Advantages: Works in minutes, effective, long lasting

Disadvantages: its not a good idea to use it for more than 7 days

OK well i guess it's not going to be too exciting for you all to read about my snot but this was such a helpful product that i had to review it!!

My Opinion:
=========
About a week ago my charming boyfriend passed on his cold and i cannot sleep with a blocked nose so i ventured into tescos and saw the sudafed nasal spray which was part of a special offer although the normal price is £3.49. Anyway, I used the spray and it worked so fast that i was actually quite impressed! The nights that i had used it I slept better than i had done for weeks and it lasted through till the morning so i didnt wake up with a blocked nose which was so nice!!! I suffer badly from hayfever so i will definately be using this spray in the spring when my nose gets too blocked! Athough i cant say it is cheap i do think you are getting a very good and useful product for what you are paying. I would definately reccomend this to anyone with a cold as it works a treat :-)

What Its For:
==========
This nasal spray is for cold and allergy congestion aswell as sinus pressure, so basically it unblocks stuffy noses.

The Active Ingredient:
=================
The active ingredient in this nasal spray is xylometazoline hydrocholride (0.1% of it to be precise!).

How To Use:
===========
The spray is very simple to use, you simply remove the plastic cap, hold the bottle uprigh, insert the nozzle into your nostril and press the plunger bit whilst inhaling. The spray releases a measured amount of liquid which contains the active ingredient and sorts out your blocked nose. It doesnt sting or burn so isnt an unpleasant experience.

Dosage:
=======
The product is not recommended for children under 12 years. The dose for adults and children over 12 years is one spray into each nostril 2-3 times a day when you need it. I find this realistic as it lasts so long that you dont feel the need to overdose on the stuff!

Is It Suitable For You?:
==================
The instructions of the spray say that you should consult your doctor if you have high bloodpressure, heart disease, diabetes, an over-active thyroid, are pregnant or breastfeeding,are taking MAOI's or have recently had neuro surgery.

Possible Side Effects:
==================
The possible side effects stated in the leaflet are local burning, irritation, soreness, dryness, stinging, itching or sneezing although these are said to be very mild.

The Spray:
=========
The spray is a clear liquid which unlike similar product does not have a revolting smell!!

The spray itself is in a little brown bottle with a white nozzle and a clear plastic cap (for hygiene). The bottle also has a sticker on it with the dosage and a few other details.

Conclusion:
==========
All in all this is a very effective and fast working product. The spray worked quickly and lasted far longer than i expected it to (all night). I have used similar products in the past but this is by far the best and the one i would recommend. I havent yet tried it for hayfever (not too many problems with pollen at this time of year!!) but i do feel that it would be just as useful as it has been with my cold. The only real disadvantage i can think of is the fact that you are not supposed to use it for more than 7 days - this was not a problem with my cold as it has gone now but with hayfever it may be a bit awkward. The price isnt low but the product is worth it and the spray feels like it will last quite while as the bottle is 15ml. The spray which i brought does not expire for over a year so it is a useful product to keep in your medical box (in my case several boxes!) as it lasts a long time. I didnt get any of the side effects mentioned although the leaflet does say that they would only be mild anyway. The spray is also used to releave sinus pressure which i had during my cold and it did this very successfully and made me feel so much more comfortable.

One more slight disadvantage that i have just though of is the plastic cap on the nozzle, i am well aware that you would not leave the product in reach of young children but if accidently left on the side or dropped the plastic cap could easily become a choking hazard for a young child...this is just my opinion but i tend to prefer things being child friendly even if they are not designed for children (just in case!). Other than that - a excellent product which in my opinion works far better than its competitors.

Summary: quick, long lasting snot busting!
