Advantages: Good dropper system, nice taste
Disadvantages: Thick and sticky, expensive
*What is Infacol? Infacol is a thick orange flavoured liquid, which contains an active ingredient called simethicone. It contains no alcohol, sugar or colourants. *How does it work? The active ingredient in Infacol is an antiflactulent, which basically means that it joins together the tiny bubbles of air in your babies tummy that are causing them pain. These joined up bubbles are then bigger and easier for your baby to burp. *How do I use it? You can use Infacol in a newborn baby. To get the correct dose you shake the bottle, then squeeze the enclosed dropper twice in the liquid to load the dose, then squirt it on the back of your babies tongue. You do this before every feed. You can increase the dose to two droppers if you see no improvement. Using it regularly allows it to work to its full potential; it won't work as well as it can till you've used it for several days. I would advise having a towel to hand as it can make your baby sick, although this doesn't happen very often. *Benefits Most babies like the orange taste. The dropper helps measure the dose and deliver it. You can get it on prescription. Plastic bottle hard to knock over and light and easy to travel with. Can be used from birth. *Drawbacks Doesn't work for all babies, and finding out is trial and error. One of the more expensive makes. My baby finds the sticky liquid quite hard to swallow.
