Advantages: They work, easy to chew and take

Disadvantages: Chalky taste

Up until recently I have never really suffered from heartburn or indigestion or anything like that. However lately I have been eating out a lot, having a lot of takeaways and really eating at the wrong time. I could of course change my diet to eating food less likely to give me heartburn or eat well before sleeping and so on but with all the best intentions in the world its never gonna happen!

The other day I had hicups that pretty much lasted 24 hours, then it was followed by really bad heart burn. The heart burn would settle itself down for a bit, then I'd get hicups and then the cycle just continued and I was doing my own head really in.

I bought these whilst in my town centre, still with said heart burn and unable to speak cos of the hicups I was trying to silently get on with and I bought these in Poundland for of course a pound and I got a box of 8 of them.

The Packgaing:

The box is oblong, mainly a dark turquopise colour with what appears to be an outline of a man with flames in his chest and we are told that they are 8 chewable Tablets, Gaviscon Peppermint Flavour Tablets 'Sodium Alginate, Sodium hydrogen carbonate, Calcium carbonate 'Fast soothing relief, long lasting' and that they are indeed for the relief of hearburn & indigestion. Other information on the back of the box includes being told a bit about how they work, what are in them, dosage advice is given (Take two to four tablets after meals and bedtime for over 12 years only) and contact details for the manufacturer are given. Inside the box there is a leaflet giving yet more informration about the tablets and so on and in my box of 8 tablets I got a see through and silver backed tray to pop the tablets with ease out of. Nice enough packaging, informative enough and the tray is easy to press the tablets out of.

The Tablets:

I am so glad that I found these! Over the past few days I have had heart burn on and off, especially after eating spicy foods and all it takes for me per dose to get rid of the heartburn is 2 small white peppermint smelling tablets. I chew them up, they taste a bit minty and chalky and within a couple of minutes my heartburn just goes! On the day I was in town that I bought these I was in a lot of pain and like I say I had hicups so bad and I was really down with them, again a couple of these got rid of both of those problems just after a couple of minutes of having them.

The only issues I have with these is that if you have to take 4 of them every time you get indigestion or heartburn then they will work out expensive, after all I was lucky to find mine in a Poundshop however I find them to be really, really effective for me and I like the fact I can pop a box in my handbag and take them on the go so great for people who travel and so on.

A very good buy and they get a big thumbs up from me, just wish they didn't taste quite so chalky but I guess thats whats makes them work so well lol.

Available in all good chemists and supermarkets.
