I purchased this MP3 player after I found it on Amazon for a great price.
This is a great little Mp3 player. I just wanted something that was small and easy to carry.
Mine is the NWD- B105 and is 2GB which is enough for what I need.
The interface is easy to navigate and you can search all/artist/album etc.
It even remembers the last song it played and starts from that one when you turn it on again.
The music settings and EQ are easy to tweak and it gives you a choice of Rock/pop.classical/dance etc or you can creae your own.
The sound quality is very good.
The player is easy to charge as there are no cables and you charge it by plugging straight into USB. The music is transferred by drag and drop or simply connecting to windows media player and syncing the device.
The layout of the buttons are great and you can use the hold function to stop the player switching on or skipping track while its in your pocket.
The battery life is pretty good at around 12 hours but maybe slightly less.
Overall It is perfect for what I need. Another well designed Sony product.
The Xbox elite system is arguably the best Value next generation gaming console curently available.
The 360 has had teething problems since its release date but this updated version of the console seems to have found its feet.
The xbox 360 comes in a stylish black colour and includes a huge 120 GB Hard drive, HDMI port and High definition cable. It is a nicely jazzed up version of the premium console.
The 360 bombarded the gaming market with a huge amount of next gen titles and really takes advantage of what the machine can handle.
The titles seem to have a constant feel of greatness about them, whereas the Ps3 has fallen down ever so slightly with some under par game development.
The 360 games feel alive and vibrant. You can see that there is so much more depth to the gaming enviroment.
The xbox 360 controller is well designed but does take some getting used to if you are new to the console.
The 360 can be connected to PC monitors aswell as TV/HD TV so there is no worry if you do not have a great tv to play it on. You can connect to the internet and play against other people, although you will have to pay a monthly fee for some of the online community privaleges.
When compared to the Ps3, the xbox feels like a gaming console rather than an all in one entertainment machine. However you can ge HD DVD for it.
That is not a bad thing though as the 360 knows what its strengths are and uses them.
I believe that this is the best value for money next gen console with an amazing selection of gaming titles available.
With the PS3 finally dropping to a more affordable price it is not suprising that people are taking the jump and buying them.
The ps3 is an all in one entertainment system caterig for gaming, movies, photos, music and internet connection.
The 80GB offers a good deal of space for downloading extra content and game demos.
The Ps3 is by no means the nicest looking console. When we see the Wii and 360 with there aesthetically pleasing designs, the Ps3 falls a bit short. It is heavy, bulky and looks a bit like a bread bin turned on its side.
The interface when you start the Ps3 is similar to the Sony PSP. Stylish and very easy to Navigate.
Although the PS3 falls behind with the lack of great next Gen titles, it is finally starting to catch up. Having played a wide spectram of games on this console, the graphical quality does differ greatly. Some games feel only a slight step up from the PS2 while some are jaw dropping and obviously made for a next gen machine. The quality between normal resolution picyure quality and HD is also very noticeable on this console.
The wireless controller is a nice feature and if your feeling lazy, you can turn off the console from the controller. Viva la coach patatoe!
THe blu-ray feature is also great for movie fan as the sound a picture quality from the Ps3 is probably the best you will get for the price!
Overall I would say the PS3 is a good buy and I really believe that it will slowly emerge fromits infant stage in the next few years. It really depends on the game developers being able to fully exploit the capabilities of this machine.
I recently travelled to Thailand from Norwich airport using KLM.
We flew from Norwich to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to Bangkok.
The flight from Norwich was a small Fokker 50 jet which left ontime and was a great experience as I had never been on such a small plane. The flight was ontime and the staff were very polite and friendly.
The plane from Amsterdam to Bangkok was a 10 hour flight and I was suprised to find that although the plane was huge the leg room was extremely cramped and claustrophobic. The man in front reclined his seat back the entire journey and the lack of space was very uncomfortable. Being an overnight flight and being that uncomfortable meant no sleep.
However the staff were extremely good and the service was great! It was a bit surreal when the cabin lights came on at 4.00AM and they woke people up asking..Noodles or ice cream?? who wants noodles or ice cream at 4.00AM???? I did have noodles.
Amazingly our bags turned up as the lady did warn us at checking in that sometimes transfer luggage goes missing.
The flight back from Bangkok to Amsterdam was better and we had plenty leg room and was a much more comfortable flight.
The entertainment onboard is not that good as the TV screens are in the isles meaning they can be hard to see depending on where you are sat.
Overall the food was good, the staff were very polite and helpful and I would say that KLM the royal Dutch airways are the best company I have flown with so far.
Im really starting to believe now that the days of having a living room full of devices needed for entertainment are coming to an end.
Welcome to the future.Welcome to all in one.
The Sony vaio looks stunning. With its sleak, minimalistic design, which does away with the need for a standard pc Tower. It looks tidy and uncomplicated.
This is an all in one HD entertainment package at its best.
The Blu-ray disk drive means that you can watch the latest blu-ray movies or burn files and photos to blu-ray disk for extra storage.
This will play movies in full 1080p HD and boasts 2.1 loudspeaker performance.
As well as films you can watch TV, listen to music, play games, or just use it as a regular pc.
The sony Vaio uses core 2 duo E8300 3ghz proccessor with 4GB Ram and 1TB sata storage so running out of space shouldnt be a problem!
With this beast of a machine using nvidia Geforce 9300M GS graphics playing the latest games will be a breeze.
The OS is Vista.
This really is a stylish looking system and has the performance to match!
The Acer Veriton M464 certainly offers good value for money.
This is a pc that is fast, reliable and will get the job done.
With the latest intel core 2 quad Q8300 CPU running at 2.5GHz and upto 4GB RAM, you will running programs and multi tasking without any problems at all.
This PC is also suprisingly quiet, which was a nice suprise! Thee is nothing more distracting than the crunching and humming of a PC straining to do the most basic of tasks.
The integrated graphics are great too, using integrated Nvidia Geforce 7 series you will able to run games and visually demanding programs easily.
This is a great PC but I would reccomend shopping about for the best deal as not all of them include a monitor, keyboard, mouse etc and these bits can add up. Especially those pricey monitors!
I also personally chose to use windows XP as I find this the most reliable platform still, but that is just really personal choice!
I decided to start driving lessons after my aunt gave me a BSM gift certificate for my birthday. I didnt actually get round to using it untill 2 years later but they still accepted it, even though I was 3 days over the expired date.
I started by having a go in the driving simulator before booking some lessons. The driving simulator was good for practicing clutch control and Im glad I had a go at that first.
My Instructor was very friendly and seemed good at his job. The only downside I found was the expense.
At the time they only did 2 hour lessons so I was paying £45.50 per week on driving lessons. As I only had a part time job while I was at college this got expensive.
I also did not like the fact that the car I was using was changed the day before my test and the clutch felt alot different.
I would say BSM are good but an independent may cost less and be just as qualified. Over all I spent a couple of grand and have had to give up learning to drive for now.
I am fairly new to the world of freelance writing and discovered triond, from another article I read about ways for writers to make passive income online.
Triond publishes your articles, poetry, videos and music for free and you earn royalties from the page views.
Triond will display your article on the appropriate website depending on your content. If for example you wrote an article about a health topic, then your article would be displayed on a website regarding health.
It really is a great way for writers to build an online portfolio and to meet other writers, learn new skills and learn more writing techniques.
I will say now that triond is not a get rich quick scheme and you will not make loads of money, unless that is, you have managed to upload a lot of good quality content that recieves thousands of views. I have been a member just over a month now and Have still only made cents and not dollars. It is however a good long term investment if you plan to stick with it. You could write a fantastic article that gets picked up by a website and makes you some good money!
I would say that you have nothing to lose from joining and there is potential for passive income although I would not rely on just triond for this!
I bought a Hans G flat panel display 19" widescreen monitor when I purchased a new computer about 2 years ago.
The 19" widescreen is really nice and is a good size.
I like the look of this monitor as TFT monitors are nice and flat generally and are not as bulky as older monitors.
The max resolution is 1440x900 which I find great and the resoltion seems crisp and clear to me.
I like the widescreen, especially for watching movies and gaming. It really depends what kind of gamer you are really. If you are a casual gamer then I find this resultion works fine and happily play oblivion with it. However pro gamers woulld probably go for something with HD.
The screen can be tilted for a better viewing angle.
This monitor gives off a lot less heat than my old monitor which is nice. The monitor is VGA so could be used with and XBOX 360 quite easily.
Overall I have been very happy with this monitor and after 2 years it is still going strong! the current price is a lot less than I originaly paid which was about £170 so the new price is a bargain.
youtube has revolutionised the way in which information can be shared. Youtube is a free service allowing people to upload videos and share them with millions of online users.
News headline, music videos, live music, documentaries, funny video clips and even peoples own opinions and online video journals.
Youtube has even spawned its own celebrities such as Chhris tucker, mainly known for his Britney spears video and other rants. Even the Lily Allen Show had guests on who had posted silly videos on youtube.
as well as the funny/silly and out right bizzare videos you can find on youtube, some people such as aspiring film makers and artists can use youtube to promote their work for free and potentaily reach millions of viewers.
Youtube has even changed the way lesson work, as at college youtube was often used as a teaching aid as documentaries and artist interviews could be shown as well as examples of styles of music. ( This was at music college).
Overall I believe that youtube is a great site and provides a great service.
Me and my girlfriend are planning a trip to Thailand in early summer and decided to book with STA travel
STA travel specialise in student travel and gapyears as well as people wanting to travel independently.
The staff were extremely helpful and helped us to find the best deal with flights and the lady that helped us book our trip was very honest about her own traveling experiences in Thailand.
We can also go back in and book accomodation and other trip extras at a later date, if we find any activities such as hill trekking or rafting while we are there and wish to book in advance.
A great advantage about booking through an agency is you are covered if the airline you are travelling with goes bust before or while you are traveling.
The STA travel guides were very informative and there were plenty of brochures to take away and research!
As we do not go untill may I cannot comment on what sort of service they provide if anything goes wrong while you are away but I am very impressed with the service provided so far!
I had never Used an Apple computer until I started taking a music production/audio engineering course at college. I had always used a windows based pc.
The college had Imacs and the studio we went to had a supply of macbooks for us to use when we were there.
I Have to admit that I fell in love with the Apple operating system and after purchasing a macbook I can see myself wanting any other laptop.
The thing that probably holds most people back is the price. I was lucky that a friend was able to get one for me while in america so I managed to save a bit of money which meant I coulod spend that on upgrading to the full 3 year applecare package.
I love the fact that I have not been able to crash my macbook at all! Even with programs such as logic and reason running together. On my windows PC I could crash it without even trying.
Compared to windows the Mac OSX feels really clean and runs incredibly smoothly. Another great thing is that there are less viruses that can damage mac OSX as they are mainly programed for windows.
It is so nice to be able to concentrate on recording/writing or whatever you may be doing without constantly praying it will not crash.
The 2.2ghz processor seems fast and very reliable and 1gb is running everything smoothly. You can however upgrade to 4GB to make it run extremely fast!
The Built in airport card and bluetooth is extremely handy to have as you can send files between macbooks and link your mobile phone to it to send files and pictures from your phone.
The only downside Is that although the white finish looks very nice, it doesn't take long to get dirty and you will need to clean it often to keep it white.
Watching movies on your macbook is easy and mine came with an apple remote which I highly recommend as you can use it as a dvd remote, or to skip through songs in Itunes and even presentations in powerpoint.
There reallly is so much included in the macbook straight out of the box and I would highly recommend this laptop.
I have to admit that I do not often drink hot chocolate drinks. In the past I have been disappointed by watery instant hot chocolate drinks that that taste no where as good as they look on the packet!
However, walking through my local tesco express I noticed a lonely Options mint chocolate drink sachet looking rather sad as It was the only one left. The price read 29p so I thought to my self why not? It was still snowing outside and something warm and chocolaty would soon cheer me up!
My problem of watery hot chocolate had been resolved after I worked in a cafe and learned the secret art of hot chocolate making.
1) Pour sachet into favorite mug
2) Pour a small amount of milk into the powder and stir into a thick paste, ideally using a small hot chocolate whisk but a spoon will work too.
3) Heat up milk.
4) Gently pour hot milk into the mug while slowly stirring.
( At this point you could top it off with squirty cream and Cinnamon or chocolate flakes but I personally prefer it without)
This gives you a smooth milky hot chocolate that does not taste all watery and horrible!
After tasting the mint chocolate I was very impressed. It reminded me of drinking a mint aero!
The following day I went back and purchased some more to try. this time I bought 5 for £1. I bought 1 mint, 2 Orange, and 2 coconut.
I was impressed with the Orange as I do like Terry's Chocolate orange and it reminded me just of that! The coconut was nice but not as nice as mint or orange!
and did I mention? there only between 30-40 calories each! ( depends on flavour)
I will now be making it my mission to try all the available flavours!
I have flown with easy jet a few times without tomany problems but my last experience was not so good, and left me less than impressed with this company.
We were going on a family holiday to Bulgaria to spend new year away.
We arrived at Gatwick airport two hours before check in as requested. It was 4.30 am and as we dragged our limbs through the massing crowds of Gatwick airports south terminal we suddenly relised we couldnt find our check in desk.
After searching the boards to no luck we stopped an asked a member of staff who told us that the check in was now at the North terminal instead, so we jumped on the North terminal train and off we went.
After finally checking we found out that there was a two hour delay for our easy jet flight to the airport in Sofia. Being brits we looked at this as not time wasted but time gained...and quickly headed to the nearest bar for a liquid breakfast.
two hours later it was time to head to the boarding area. We were told to go to boarding gate 34 somthing close, cant quite remember) but on arrival no one was there and we were told the flight would now board from gate 90. So back we headed the way we came to the very first gate we had walked past.
We were still in high holiday spirits and glad to nearly be on the plane!
Once seated we were told about all the safety procedures and where our life jackets could be found etc.
After about 10 minutes of nothing, the Pilot came over the radio and anounced that there would be a 2 hour delay as all flights were having problems and we had missed our spot for take off.
He even kindly explained how he had seen "no point" in telling us as things kept changing and we could take off at any time. To top it all he sounded like he didnt care or want to there.
After 2 hours of starring at the easy jet flight magazine, the plane began to move and the pilot said we were going to go and join the line of planes waiting to take off. After slowly creeping along the run way for about 20 minutes i thought he had given up on trying to take off and was attempting to drive the plane there.
After 3 hours we finally took off.
The way back...
As we sat in Sofia airport watching other flights leave and the clock tick on, the snow outside became gradually worse. The flight was due to leave at 9 pm. By 10 pm we new something was wrong thought it must just be delayed. Other flights were taking off so why wouldn't we?
By 11.59 pm the boarding area was quiet as the realization kicked in. The few hardcore brits remained in a sort of snake like queue determined to hold onto the belief that easy jet would get us home.
At 12.15 am a Bulgarian representative of the airport came through, casually stopped and looked around.
" Anyone flying to london with easy jet, your flight is cancelled , collect your bags, the airport is closed".
I couldn't believe my ears. They were throwing us out into the snow just after midnight and closing the airport.
We were made to hand over our boarding passes and go through to collect our luggage.
A lady pinned the easy jet number to the wall but with a plane full of people trying to ring it was useless.
There was no representative from easy jet available.
we were lucky as we still had enough Bulgarian Levi for a taxi to a Hotel biut some people had no money and had small children to worry about.
It took 2 days to finally get through to easy jet. we eventually managed to re-book a flight for 3 days later.
We were told that we could send in our receipts and claim the hotel expenses back from easy jet. This however has not been easy and easy jet are still trying there best to not pay a penny after abandoning their pasangers in Sofia in the middle of the night with no explanation or apology.
They even asked if we could get the receipts in english after we sent them in??? That is unbelievable. They were politely told that no we could not do that as the reciepts came from Bulgaria!!
From now on I will be avoiding easy jet at all costs!
I currently subscribe to the £9.99 a month ( think it may be cheaper due to VAT decrease?)
contract which allows me to have as many DVD's per month but one at a time. If yoy watch the film then post it back straight away in it's handy prepaid DVD card sleeve then you will be suprised at how many films you can watch per month.
£9.99 is so cheap considering I used to buy alot of DVD's costing more than that each! They would get watched once or twice then lent to people, lost or left on the shelf to gather dust. Believe it or not, lovefilm is helping me to save money!
I have to admit when I firsty heard about Lovefilm I was a little bit skeptical!
A rental company that actually posts films to your door?
What is the disks go missing or do not turn up? Will I be charged?
These were the first questions are asked myself, but as I scrolled down the faq page my mind was put at rest. I would not get charged for any missing disks. Great!
The DVD's arrive in a square sleeve with the Lovefilm colours and logo, rather than in huge DVD cases! You simply open it, tear off the front and you are left with the sealable return envelope!
To activate your account, all you have to do is pick 10 titles to add to your list. You can even change the priority by clicking High, medium or low on the selected DVD. Lovefilm will send them out to you hopefully in your desired priority aslong as the titles are available.
You can even earn points that you can exchange for an extra title, so in my case I got 2 DVD's at once rather than just one!
You can also rent the latest Xbox 360 and Ps3 games too!
I would recommend lovefilm as they have been great so far and I have not had any problems.
