Advantages: Unblocks your nose

Disadvantages: Hasn't helped with my headache much

Today I've woken up with a head cold. Bit snuffly and banging head ache. I got the sudafed out of the medicine cabinet and hoped that it would make me feel better. To be honest it's not been doing much for me though.

Sudafed congestion and headache capsules contain paracetamol, caffeine and phenylephrine. They are meant to unblock your nose and relieve headaches. They are non-drowsy which is obviously useful if driving etc. Not suitable for children under 6 years. My box contains 16 capsules and you take 2 every 4 hours as needed.

The thing I'm finding with these sudafed is that it helps my stuffy nose, but unfortunately my headache is still well and truly there. So, in my case I think I find better relief from just taking an ibuprofen based product such as nurofen.

At £3.89 a pack this is a quite expensive medication, but sudafed is a very well known brand. I think this works better when you have the type of traditional cold where you're all blocked up and eyes are streaming etc. With my mostly headache based affliction, it just doesn't work well enough.

Summary: Useful to have in the house, but doesn't always work for me
