Night Nurse Liquid
This product retails for around £6 per bottle, it is also available in capsule form but I find the liquid the most effective.
Night Nurse is specially designed to treat the symptoms of colds and flu. It is designed to be taken at night only.
It contains Paracetamol, promethazine hydrochloride, and dextromethorphan hydro bromide as the active ingredients.
A side effect of one of the ingredients is to cause drowsiness. This is obviously a benefit for a medicine designed to be taken at night, it helps you get to sleep (not always easy with a blocked nose, cough and sore throat) and also helps prevent you waking up coughing etc. For me, when I am unwell with a cold or flu, one of the worse symptoms is getting to sleep then waking up coughing and spluttering. The knock on effect is that the more interrupted your sleep, the less rested you feel the next day. getting a decent nights sleep goes a long way to helping you beat that cold in my opinion.
This doesn't taste nice, it is thick and bright green and tastes like medicine, pretty much what you would expect. I find that very soon after taking it, I feel drowsy and am soon able to drop off. This of course is why this medicine is so effective.
I don't find any after effects the next day, it doesn't make me groggy or drowsy when I wake up, in fact, it generally allows me to awake feeling better than the day before, due to a good nights sleep.
Highly recommend this stuff. It is a definite bonus in the fight against colds and flu. Worth having a bottle in the cupboard as an emergency stash for when you need it.
Summary: Get some now!
