Anyone who has had children will know how invaluable gripe water is especially for small children and babies. I had my nephew stay over and he had trapped wind. It was awful to see him in so much pain. Luckily for him I had some Woodwards Alcohol and sugar free gripe water in the fridge. I always keep some in the fridge because I often need it for my daughter. A small tsp three times a day is enough to cure the problem. Of course dosage varies according to the age of the child and babies are given a much smaller amount. Please read the back of the bottle for more information on what is the appropriate dosage for your child. The results are really good and within a couple of hours it sets to work. You can tall that it works because the crying stops as it relief?s the pain. The ingredients of the gripe water are perfect for curing trap wind. It contains sodium hydrogen carbonate which helps to neutralise the acid in the stomach and remove it. Therefore, causing the pain to subside. Gripe water comes in liquid form and looks exactly like water. The only problem is, is that it comes in a glass bottle which means that it could easily break if dropped. It is available from all chemists, boots and even places like Superdrugs. It?s extremely good value costing just £1.20 a bottle it will last you a long time. The other good benefit to this product is that its sugar free so if you have small children then you don?t have to worry about giving them this gripe water in fear that their teeth will go wrong. It also lasts a long time. For example, it stores well in the fridge and it won?t go off in the fridge. The only problem is that this product is perfect for mild trapped wind. However, if after giving your child/baby this product then I would recommend taking your child to the doctors for more stronger prescription medication. However, eight out of ten times this product is more than enough. Overall this p
roduct is really good. Suitable for small babies and young children it is a excellent product to have to relieve trapped wind and put a smile back on your child?s face.

- 29/11/02 I used this on my kids too, but found Infacol was more effective as they got a bit older. |

- 28/11/02 This didn't seem to work that well with my kids, although when it contained alcohol it probably helped to get them to sleep! |
