Get a Good Nights Sleep (Karvol Vaporiser)

Advantages: It really works!

Disadvantages: A bit pricey

My baby girl is 11 months old and is currently full of cold she has been struggling to sleep the past few nights with having a blocked up nose and is therefore waking me up around 5 times a night! We have tried the rub on creams and the Karvol drops on a tissue but the problem with these is that they don't last a full night.
So off I went to boots in search of something better and came across the plug in vaporisers, on the shelf there were two for me to choose from, Calpol and Karvol and I decided on the Karvol one because even though it was slightly more expensive and came with only 3 refills instead of the 5 Calpol came with it does say that the refills last 3 nights each but Calpol were only 8 hours each.

++ Price ++

I bought this from Boots at £6.39 with 3 refills included in the pack which as I said each last 3nights according to the box. The refill packs also come in packs of 3 and cost £5.49 from boots.
I do think the price is a bit expensive and was therefore a bit unsure about buying it but I really need my sleep so thought I would just have to go for it!

++ What does it do? ++

The Karvol vaporiser is plugged into a socket and when the socket is turned on it releases constant vapours to help you breathe easier.
It can be used from 3 months of age and is for children and adults.

++ The Box ++

Inside the box is the plug in part and the 3 refills. The instructions were in 5 easy to follow steps on the back of the box.
Also on the box is a brief description of what it is and how long the refills last and that Karvol also sell other products which are available in shops. There is also a list of precautions which on reading all seem normal and in line with an electric product, it does also state that when the vaporiser isn't in use that it needs to be removed from the socket and stored in its box. It does however have a locking mechanism so a child is unable to get into it if you had left it plugged in which is a nice safety feature.

++ How do you use it? ++

Step 1 - Push the key end of the refill pack into the slots on the rear of the vaporiser to unlock it.
Step 2 - Open the vaporiser cover
Step 3 - Slide the refill into the vaporiser - refer to the refill pack for a diagram on how it goes in.
Step 4 -Close the cover making sure the catches click to lock
Step 5 - Plug in the unit and switch the socket on. It takes around 1.2 and hour for the vapours to take their full effect.
It also states that for the best effects to leave windows and doors closed so the vapours can't escape.

++ Does it work? ++

Well in my experience last night it does! My daughter didn't wake up once and she does still have a blocked up nose so she definitely isn't better yet so I am very pleased and feeling a lot less tired this morning which is a very good thing, she also looks a lot less tired today since she has had a full night's sleep.

I am very pleased I bought the vaporiser, even though at 1st I thought it was a little expensive, especially for the refill packs it is most definitely worth it for me and my baby to get a full night's sleep I do recommend it.
