This is something my neighbour suggested I use when I had a sore throat recently and it certainly does work as a good anaesthetic when you feel like your throat is on fire.

It comes in 2 flavours original menthol or cherry flavour. I used the original, although it didnt tatse very menthol like to me, but maybe that was just being unwell numbed my taste buds.

It comes in a small glass bottle with an L shaped nozzle that moves so you can direct it at the back of your throat. Very easy to use, just point and squirt, it made me cough a bit but worked very quickly to numb my throat and the effect lasted for a good 2+ hours, absolute bliss.

The good thing about this spray is that unlike lozenges, which can make your whole mouth feel numb, this works just where it lands - mainly the back of your throat, although my aim wasn't always as good as i would have hoped.

The product contains the active ingredient benzocaine which is a local anaesthetic which has a fast action.

costs £4.49 so like many winter remedies it is not cheap,and you have to buy it from a chemist, but it is very effective and could be useful this winter.
