I like many people around the country love my food!! There's nothing better than a Sunday roast with all the trimmings. However as I get older (well it happens to us all) I find that after eating such a huge plateful of food I tend to suffer from digestive discomfort. As a result I occasionally need a little assistance in this department. The product I will now review is Wind Setlers an item which is a regular addition to my handbag.
This product can be purchased at all good chemist shops and in large chain supermarkets. It costs around £1.69. Although as with most products the price changes from store to store so do shop around! The product itself comes in the form of a gel capsule which I have to say I prefer as once swallowed you don't end up with a 'yucky' chalky residue in your mouth. There are 24 capsules in the box which come in two foil packs of 12 capsules in each one. The capsules themselves are very small which makes swallowing them very easy. Each cap is bright green in colour. The active ingredients are Simeticone and sodium parachydroxybencoates. The medication itself is to be used for the symptomatic relief of flatulence, wind pains, bloating, swollen stomach and other symptoms associated with intestinal gas.
I tend to take these tablets when the first signs of bloating and discomfort occur. The recommended dose is to take 1-2 tablets 3-4 times throughout the day. I find however that I don't normally need to take more than two capsules to ease my symptoms. There are no noted side effects from using this product. However be prepared for having some 'severe' windy moments throughout the day (if you get my drift). The trapped wind does after all have to go somewhere.
Overall I would definitely recommend using this product as it really does keep trapped wind at bay. No chalky aftertaste and a tasteless capsule. Just be prepared for the windy episodes.
