Advantages: Just as good as any other paracetamol!

Disadvantages: Very cheap.

Whilst shopping in Wilkinson's recently, I had a really bad headache so decided I should buy some painkillers. As I usually buy own brand painkillers, I noticed these for only 21p for 16 tablets and was swayed to try them.

The packaging isn't greatly attractive. The outer packaging is a blue and white cardboard box (suitable for recycling, which is good) which looks quite plain. However, it was the price that drew me to the product, and at 21p the appearance of the packaging doesn't really matter!

Inside the box are the instruction leaflet and the tablets in two blister packs. You should read the instructions before use, but you basically take these like any other paracetamol tablets. As the tablets are 500mg, an adult should take 2 every four hours with or after food, and swallowing them down with a glass of water. You shouldn't take more than 8 in a 24 hour period.

I find the tablets are easy to swallow, even though they do taste disgusting (like every other paracetamol brand I have used). If the taste is a big problem, you would be better using a flavoured product, e.g. Calpol. The Wilko tablets start to work around an hour after taking them.

As they contain the same active ingredient (paracetamol) as any other paracetamol brand, they work just as well but at a fraction of the price! When it comes to basic, effective paracetamol tablets, these are great ones to get!

Summary: A great, cheap product. Well worth 21p!
