The English indie band Florence + The Machine present to you their first album Lungs.A chart success with it's flagship single "You Got The Love " catapulted Florence Welch and her backing band The Machine to multiple awards and over 3 million album sales worldwide(X factor statistic as of late 2011).
At first glance the album shows that Flo has an impressive vocal range , being able to go from a powerful sound in "You Got The Love" to a calmer and more gentle sound at the start of "Cosmic Love.

At first glance, Florence's beautiful voice with some of the haunting music are a match made in heaven with a lot of drum, violin and harp swirled in too.
*Sorry for this being so long but I think that Florence deserves recognition
I would recommend this to anyone that has heard the powerhouse that is Ceremonials and that wants to see the beginnings of F +TM.
Florence + The Machine :Ceremonials is the second studio album from the Indie rock and punk band Florence and the machine. The standard editions of the album have 12 tracks (1. "Only If for a Night 2. "Shake It Out"
3."What the Water Gave Me" 4. "Never Let Me Go" 5."Breaking Down 6."Lover to Lover" 7."No Light, No Light" 8."Seven Devils 9."Heartlines" 10."Spectrum" 11."All This and Heaven Too" 12."Leave My Body")
and the deluxe UK version has all of the above tracks plus several acoustic extras on a separate disk (1. "Remain Nameless 3."Bedroom Hymns" 4."What the Water Gave Me" (Demo) 5."Landscape" (Demo) 6."Heartlines" (Acoustic) 7."Shake It Out" (Acoustic) 8."Breaking Down" (Acoustic) 9."What the Water Gave Me" (video) )
Ceremonials is an excellent album that shows the true ability of Florence as she goes from the more shouty "No Light, No Light" to the more gentle "What The Water Gave Me". She infuses all of her songs with a harp and drums like in Heartlines , and church organs like in "No Light No Light". This creates an almost pagan like sound and a very orchestral effect. I only have the digital and not the CD so I am unable to comment on that factor .
I would recommend this to anyone who has heard Florence in her first album because this makes "Between Two Lungs" seem like a beginning of her career and now Ceremonials shows her voice at it's peak
The T-mobile G1 - or HTC Dream- is a phone that was manufactured by HTC in 2006 which was also the very first sm,artphone to use the Android operating system ,and was created to rival the Apple iPhone. The phone came in a cardboard box with headphones, manuals, chargers and an extra Micro SD card for even more storage. The thing that I found the most interesting was the charger worked as both the usb for the computer and the mains charger because the mains plug had a USB port instead of being fixed to a cable.
At first glance the phone is slightly on the large side because of the flip out keyboard stored under the screen for typing long messages. The screen is nice and large too with plenty of room for watching videos or reading e-Books. The battery life is short compared to a normal phone, only lasting one day, but this is because of the fact that the phone is a smart phone which is constantly connected to the Internet.
My experiences with the phone have been quite good. When setting up the phone all you need to do is to put in a G Mail account password , and you don't need to connect it to the computer like with the i Phones. The camera is quite good for a phone but the only feature it lacks is an digital zoom. The menus are easy to navigate and when touching the screen I have never found that it clicks down onto the wrong thing, which is another bonus. The keyboard is good , but the button are very small, the same size as on a Black Berry Curve and if you have large fingers like me you can sometimes find yourself typing different letters than what you intended. Making calls is very simple with this and you are in no danger of ending calls when touching the screen against your face because a proximity sensor will lock the screen. Reception is quite good on this and I can get a full signal almost anywhere apart from my local secondary school due to the metal framework.
All in all the T-Mobile G1 is a very good phone for being the first to use Android, and I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice smart phone with a big screen but without the big price tag of Apple's iPhone.
The newest member is an increasingly long line of the Xbox family, the Xbox 360 S -which stands for Slim- is smaller, lighter and less prone to hardware failures - the red rings of death. At first glance he Xbox 360 S is very aesthetically pleasing with matte-effect plastic arranged in angular positions. The packaging seems rather excessive because every cable is encased in a plastic packaging, and the actual console has a foam handle wedged onto the top to aid you in removing it from the cardboard box.
The console is extremely easy to plug in and set up which only requires plugging it into a suitable power source, and to be connected to a TV. Two buttons are located on the console for turning the console on and off , and for ejecting the disk tray with both buttons only being operable if there is enough heat emanating from the object that comes into contact with the sensors.
Several more handy features include:
SLOT FOR AN EXTRA HARD DRIVE
there is a removable panel on the bottom of the console that, when removed, shows a port for an extra memory drive to be inserted. You can also insert the Hard Drives from the normal Xbox 360s into these slots by unscrewing the casing on the drive ,removing the SATA drive and placing it into the port.
BUILT IN WI-FI ROUTER
The newest console in the family eliminates the need for buying an extra USB router for playing on the Xbox LIVE , using the social media applications, and using the Marketplace to download game add ons because there is a built in antennae for Wi-Fi signals.
EXTRA USB PORTS
In the back of the console there is an additional four USB ports alongside the standard two on the front. These ports may be used for buying individual USB pen drives to use for storing data.
NO RED RINGS OF DEATH
The geniuses at Microsoft have changed something in the hardware which prevents the hardware failures that plagued the original Xbox 360 Consoles
I would recommend this console to anyone who likes the feel of the Xbox controller and wants to play some titles that are only available to the Xbox System ie: the Halo franchise
The Vivitar Vivi Cam was a present that I received from my parents for christmas one year. It didn't come with any batteries, but it came with usb and tv to camera leads for showing off the photos and videos you had taken , and with a waterproof case for taking pictures near the pool or undewater. It was an ok camera for just £50
The box that it came folded open to show the leads, the camera ,a software disc and the cases. The very few pictures that I had taken with this weren't of very high quality because the rooms were quite dark and I later came to discover that it can only take high quality pictures in bright environments. The waterproof case is very good as it comes with a lanyard for securing it around your wrist or ankle, and the type of clasp on the lock is difficult to undo by accident which is also extremely useful.I don't know what depth it is waterproof to but I don't imagine you could go to the wreck of the Titanic and expect it to remain water-proof.
The USB and SD card slots on the camera are covered by little silicone covers which didn't stay in that well but are supposed to work as anti-dust plugs. The user interface on the camera isn't very complicated and I was able to use it without needing to read the manual for operating instructions. And sometimes , depending on the lighting, the white colour becomes a shade of yellow
All in all I would recommend this to a friend who was looking for a camera to take on holiday, but not to one who was looking for a camera to take professional photo shoots with. And I would also recommend buying an extra SD card because the
The Nissan Note( 1st model) was one of 2 cars that we got through the government funded Motability scheme. My mum initially fell in love with this car because of it's spaciousness and how beautiful it looked. It was extremely comfortable to sit in on long journeys and the bit that I loved the most too was the little hide y hole under the front passenger's seat which is useful mainly for storing handbags and sometimes a wee stash of sweets.
According to my mum, the Nissan Note was a pleasure to drive and it was easy to spot in the bright blue paint work. The main problem was driving on long exposed stretches of road because the Nissan Note was difficult to keep straight on motorways because it was so light , and if it was windy you would struggle even more. The boot was quite spacious and I think that had one of the hidden storage compartments too. This is a very good car for urban driving but I would not recommend it to anyone who needs to do long commutes on the motorway.
The Sony PS3 official controller is the latest in controllers from Sony for the PS3 gaming system. Aesthetically, I think it is ugly and unergonomic because it is very "bump and jagged", however the designers at Sony must be doing something right if the design has remained unchanged since the very first Play Station system controller. way back in 1994.But as a controller it can't be faulted, it functions perfectly and none of the buttons are awkward to reach.
At first glance the controller includes all of the buttons as normal, and is wireless -the way that most controllers are going nowadays- and features a rechargeable battery pack built into the controller that can be recharged via the USB ports on the console.
Another new feature is the "Dashboard" button in between the two joy sticks that serves to bring up a system menu telling you battery life and system notifications.
I can't really recommend this because it is a standard product with the PS3 system but I think it is fantastic other than the aesthetic problem.
This is a fantastic little mp3 player if you are looking for something that is best for listening to music and pod casts on the go. The headphones that come with the device aren't that good quality because they only produce sound out of one ear phone.
It comes in a small plastic box with a clear cover over the screen and the manual and software for Windows (for the mp3 player. It is very easy to set up and use . This isn't a touchscreen and it is controlled by the small directional arrows and enter buttons to the right of the screen.
It also allows you to watch videos and read some books (I think) that you have saved in the memory, but the screen is a bit on the small side for anything other than music.I would recccomend this to anyone who is looking for a value for money mp3 player but without the price tag of an Apple or other similar brand
Archery is a wonderful sport but like with everything you need to be careful after all, you only get what you pay for. With archery the main aim is to his a target for points, plain and simple. Your first experience might be at school or at activity come and try days in your local area.
Archery is most popular in England and that is where most shops can be found because there are more archers in England than many other places.Re curve bows are the most common type of archery that you will start to learn. When you are ready you can purchase your own equipment from an online dealer. For re curve archers the average amount spent on the set up in between three and six hundred pounds.
Whereas for compound archers the average setup is can cost anything from two hundred to over a thousand pounds . What ever you shoot just remember to practice , practice ,practice!
this nice Morphy Richards iron is a very efficient and low power consuming iron that uses a mixture of pressure and steam to remove creases from almost any material, man made or synthetic. It came packaged in a branded cardboard box with styro foam spacers. It has a surprisingly large tank for storing water to be converted into steam. It takes hardly any time to warm up to a sufficient temperature compared to my old iron. It is surprisingly light weight for something of its size.
I think mine came with either a 1 or 5 year warranty which is very useful as long as you keep the recepit and the warranty card. It is easy to store under the sink
or under the stairs.
All in all I would reccommend and urge everyone who needs a good iron to buy this even if you dont use it that often because it is easy to maintain
This laptop was originally bought as a computer for all of the family to use for school and work projects. For its size it is an exceptionally fast machine that works well on youtube which crashes computer quite a lot if they are old. The keyboard was difficult to get used to because of the reduced size , and the webcam had an extremely high resolution. The anti glare layer on the screen is helpful if you are using the computer outside.
The 10.1 inch screen is the perfect size for carrying in a suitcase for going abroad on holiday . It has a very useful port for SCART to vga Cable to connect the laptop to a larger screen.
The only downside to this is that the glossy lid on the top of the laptop is like a finger print magnet and needs constantly cleaned or wiped down . The same goes for the screen
I bought these after the ones that i got with my iPod broke and I think I have went through about 2 pairs because I've lost them. They are excellent head phones and compared to the standard iPod head phones and Ihope noticed a higher quality of sound and they were also louder at the same volumes that the iPod head phones were tested at.
The main reason I bought these headphones was because I needed an expendable set of headphones that I could take to school without having to constantly check that they were on my person. And they were perfect, small enough to fit in my pockets and the lead was quite long. The one and only complaint that I would have was, because I kept them in my pencil case next to my pencil leads, the silicone coverings almost absorbed the lead and became a faded withe colour
One of the best investments I have made in the last 12 months. These headphones are very well made and I found the case and the extra cables were a very useful thing to have because the headphones became fingermarked very easily because of the glossy finish. The super strength headband gave me peace of mind as i knew they wouldnt snap when i tried to put them over my head. Although they are a bit pricey, they are also guaranteed for 2 years with a limited warranty which grants even more peace of mind. The packaging is a bit on the bulky side as there is a cardboard sleeve to remove and then there is a large box to open as well. All in all I would reccommend these to anyone who enjoying their music where ever they go and has a bit of spare money they can spend.
Well what can I say, Apple definetleyt dont dissapoint with the newest ipod. With a miryad of apps on the app store there is plenty to do with this wonderful device. For the music player and any other apps that need sound. The charge only lasts a day if you use it like a computer for your emails, youtube internet ect.
One of the best presents that I was ever given by my family, the only downside is you need a Windows comuter to "activate " it as Apple ship them without the software already installed. One of the best features is the fact that you can update the device wirelessly once you have set it up on a windows computer.
The screen is the perfect size- not too big or small - for typing short emails and some presentations . It is expensive but it is worth it. I reccommend buying extra insurance because if it is dropped on concrete it WILL break easily
This was my first smart phone that I have ever had and to be honest its a throwaway smart phone because it is cheap nasty and unattractive. The buttons on the front fade over time to reveal a cheap copper finish that has obviously been electroplated. After updates it tends to crash constantly and there is no proximity sensor so you might find yourself ending calls f the screen touches your ears or face. The screen is a bit on the small side for sending texts and you might find yourself putting in wrong letters if you have rather large fingers.
The music player however is excellent and works like a charm with any head phones and even has an extra space to use headphones with an in line mic, but most headphones dont have the extra bit. All in all its a good phone if its for a child because its inexpensive.
