Wrights Vaporiser: Who can recreate the vaporisor fluid and then manufacture it ... (238 words)

Surely there is a company out there who can analyse an existing sample, and then recreate, the coal tar fluid that we used to use to help our children breathe when they had colds or croop attacks. The new vaporisers are basically useless, and my own grandchild is actually showing signs of being allergic to the vapours associated with the new plug ...  Read the complete review

I cannot believe that the one & only thing that got me through my childhood coughs & colds is no longer available. I had & still suffer from very bad catarrah & now my daughter who is nearly 4 is going through the same thing. There is just nothing out there today that can hlep clear it like WRIGHTS VAPORISER did for me all those year ago. I am 36 now & can still remember that wonderful smell which used to give me comfort at night. I used to love watching the flicker of the candle too, i think thats what helped me go to sleep some nights. Please please bring this product back as it will always be the only effective remedy for me & hopefully my daughter.

SIMPLE PRODUCT - BRILLIANT CURE
I agree with ALL the reviews. My sons were treated with Wrights Vaporiser (the original one) and NEVER needed antebiotics for any chest infections etc. They are now 37 and 34. A friend's child was saved with this during a very severe bout of whooping cough. His doctor was amazed. I still have mine. And one bottle of fluid. Surely some enterprising alternative health manufacturer could make up the liquid. My husband is a stainless steel/metal specialist and could make up the container. All we need then is the Block and childrens lives could be improved. I am a retired nurse and know how well this works.

Please bring it back. My daughter always had a very dry cough when she was young and I found this was the only thing that worked for her. No Cough medicines worked but this really did.
She's now nearly 21 and when she gets a cough she gets a cough and still nothing works!!!
Someone really needs to do something to help these poor people, as I would certainly buy it if it came back.
The electric ones that took over are rubbish. Nowhere near effective

Who can tell us WHY it is no longer available, there is clearly a market for it. I can only suppose that Health & Safety have banned it on the grounds of the night light being considered dangerous. Does anybody else know why it was taken off the market?

I can only agree with all the reviews previously posted. I used the Wrights vapouriser for my children and now have grandchildren who would greatly benefit. Someone somewhere surely must be able to re-introduce it. From the reviews it would certainly be a nice little earner for someone and certainly a Godsend for 'chesty' children everywhere.

I remember as a child my mother always put the Wrights vaporiser in our bedroom whenever my sister or I had colds, coughs or congestion causing breathing difficulties and it was so effective she never used anything else. I now have a seven month old grand daughter with croup and I cannot believe this vaporiser is no longer available. Please ...  Read the complete review

I completely agree with Marilyn M's review on the Wrights Coal Tar Vapouriser. I used it for years and it was hugely helpful in easing the breathing. I tried and failed to find it. Please can we have it back on the market

Come on someone - please reintroduce something like t Wright's vapouriser. I've just had need to drag mine from the cupboard - thankfully it was still there - and use the last remaining drops of fluid. I've been keeping it for an absolute emergency. Struggling with pleural inflamation and a painful cough nothing else had given any relief! 2 nights ...  Read the complete review

Wrights Vaporiser - I have just got it out the cupboard and it's a while since I last needed it but my young son has croup and I thought I'd use this as I did my older two children because it genuinely worked unlike the plug in vaporisers on the market now, unfortunately my block needs replacing as does the fluid as it is out of date and I am ...  Read the complete review

I have 2 vaporiser's but they are a bit antiquated as they were provided by my doctor when both my sons had whooping cough ( they are now 28 and 26) . They were absolutely marvellous and my daughter who is now 20 has\also benefited from their use everytime she gets a cold . All of these modern plug in vaporiser's do not come anywhere near to them ...  Read the complete review

The Wright's vaporiser originally came in the form of a unit which was heated up using a tea light candle. The special vaporiser fluid would be measured out and spooned into a block at the top of the unit which would soak up the liquid. The heat from the candle underneath would then heat up the block and release vapours into the room which would ...  Read the complete review

All 3 of my boys had terrible croup as babies, one of them also had asthma, which thankfully he's now grown out of. I'm not at all sure how we would have got through those dreadful nights without our trusty Wrights Vaporiser. Anyone whose child has ever had croup knows what a nightmare it can be, and how terrible it is listening to ...  Read the complete review
