I always dispair when I see ops on recommending children's medication when it dose not contain the correct information. So I felt that I would explain a few things. TIXYLIX NIGHTTIME: This is blackcurrent flavour and contains pholcodiene. It is for dry coughs only. It should not be given to children under one year or anyone who suffers from asthma as it may make symptoms worse. It also make chesty coughs worse as it supresses the cough. A chesty cough is called a productive cough as it helps to shift phlegm from the chest. Tixylix cough medicines for children have been around for some time now and they are available from all chemists and most supermarkets. I thoroughly recommend this particular cough medicine to any parent; it’s a must to keep around especially if your child is prone to coughs. The best thing about Txylix is that all, apart from one, are none drowsy and sugar free.
