Advantages: Works fast at soothing upset tummies and all the associated symptoms

Disadvantages: Doesn't store for as long as tablets once opened

Pepto Bismol is a medicine that is used for the relief of upset stomachs and all their associated symptoms such as nausea, diarrhoea, heartburn and indigestion. It is also just a good thing to settle your stomach if you have over indulged and your tummy is feeling a little delicate. Also it works really well when you have got a hangover to get you feeling a bit more normal again.

It comes in a bright pink bottle and to look at it you would think it was going to be a lovely strawberry flavour but it isn't. It is supposed to have a fresh 'wintergreen' taste. I have no idea what wintergreen is supposed to taste like but if it is this then I shant be rushing trying to find other drinks that taste similar.

It isn't absolutely disgusting like some of these drinks for upset stomachs can be but it is a little bit of a strange taste. It is quite sweet but it has a sort of herbal medicine taste to it which is not awful but not too pleasant either.
I can drink it without gagging though so it isn't too bad.

It gets to work really quickly at relieving upset tummys and does a really good job of controlling them. It feels soothing when it is going down and really cools my throat and heartburn when I get it and also I can actually feel it sitting in my stomach and it starts to soothe it almost straight away. It is a bit like it is smothering out the hotness and leaves my tummy feeling cooler and much less upset.

It does control diarrohea but it does take a little time for this to work so I wouldn't recommend that you take it and then leave the house straight away as you might want to wait half an hour or so to give it a chance to get to work.

The effects from it last quite a long time and I can take this and then feel better for a good few hours afterwards.

Peptol Bismol isn't my favourite thing to have for an upset stomach but it really does work to control upset tummies and so for that I would recommend it. The only problem with it as far as I'm concerned is that unlike with tablets once you open a bottle you can't just leave it indefinitely in the cupboard to drink again as it is a liquid and won't last for too long once open.

Summary: Good for poorly tummies
