Gripe water is one of the many products that you associate with babies and in my experience, it always seems to be the thing that people of an older generation (Mums, Aunties, Grandparents etc) suggest if your baby is grisly and upset. I decided to buy a bottle and keep it in my baby cupboard, as this seemed to be an 'essential' item. ***** Product Information ***** The first thing that I noticed was that the company, 'Woodwards', has been trading since 1851, which immediately gave me confidence in the product. This was re-inforced by the recommendation of the product by my own and my husband's family members. The product ... Read the complete review

Good old fashioned Woodwards Gripe Water - nothing wrong with old fashioned! It's something you associate with babies even if you don't have any - I think everyone has heard of it. It's been around since 1851 ! You know when your little one needs this magic stuff - the crying starts, the pained expression and the knees held up the the chest. These symptoms are caused by muscle spasms and excess acid created when air bubbles form in the tummy. We all know what trapped wind pains are like and how painful it can be, well imagine how a baby feels. They don't understand why they feel like this. The stomach produces acid - this is due to the amount of air bubbles ... Read the complete review

After having my little boy 10 weeks ago, I noticed every time I fed him he would draw his knees up to his chest and scream in pain. The reason for him doing this was because he was suffering from gripe pains (also known as excessive trapped wind). First we tried infacol which worked for the first month then became ineffective so back to the chemist we went to find an alternative. Looking on the shelves in the baby section there were 2 other types of relief for wind and gripe, 'Nurse Harveys' and 'Woodwards'. Reading the back of the boxes they were both identical but i chose the Woodwards. ****************** Did it ... Read the complete review

Anyone who has had children will know how invaluable gripe water is especially for small children and babies. I had my nephew stay over and he had trapped wind. It was awful to see him in so much pain. Luckily for him I had some Woodwards Alcohol and sugar free gripe water in the fridge. I always keep some in the fridge because I often need it for my daughter. A small tsp three times a day is enough to cure the problem. Of course dosage varies according to the age of the child and babies are given a much smaller amount. Please read the back of the bottle for more information on what is the appropriate dosage for your child. The results are ... Read the complete review

As my title says it is the best gripe water, that I have tried . My first child whos now thirteen used to suffer from really bad colic, which would go on for hours, his suffering got so bad I would end getting upset, because I just could not help him. A trip to my health visitor, brought a suggestion to try Gripe water. She recommended a different brand to try, which turned out to be useless. Next I tried colic drops that you put directly in his bottle, still the colic went on. Then a friend of mine recommended woodwards,I gave it immediately before his feed and hey presto success. It produced huge Burps, straight after his feed.Sometimes I ... Read the complete review
