Advantages: Its quick working
Disadvantages: can be abused (see text)
Tixylix cough medicines for children have been around for some time now and they are available from all chemists and most supermarkets. I thoroughly recommend this particular cough medicine to any parent; it’s a must to keep around especially if your child is prone to coughs. The best thing about Txylix is that all, apart from one, are none drowsy and sugar free. Although being sugar free normally means it tastes horrid and there’s no chance any child will come within two feet of it, this is different my son genuinely likes the taste and always wants more. The Tyxlix night time is the only one out of the range that I will not recommend, not because its no good but because the only time I have recommended it was to a close friend of mine whose youngest son is one. He is constantly coming down with a cough and cold which are worse of a night so as I had tried the Txylix range and found them to work I told her to try the night time Txylix. It wasn’t until the next month I realised that she was buying more, when I asked her why she told me it was brilliant stuff and it was giving her the best sleeps she had had in along time, you see she was giving it to her son not just because he had a cough but because it made him tired and he would sleep all night. I told her that she must be joking and that it could harm him or at least make him immune to the medication but the fact that she was getting more sleep was more important. For any cough or cold symptom of any kind Tyxlix have medication for it. And for what its worth I think they are a must to at least try. But I urge you to be careful don’t over do it like my friend did. It is also not recommended for children under the age of one. Always read the label.

- 30/03/01 As a potential tip, anyone on medication (prescribed drugs e.g. antibiotics, antidepressants) who has a cold should try kid's cough medicine. Less likely to conflict with your medication (see lists on bottles). |

- 20/03/01 Medised is another one that causes drowsiness, but it's great for drying up all those secretions. Helful op. |
