I have been a poor sleeper all my life. I would like to take this opportunity to say sorry to my Mother for having to put up with me. - especially as a 12 year old, when I suffered severe insomnia, dropping to sleep at about 5am each night/morning. In those days, there was no such thing as all-night TV, so I had nothing to occupy myself during my midnight hours, so my poor Mother heard more than her fair share of "Muuuum, I can't sleep. Muuuuum I still can't sleep". Eventually, my GP put me on sleeping pills (at the age of 12!!!) which caused different problems, and as a result, I have seen sleeping pills as the very last resort ever since. I ... I'd never tried any kind of sleeping aid, herbal or otherwise, before but when I had a spell of insomnia a few months ago my mum bought me some of these tablets to try. It wasn't that I couldn't sleep, I'd eventually manage to go to sleep at around 2 or 3 in the morning but I would be restless all night and feel terrible in the morning. These were herbal tablets so I figured I would try them for one night and see what happened. The main ingredients are hops, valerian and passion flower which are supposed to help calm you down and promote a restful sleep. The dose for adults over the age of 12 is two tablets around an hour before bedtime so I ... Read the complete review

I wouldn't normally touch this sort of thing with a barge pole. No, my preference would be to fall asleep when I felt like it and wake up when I felt like it. But amongst other things, by law my child has to be at school, and at a set time of the morning. 8.55am to be exact. (What a stupid time, why not just round it off to 9.00? Tsk!) So it means I have to conform to "the system" to a degree. So I need to get my sleep! I have never been good at sleeping. Don't get me wrong, when I'm asleep I can stay asleep, but falling asleep is difficult especially when I have a "set bedtime". I have always preferred working the late shift or taking classes that ... Read the complete review

It's like this you see - I lost my mom to dementia in April of this year, my husband (an IT contractor with his own company) is having difficulty finding another contract and I have started a part time job merchandising where my boss only seems to concentrate on the rare things that I do wrong! Now, if this isn't a recipe for sleepless nights I don't know what is. Some nights I can't get to sleep, some nights I go to sleep quickly and then wake up early only to lie awake and some nights I sleep better but have troubled dreams. This is something unusual for me as I have always managed to sleep well even when I do have troubles and ... Read the complete review

So after a few restless nights where I was going to bed at around 5am because I just couldn't sleep I thought about looking for a sleep aid and looked for a product in my local asda. I was stuck between a choice of kalms sleeping tablets and nytol herbal tablets. Having experienced kalms in the normal form and having had little results I decided to try the nytol herbal tablets. These were most costly being priced at £4.83 in asda so I thought well I'll just give it a try and see what happens. ***Product Description*** The nytol herbal tablets come in a green cardboard box containing 30 tablets. There is a nice illustration of a cloud and a moon which ... Read the complete review
