I often have problems sleeping, and whilst it's not always a big problem, it sometimes means I end up going to work a 12 hour shift having had no sleep at all. So, getting a little fed up with it, I decided to try these tablets. They cost £4.89 for 16 tablets in Boots. These are classed as a pharmacy medicine, so you can only buy them over the counter at chemists, not straight off the shelves. These are antihistamine tablets which cause sleepiness or drowsiness and are used to help relieve temporary sleeping difficulties. They are suitable for use by adults and children over 16 years. It also states on the pack that this is only suitable for occasional use and ... Read the complete review

Nytol one a night contains 16 tablets and their active ingredient is 50mg of Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride, this drug is primarily a antihisamine ie. used to treat allergic reactions to dust, pollen etc. but the side effect of it is to sedate and therefore it is used to treat temporary sleep disturbances. You will need to ask at the chemist counter for these tablets as they regulate who they give them to. I am always asked by the assistant if they are for myself, if i have been using them for long. They will also ask if you suffer from any of the conditions I will list below. They are very simple to use, you just swallow one tablet 20 minutes ... Read the complete review

I bought these Nytol tablets as I always have trouble sleeping - as soon as I go to bed I seem to 'wake up'. Having tried the other suggestions made in articles and on TV - you know, the Horlicks, the warm bath, the mild exercise etc etc with no success I had a look in Boots. These are a pharmaceutical product so are kept behind the counter. I guess they have to be (as they should not be given to children) but it means everyone in the store knows you have problems sleeping. The pack of sixteen cost £4.89 which I didn't think was cheap - but how much is a good night's sleep worth??!! It states on the pack that they are ... Read the complete review

well, it does help. I have insomnia, I find it near impossible to sleep before 4am, and have not gone to sleep before 3 am in the past 4 years. I took this about 6 years ago and at the time, it did help me settle and I was able to sleep. But, I did wakeup groggy, sometimes missing my alarm and causing more problems later. Also, they were beginning to not work as after a week, I think if I had taken more per night, they would have worked again. I took all of one pack wich lasted me about 2 weeks in all (not one every single night at first), and then decided I needed to stop takieng it, I was advised not to take it for more then a week and ...
