Joy-Rides: The joy of not having travel sickness! (651 words)
by - written on 26/02/13 (Very useful, 95 readings)
Rating:

I have suffered from travel sickness for quite a while, but have managed to control it by eating before travelling and taking a Boots Travel Calm tablet before a long journey. Prior to my last holiday, I realised I had run out of my trusted Travel Calm tablets so headed to Boots to get some more. The pharmacist I spoke to said they were having trouble getting the Travel Calms but she had something 'exactly the same' so I said I'd take them without querying any further. I admit, I presumed that they would just be the branded version (whatever that is) of the Boots tablets. When I got home and took these out of the bag, I was surprised to see they were called ...  Read the complete review

I always find that on long journeys I constantly get travel sick, particularly if I am in a minibus or an aeroplane. As I am going to be going on holiday in a few weeks, I remembered that I needed to buy some travel sickness tablets and remembered that I had purchased these particular tablets for my holiday last year and they worked so well I have decided to buy them again. I purchased a box of 12 tablets from Superdrug for £2.74. These were the cheapest tablets that the store sold as I had previously seen other travel sickness tablets being sold between £4-£10 and so I felt that this was a very good price. The packaging is a coloured in light ...  Read the complete review

Joy-Rides: Take the kids out for a Joy-Ride! (769 words)
by - written on 21/07/10, updated on  30/03/12 (Very useful, 411 readings)
Rating:

My youngest son has always been a little prone to sickness when travelling in the car, particularly in the mornings if he hasn't had time to digest his breakfast properly. More recently, our seven year old has also started to complain about feeling sick and queasy during long car journeys although he isn't actually physically sick. I'm inclined to be cynical, in all honesty, and put my oldest son's complaints down to boredom as much as anything, but my husband experienced travel sickness himself as a youngster so he is inclined to be more sympathetic. When planning our recent trip to Butlins (which is about 120 miles away) he decided to purchase some travel ...  Read the complete review

Motion sickness is a horrible thing to suffer and one i have suffered since i was a young child. Luckily my girls love being in the car and have never suffered travel sickness. I only suffer with it if i am a passenger im fine if i am the one driving. My partner also suffers motion sickness but only if he is on a boat, even if the water is calm he can still be seen hanging over the edge chucking his load up yuk. I have used joy-ride sickness pills since i was about eight years old so have been around for a long time as now i am 29. I always have a packet stashed in my handbag or in the first aid box but run out a few weeks ago so the joy-rides were on my ...  Read the complete review

Joy-Rides: THE JOYS OF TRAVEL AND SICKNESS! (208 words)
by - written on 28/10/10 (Useful, 84 readings)
Rating:

For me travelling with my daughter used to be a nightmare as she was too young for any travel sick medicines available, and I had to revert to flat lemonade and a ginger biscuits, a bit hit and miss really but better than nothing. When she was old enough for over the counter travel sick pills I tried her with Joy-Rides £2.49 from Vantage chemists, and what a god-send they are! For children 3-4 years half a tablet to be taken around 20 minutes before the journey, 4-7 years may have 1 tablet and 7 years upwards 1-2 tablets. As I suffer from travel sickness myself I was interested to see if they worked so I also tried one myself. I found I had no sickness feelings at ...  Read the complete review
