach for this product and take initially two 5mls spoonfulls of this liquid, if it persists for a further half hour I take another couple of spoon fulls. WHAT IS IT? A thick liquid intended for the relief of heartburn and acid indigestion. The one I am reviewing is the Original Aniseed version and I buy this one because I think it's slightly more effective than the mint version. HOW DO YOU USE IT? You should take 1 - 2 5ml spoons at the beginning of a heartburn attack but I am suffering from bad heartburn now that I am in my last month of pregnancy so am taking more than this. I'm not confessing to being addicted to this as i'm not, but due to a few prescribed medicines i am limited to what i can and can't have. Gaviscon is one i can and so I have taken in for a few complaints just to see if it helps. Heartburn is just one of the things i find it alleviates. I have taken it for tummy ache, indegestions, overcomsumption and anything that has plagued me to do with the digestive system It works every time. I have to say it's not pleasant to take as the liquid is thick and powdery and once in my mouth i have to force myslf to swallow.
