Description: Pain Relief / Panadol ActiFast is based on a unique paracetamol formulation which gets to the source of pain at least twice as fast as standard paracetamol tablets.

These tablets come in a pack of 14 which are in a plastic green case with the brand name written across the front. They are available from most chemists and some supermarkets too. I paid £3.80 for them in a small local chemist, they could probably be found slightly cheaper in one of the big chains.

Take 2 tablets every 4 hours, and no more that 8 in a 24 hour period. There are certain people who this product is not suitable for so as with any medication, always read the label before taking and follow the instructions properly. If you are unsure or have any questions, ask your pharmacist or even NHS Direct (on 0845 46 47, they are there 24 hours a day) before taking this or any medication.

This product claims that it gets to work twice as fast as ordinary paracetamol. They are relatively easy to swallow too. I took them for a sore back and did find that they helped although they didn't work miracles. They seemed to work relatively quickly too (with around 20 to 25 minutes from taking) which is exactly what they claim.

My only issue with these is the price, they are more expensive than a lot of other brands and I was not convinced that they were particularly more effective. I would use them again but would be tempted to buy a cheaper brand, for example, paracetamol capsules which also work quickly. 3 stars for working quickly but they were no better than many other brands!
