Advantages: Cheap to buy and very effective

Disadvantages: none

I think one thing that we can definitely all agree on is that one of the most annoying things that we all go through is a bad headache which shows no signs of curing itself. After deciding that its not going to go anywhere without a little push, there are numerous choices of pain relief to choose from. The most common forms of pain relief which can be purchased 'over the counter' are Paracetamol, Asprin and Ibuprofen, paracetamol probably being the most popular of the three.

There are a number of different branded versions of paracetamol including Panadol, Anadin and Calpol, but several supermarkets and pharmacies sell their own brand of the drug. Tesco is no exception to this rule selling Paracetamol products in several forms and varieties including a soluble version for dissolving into water, capsule and simply in tablets.

The Tesco Paracetamol tablets seem to be just as effective as the branded varieties that I have tried in the past, generally a dosage of 2 tablets does the job of curing a headache, which is the maximum quantity allowed. They also provide pain relief for ills other than headache and are good for lowing your temperature when coming down with the Flu.

The standard packet contains 16 Tablets of 500mg strength and according to UK law, you are only allowed to purchase 2 sets of these with every shop to try to prevent possible overdose, which can cause fatal liver failure. The cost of these packets vary on what price the competition sets (mainly Asda and Sainsbury's) but the price when I bought my pack last was 16p which is for the basic tablet form. Other forms of the Tesco paracetamol are more expensive, for example the capsule form are 47p.

Overall, the Tesco Paracetamol Tablets are a very cheap and effective form of pain relief, which to me seem to be just as good as any branded product I have previously used. I would recommend this product for any person wishing for a mild pain reliever, but be careful and always ensure you follow the dosage instructions. This product gets 5 stars out of 5 from me.

Summary: A fine product
