I'm not a moaner when I'm ill, because I'm female, but the one thing I can't stand is a blocked up nose especially at night when I'm trying to get to sleep and then when I do doze off I jerk myself awake in panic at not being able to breathe right! Vick makes me heave so when I had a cold last month I brought a box of Karvol capsules because I remember my mum using them on me when I was little. You get 10 in a box and I paid £2.25 for them in Knights chemist, they might be a bit cheaper in the supermarket though. The capsules are made of a rubbery material and you have to cut the top of and squeeze the liquid inside onto your pillow or ... Read the complete review

Why we tried these ******************** When my son had his first cold I turned to family and friends for advice as to how to help him breath better especially at night as he would often cough himself awake. One of the bits of advice was from my sister in law who said to try the Karvol capsules as she put these on my niece's gro bag and this seemed to help her so off I went to Boots to give these a go What are they? ******************* "Karvol Decongestant Capsules have a vapour action and help relieve blocked noses due to colds in the head. They can be used for children from 3 months old." Each capsule contains a measured ... Read the complete review

As its now the time of year that everyone feels rubbish with blocked noses and colds I am going to review something that I can only describe as a god send. As I have two young daughters that are forever getting coughs and colds I needed to find a product that would ease their blocked nose and help then sleep at night. I find it extremely annoying that they were forever waking in the early hours as they could not breath properly and felt the need to scream the house down to let me know. I was out shopping a few moths back when I can across the Karvol decongestant capsules. I remembered these from when I was younger as my mum used to use these for ... Read the complete review

'Tis the season of stuffy noses and congested chests and there's no feeling that makes little one's feel quite so miserable - especially at night. As the mum of a toddler I feel quite powerless in the face of a cold when my son is suffering. Although quite adept at blowing his nose he's not yet at an age where reason wins through. Waking up finding it hard to breathe is distressing and results in disturbed nights for both him and me. As a child I recall being treated with hot Vicks rub (melted in boiling water) or Friar's Balsam but I think I was older than my son is now. Karvol capsules provide an acceptable half-way house and do seem to work to ... Read the complete review

I recently purchased Karvol Decongestant Capsules on the recommendation of a friend when my son developed a cold. He was finding it hard to breath when in bed, which caused him to have very poor sleep. As soon as I snipped the top of the capsule with scissors and got a whiff, I was immediately transported back to my own childhood. It has a kind of menthol, antiseptic smell, lovely!. Speaking to my Mum, she told me I used to ask her to put some on my pillow, even when I didn't have a cold (I never claimed to be normal now did I?). Anyway, back to modern day life. I squeezed the contents out onto a muslin and placed it at the top of a cot, out of reach. He seemed to ... Read the complete review
