Tesco do two sorts of antihistamine - the two main sorts that you can get. They are Loratadine and Cetirizine. Most people find that one of these works better for them than the other, so you just have to try both and see which is for you. Loratadine is the one that works best for me. Loratadine is the active ingredient in Clarytin, which can be very expensive. These Tesco Allergy relief tablets are the same as Clarytin. Well, they have the same active ingredient, and they look the same and they appear to work the same! They work to prevent the symptoms of hayfever type allergies - sneezing and itching. I take them daily throughout the summer, and ... Read the complete review

Anyone who suffers badly form hayfever will no doubt be in the middle of a miserable time at the moment. Me, I am happily taking my medicine and on the whole keeping the horrible condition at arms length. How am I managing this you ask? Well quite simply by taking these one a day tablets from Tescos. My hayfever begins believe it or not in March! This year was particularly bad as I suddenly started sneezing one day uncontrollably. After a few days of misery I went to the doctor who told me that it was most likely hayfever. It would appear that tree pollen was to blame. This time of year though and we are into the grass pollen which affects the vast majority of ... Read the complete review

I suffer from hayfever right from the start of the season when there is lots of grass pollen around, right through to the end of the season when the main type of pollen which affects sufferers is tree pollen. My symptoms are mainly sneezing, itchy eyes and general irritability of the sinuses and the extremity of my suffering tends to vary from year to year. I take medication for my hayfever every single year as I am always affected - it's just the extent tends to differ. When I was younger I would go to the doctor's and get prescription anti-histamines. This was fine when I was little as it cost me nothing. As a fully fledged adult however, I find the >£7 ... Read the complete review

I have a pretty bad dust allergy that really annoys me, so ive tried plenty of tablets to try and relieve me of the symptoms. Some of the premium brands can be over 3 pounds for 7 pills and with allergies being a daily problem it can become very expensive. I like supermarket own brands of tablets basically because they are cheaper, I recommend everyone by them over other brands because they are mostly the same drugs. In this case it is 3 times cheaper to buy 7 of tescos own brand at 98p. The active ingredient is 10mg of loratadine, which is a non drowsy antihistamine that you only need to take once a day, this drug is deemed suitible for treating ... Read the complete review

I didn't develop hayfever until I was in my late 20s and these last few summers have been absolute hell. What I initially thought was a really heavy cold just wouldn't go away and was especially bad at around 4am every day. Eventually the penny dropped and I realised that I would have to give an antihistamine a try. I must admit that I wasn't aware that whether you pay £3 or 99p every brand of antihistamine basically does a similar sort of job and it's the active ingredient which differs from one brand to another. Initially I had been using an active ingredient which I came to find out was called Cetirizine Hydrochloride which really does the job ... Read the complete review
