Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream
Advantages: very effective
Disadvantages: hard to wash off your hands
I used to use Sudocrem on my own children when they were babies. Now I am using it on my grandchildren.
The packaging of this little pot of cream has barely changed over the years. I cannot believe how little it has changed to be honest, so many other brands have changed massively but not this. This obviously doesn't feel the need to!
If you have a baby then i think Sudocrem is an essential cream to have. As well as treating nappy rash it helps with other things too though such as burns and sores. I actually use this when I have a cold and my nose becomes sore from all of the blowing. I put a little bit on my nose and it helps to soothe it and stop it being so sore.
The tub of Sudocrem will last you a long, long time. I have used mine almost daily for the last 4 years and it's still got about a quarter of it left.
When my grandchildren have sore skin around their nappy area I apply this. My daughter was told by her midwife not to apply much, that you don't need to put lots on anymore. When my children were little we would apply lots, leave the cream showing but now apparently it's more efficient if you use a bit and rub it in quite well.
It is hard to rub in as it's very greasy, a little bit on your fingers is really hard to actually wash off as I'm sure you'll know if you've used it!
I apply this to their skin and it helps to reduce the redness. It doesn't tend to cure it completely if the skin is really bad about the time they are teething but it definitely helps to reduce how sore it looks.
When you apply this to sore skin it can sting a little at first but then begins to soothe.
I apply this when I have a sore nose during a cold but also if I have other sores- carpet burn for example. This really helps to reduce the pain and help the skin to heal.
It is hard to rub in it's not very absorbent at all but it is a very effective cream.
Summary: 5 stars
