This fake tan is amazing value! £3 a bottle you can't go wrong!!
The fake tan has a light smell, when you apply it, it smells of soap. When it has dried (for example, the next morning) there is a distinct fake tan smell, but after a shower this soon goes. This is very good as more expensive fake tans normally have a much stronger smell- giving the fact that the tan is fake away!
On application, the tan comes easily out of the bottle in a pumping notion, and it spreads on easily to the skin. However, you need to use a tanning mitt, as this makes the tan much easier to spread, and it also means that you don't get orange hands, which is a dead give away.
There are three different shades to this tan, as you can get three different bottles. There is a light one, medium one, and dark one, depending on how dark you want your tan. Beware- the dark is very dark! My advice would be to buy a medium one and judge this. If you want an even darker tan, you can always apply more layers.
The one problem with this tan is that it can sometimes go green, and nobody wants to look green! If this happens, you need to wait for the tan to set (leave it about 12 hours), and then shower and you should turn a brown colour.
This is an instant tan, but be warned, if you go in the rain before the time the tan has set, it will run and go patchy. It is best to leave it at least 6 hours before you encounter water, but I normally leave at least 9 just to be sure!
The bottle lasts quite a few applications, which makes it even more of a money saving tan!
The tan normally lasts about five days, but will wear off of the hands and feet a bit before, as these are the most used areas of skin- think about how many times you wash your hands! When you are removing the tan, ex-foliate and it will easily come off, and you can reapply. However, do not shave your legs and then reapply the tan, as it will show up the shaving marks. So fake tan, and then shave in the morning for the best results.
As this shampoo was supposed to "repair and protect" I did expect to see a noticeable difference in my hair to normal, as it should have been "repaired" as the bottle claims. However, after continuous use, I did not find that my hair was any different. It was soft, but this is the same as what most shampoos offer. The smell was fresh and clean, but I wouldn't say that it stood out from any other shampoos that I have used as being extremely nice.
Due to the fact I didn't notice a difference in my hair, I would say that the product is on the expensive side, at about £4 per bottle. Normally supermarkets do offers which makes it more affordable, but I prefer a shampoo that makes a difference to my split ends!
As for protecting my hair, I still continued to use a heat protection spray when straightening my hair, as I was unsure as to whether to trust the claim. However, I did find that my hair didn't burn and it did not develop any more split ends, so maybe it was being protected, but this is hard to measure.
Even when used alongside with the "repair and protect" conditioner, I did not notice a difference to the appearance of my damaged hair. It may be different for different types of hair so it could be worth a try- I have thin hair about medium length.
Overall I won't continue to use this product, as I would prefer to use a shampoo and conditioner that I can see is making a difference to my hair.
What appealed to me about this bag was not only the design, but the perfect size of the bag. I got this bag when I was travelling to college, as I thought it would be the perfect size to hold books in, but it would also be fashionable too. The bag was a good choice, as it held all of my books in perfectly, showing that it is very spacious. It also has two front zips which are useful for easy access to things, such as my oyster card. The inside of the bag also has a zip pocket- for all those secrets woman carry around with them!
Paul's Boutique has been classified as being a bit "chavy", but this bag is very stylish and suitable for many different kinds of fashion, as it doesn't stand out as being in your face, but is delicate in black and pink. Due to these colours, it also means that it will look great with most outfits, meaning that you can use it daily.
The bag is made out of what feels like snake skin material, which was very good in the rain, as it did not get ruined, and the things inside of my bag didn't get ruined either. It was also easy to clean, as I could just wipe it down, and being black, it didn't mark easily.
The handles on the bag had leather running though them, with gold holdings on the outside. I found this a little uncomfortable on a bare shoulder, but if I had a jumper on it was fine. The handles were also very strong- as I mentioned, the bag could hold all of my books.
With every Paul's Boutique bag, you get a unique charm, which I found was appealing to the bag, as it meant that nobody else had exactly the same bag as you. To get a better experience, go to the shop and buy the bag so that you can pick a unique charm that represents you!
For around £60, I felt that this bag was a bargain, lasted well, looked beautiful and was used daily, so I definitely think of this as an investment and would advise people to also buy this bag!
The texture of this foundation is very unusual, it is very light and fluffy, unlike any other foundation I have come across before. However, be careful, as this means it is easy to stick your finger right down to the bottom of the tub if you don't know what to expect!
I found that the colour adapted well to my skin, so that you couldn't tell I was wearing too much make up, giving me a natural looking glow. Although, I did find that it was more noticeable around my hair line and my nose, as it went a clumpy consistency after a few hours, so you have to re-do the foundation after a while, but this is common with most foundations. The worst thing about this foundation was that it did not react well with sweat, as when I sweated it came off in patches, meaning that I looked like I had very strange skin! So if you are going to do sports, remember to take this off as you won't look pretty afterwards!
When using it, I didn't find that I needed too much- a little goes a long way. This meant that the foundation was cost effective, as it lasted a long time. The price of this foundation wasn't too bad, around £6, which I thought was reasonable for a foundation.
The best part about this foundation was that I found you did not need to use powder alongside with it. It gave my skin a smooth texture, and not an oily one like many foundations do. This meant that powder didn't need to be used, saving me time and money. I do wonder though that if I had used powder, the foundation may not have clumped so much in certain areas, and may have lasted longer; but this would depend on your skin type.
Overall, I am very impressed with this product and I would use it again.
This deodorant has a very unique smell, which is quite fresh. The smell stands out as being clean and summery, which is a nice change from other deodorants, but it may not appeal to some people, as it is quite strong. Although the fragrance was strong when I first applied the deodorant, it soon calmed down and by the end of the day I could not notice the strong smell.
As a deodorant, it worked well in keeping my under arms dry for the duration of the day, showing that it did its job. I didn't have the need to re-apply the deodorant throughout the day, which means that I didn't have to use too much, showing that this is a money saving purchase. Speaking of money, I found that this was averagely priced for other brands of deodorant, such as Sure. However, I have noticed that it is normally better value to buy the bigger bottles over the smaller bottles. This is only irritating as it means if you want to carry the bottle around, you have to carry a rather big bottle unless you splash out on a smaller one. On the other hand, you can normally find that supermarkets have deals on, making it cheaper. For example, Boots has a deal with this deodorant being half price at the moment (07/09/2012), making it very good value for money.
The only bad point about this deodorant was that when I first used it, I found that it produced white marks. When I tried to get rid of these they came off, but it is very annoying if you planned on wearing a black outfit and find that you have white underarms! However, after a few uses it no longer made the white marks, so I think it is just the start of the bottle. Also at the start of the bottle, I found that the deodorant was clumping under my arms, so I would have to wipe this on and apply more. This only happened a couple times though, so again I think it was the start of the bottle.
Overall, an effective and fresh smelling deodorant.
For £1.29 for over 100 cotton wool balls, I thought this was a bargain. However, the price represented the poor quality of the product. I found that when using these cotton wool balls they broke apart easily, which would mean that they would be spread all around my face. This happened especially when I was using a cleanser, showing that a thicker liquid presents problems for these cotton wool balls. I also found that when I was using them with nail varnish remover to take off my nail varnish, they would disintegrate and leave parts of the cotton wool on my nails. This is not a good look when you are painting over them!
However, they did absorb the liquids (for example, the toner), showing that they did their job, but not to a high standard that I would like. The only other really good thing about the product is the price, but then again, if you are using many different balls as they keep falling apart, then you will be using double what you normally use, and therefore not saving any money.
I think that the best use for these cotton wool balls would be for children's play, such as if they were doing arts and crafts and wanted to use the cotton wool as clouds in a picture. Also good for water based substances as these were consumed and spread easily by the cotton wool.
This is unlike any other devise I have ever owned. It is extremely light, light enough to carry around in your bag and not even notice the difference. In fact- I've had books that are heavier than this! This means that it can be carried around daily, which is especially good if you are having a long travel. For example, if you are on the tube, you can easily get it out and play games or read a book on it, without standing out and having to take up too much room.
What impressed me the most with the iPad was the battery life. If you are just using a couple of apps and some music, the battery can easily last you days on end. Normally, Apple products are known for having poor battery life, but this is really where the change is. I normally charge my iPad about every three days, and I watch telly on it and play apps constantly.
The memory on the iPad is more than enough, although if you are thinking of storing a lot of videos on it then you may want to invest in a higher memory one to ensure you can store all this. Following on from this, as the iPad is so light to carry around, you can take videos and pictures easily on the move, meaning you always have a camera on you to capture that moment.
In the App store, there are special apps that are specifically for the iPad, which are very good, as they are designed to be on a bigger screen, so you do not loose any of the effects. There is also a very large range of apps- so there is an app to suit everybody. I particularly love the shopping apps, as they make shopping easy and quick with a big screen and with touch screen. I also find that it is useful you can watch telly with certain apps, making my iPad act as my telly!
The downside to the iPad is that you have to have the internet, which means that some apps won't work if you are not connected. For example, if you are out and about and want to tweet a picture of something, you can't unless you find somewhere to connect to the internet. However, if this really bothers you, then you can get an iPad with 3G and pay a monthly fixed sum for this. Another downside is that it is quite fragile, so if you drop it on a hard floor it will easily shatter, so to get around this you need to ensure you invest in a good case. I have one that fits like a book, and it is amazing, as when you open the book cover the iPad lights up, and when you close it, the iPad darkens, saving battery.
I found that for the price of £400, this was an amazing buy. I cannot count the amount of times that I have used it, and I know that I will use an iPad for the rest of my life. It makes everyday tasks so easy, such as writing a shopping list and to looking up a number and address for a friend. It is much more than a simple device, it contains everything I need to remember!
I was drawn to this bag with the idea that I would use it during summer for picnics. As it is a plastic texture, this means that it is great to go to the park with, as it doesn't get damaged when on the floor. I found that I actually used it all year round, as it was perfect in the rain, not getting soaked all the way through. However, I did find that the rain went into the top of the bag, as there is not a zip on the top to seal the bag. Also due to the lack of zip, I was conscious of what I was carrying around, and I would bury my purse to the bottom of the bag to avoid pick pockets.
The bas is quite big, it can fit a folder in perfectly, making it good for university or school bag. Due to the plastic, it is also quite a strong bag, so I found that books were easily carried and didn't offer strain on the bag or the handles. Inside of the bag, there is a little pocket with a zip, so small items can be placed in here for further safety.
I did not find the price of this bag too bad, as I bought it from an outlet in America (Orlando Premium Outlets) for $45, whereas normally it is $65, which is a bargain price, especially for a designer bag.
The bag has cute little sayings on it, such as "not an ordinary designer bag" down one side, and on the other side, all of the cities which it is sold in. The bow offers a nice touch, especially as it stands out on the bag. Monochrome is very in fashion this season (Autumn 2012), so this bag will be a great accessory to any outfit.
These shorts are very controversial, they can be dressed up or dressed down. They look good with many different outfits- you can wear them with heels and a vest top for a dressy look, or you could wear them with a baggy jumper tucked in, with tights and boots.
I found that these shorts were quite short, they just covered my bum, so if you prefer something a bit longer, then maybe purchase these shorts from the "tall" section, as this often adds inches to the length. Alternatively, you could just make sure that tights are worn to conceal your dignity!
They were quite a tight fit for normal Topshop clothing, so you may want to get a size up. Especially after a large meal, I found that they were quite tight around my stomach area, as they came up quite high. If you are concious about your stomach, get a size up and then the shorts distract attention from your stomach.
I particularly like the buttons that are on the shorts, which makes them more interesting than just plain shorts, and also gives the feel that they are slightly a more dressy type of short. The colour being dark also adds to the look, showing that it will go well with most outfits.
A wardrobe must have!
Made from real sheepskin, these are the most comfortable boots in the world. They are so warm and comfortable on your foot, that you really won't want to take them off! Traditionally worn as slippers in Australia, these are very fashionable boots worn now. They offer fashion as well as comfort, keeping your feet warm in the winter months.
These boots are quite pricey, but then again they are real sheepskin. If you prefer to buy an alternative- don't, it won't be worth your money in the long term. "Fake" UGG boots normally loose their shape, making you walk slightly to the side. They get worn down quickly, and they let in the water; as well as not feeling at all as soft. In comparison, with the real UGG boots, you will find that they maintain their shape well, as well as not sloping to the side, so they do not wear down on the bottom of the shoe.
If you are investing in this product, I would say that it is vital that you buy a care kit to go with it. In the care kit the main thing that you will get is a sealer. I recommend one that is a spray, as you can easily apply this evenly to the boot, holding the spray about 30 cm away from the boot. This spray then protects your shoes from the outside weather, such as rain. This means that they will last longer, and they also won't look so worn when they have been weathered, retaining their value.
Personally, out of all of the UGG boots, I think that these offer a more fashionable design, due to the buttons on the side, making them stand out from the crowd. A great buy, and an investment in comfortable feet.
Based on the book by Nichollas Sparks, this is a breath taking film.
It follows the lives of two people, Noah and Alie, and their love story throughout their life, being together and being apart. It starts off with an older man reading an older woman a story from a book, as she has dementure, and he is trying to get her to remember who he is. The story he is telling is of Alie and Noah and their love, which the woman does not remember, even though she has obviously heard this story before. As the story progresses, it shows that Noah and Alie had a tainted relationship- Alie's parents didn't approve of Noah being a poor boy, and wanted her to marry someone rich, saying she was only in love with Noah for a summer romance. Unfortunately, Noah and Alie have a row and break up and when they realise they want each other back its too late, they are miles apart. Time goes on and they move on, Alie gets married and Noah meets someone. However, they always think of each other and long to be together. In the end, they end up together and in love happily, getting their happy ever after. Just when you think its a classic love story, it changes back to the old man reading the old woman a story- realising the old man is Noah and the woman is Alie.
The moral of this film shows that true love never dies, and this will stay with you for the rest of your life. In Noah and Alie's case, until they die in each others arms.
I found that this product made my hands very soft, which is the main thing that I look for when I am choosing a hand cream. I have dry skin on my hands, and from using this cream every morning, night and every time after I washed my hands, after about a month, I found that there was an improvement. I also found that it was especially useful in the winter, as my skin gets very cut from the weather and cracks a lot, but this helped to protect it from the cold and from the harsh winter weathers.
The smell was refreshing, but it did not linger on the hands, and faded quickly. As for the consistency, it was not too thick, in fact it was a little on the thinner side, but I found that it was easily absorbed into my skin and easily spreadable, so this was an advantage.
It is normally on offer in the supermarkets, so you can pick yourself up a bargain!
This face cream did not have a very strong smell, but I found that this is enjoyable as I did not want my face to smell to strongly. I found that it was a good consistency, not too thin and not too thick, which meant that it was easy to apply. I also thought that the quantity that I used was acceptable, meaning that it did not run out too fast, making it a money saving product. As well as this, I thought that the overall appearance of my skin changed slightly, as I found that it was glowing, as well as feeling very soft. Normally when I smile I can feel my skin stretching over my face (caused by dry and sensitive skin), but from using this face cream, I found that the skin did not hurt too much, which shows that there was an improvement in the quality of my skin. Very good for dry skin.
As per usual, this product from the body shop did not disappoint. It was an unusual smell, sort of like chocolates mixed with nuts mixed with the outdoors. I found it quite appealing, but I don't think that it would be to everybody's tastes, and I would not like to use this everyday as I think it would get sickening.
Other than that, the shower cream left my skin feeling very soft, as most Body Shop products do. It also left my skin feeling moisturised, like I had applied a moisturiser in the shower, and I found that I did not have to use my daily moisturiser so much. It also made my skin much softer, and by the end of the bottle I was very happy with the feel of my skin without any moisturiser applied.
I don't know if I would get this exact "flavour" again, but I would use the product again for sure.
Barry M nail varnish is such good value for money. The nail varnish is normally £2.99 and there is often deals on, such as three for two, so it works out even cheaper. The nail varnish comes in many different colours, and there are always new colours coming out, which means that there is a shade for everybody.
When you apply the nail varnish, it dries quickly, so you aren't waiting around for ages. For people with short nails, one coat is enough, but for people with longer nails, two coats are needed. Once on, the nail varnish normally lasts about six days without chipping, which I think is very good as I often get bored by then and want to change colour! It is also easy to remove and comes off easily with nail varnish remover, although the ones with glitter in take a bit more elbow grease! Since using Barry M nail varnishes, I hardly ever use any others!
