Advantages: Brings up wind effectively

Disadvantages: Fiddly to administer unless you buy a syringe

My 1 month old son had been suffering with trapped wind since he was about 2 weeks old. We tried Infacol and Dentinox drops and both did the trick in terms of bringing up wind but the wind was usually accompanied by projectile vomiting! They are also very gloopy and seemed to make bits of his milk stick and congeal in is mouth.

Once he was a month old I bought Woodwards gripe water as a friend had recommended it. We have only been using it a few days but so far it has done the trick and he is a far happier baby!

A 5ml dose is recommended but I tried this and it made the burps a little too violent so I dropped the dose to 2.5ml - 3ml with each feed. If he is still a little windy afterwards I dip his dummy in it and it seems to do the trick.

I would recommend you buy a syringe as it can be fiddly measuring the exact dose with a spoon.

Definitely recommend this above the other more modern colic remedies.

Summary: Would recommend this over more modern colic remedies
