Advantages: clears decongested and blocked up noses
Disadvantages: quite expensive in capsule form
I can remember as a child really loving the smell of Karvol, and when Jack gets the snuffles its the first thing I reach for. I know that buying them in capsule form are more expensive than in the small bottle, but feel for convenience sake its easier, plus also I feel that once the bottle is opened it tends to loose its strength, and most of it ends up on the outside of the bottle anyway.
It helps to clear blocked up noses and congestion which can lead to un-settled nights (And we all know about that !) Each capsule contains aromatic oils - pine, cinnamon and menthol and the vapours help your baby/child breathe more easily. They can be used from 3 months and each capsule contains the right dose. I just cut off the top of the capsule, and squeeze the contents onto a piece of muslin which is secured near by, but out of the reach of Jack. Once older or even for adults they can be squeezed onto bedding, or into a pint of hot water and inhaled. The first packet I bought was small and had 10 capsules in and the last packet I bought has got 20.
I keep using them for as long as Jack is congested and will always have them in my medicine cupboard.
