Advantages: works for my mum

Disadvantages: tastes nasty and really stings when you spray. Nozzle could be better shape

My mum works for Boots behind the pharmacy desk and absolutely swears by this stuff. She insists it completely works for her and will buy me a bottle about once every three months 'just in case'.

However, I've had absolutely no luck with it. I had glandular fever about 2 years ago and since then I've had about 4 colds a year that have each left me completely out of action for a couple of weeks. Each time I've felt a cold coming on I've sprayed the stuff like mad, only to find that I get ill anyway.

I'm not stranger to nasal sprays (I use one for hay fever) but this one is particularly torturous - the nozzle is quite thin and pointy and you can actually hurt yourself if you're not careful! Plus the liquid burns the back of your nose and throat and tastes absolutely foul. If that doesn't put you off then it's maybe worth a try because it seems to work for a lot of people, just not for me.

Summary: doesn't work for me, but might work for you
