So, I should probably get this out of the way now... I LOVE Nando's! It's my favourite place to go out to eat in the whole world. This review could be slightly biased then.
If you like piri-piri chicken then Nando's is definitely the place to go, but if you don't like chicken then you might just want to give it a miss. However, if you do like chicken and just don't like it too spicy then still give it a go, they do milder options too for all the wimps out there.
Not only is there awesome chicken, but there is also loads of Portuguese inspired side dishes to accompany it and really yummy veggie options as well.
The only thing that could be a drawback is the price of the meals, all in, it generally costs me around £10 a time which isn't too expensive but for what you get it could be a whole lot cheaper! It all is definitely worth it though, if you've never been- give it a go! if you're a long time lover, keep enjoying it!
This isn't a product that would immediately appeal to me, it looks pretty cheap and to be honest it is pretty cheap. When these two things go together there isn't usually a good outcome, however, I think that this product might just be the exception to the rule.
I bought this as I was traveling to Australia on a flight that was going to take longer than a whole day to complete so I needed something to stop me being smelly and feeling rough. 10ml at Boots only costs £3.95 and you can't really say fairer than that so I thought I'd give it a go.
The bottle it comes in is not particularly attractive- a prism with pink liquid inside. It looks pretty cheap but pretty plain at the same time so it isn't all bad. The smell itself isn't anything spectacular, but it does smell clean and feminine so was pretty much perfect for what I needed it for.
I don't think this product is anything special but for a cheap product it definitely does the job. If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful perfume or just want something to put in your handbag or take on a flight then this might just be the product for you!
For a range that is relatively inexpensive (well, it is if you just buy the little takeaways anyway) the products are surprisingly effective. So many times I have bought hair products stupidly believing that they'll actually do what they say they will but, from what I've tried, these ones seem to do just that.
If you are unsure and just want to give a new product a go, or are looking for something to carry around in your handbag with you, I would recommend trying out the takeaways range. In this there are various products such as shampoos, conditioners, mousses, hairsprays etc. and - even better - they are only £1.95 each at Boots. Even better still, they are on 3 for 2 offers on a regular basis - yay!
The products do have a nice clean smell to them, perhaps not as nice as some of the other ranges out there but it really does help you to feel as if you have lovely fresh hair all day long. The little bottles they come in are really cute and are great to pop into your handbag or as hand luggage if you are going away.
I would definitely recommend this range of products, I haven't tried them all but those that I have have been brilliant. And at only £1.95 each theres no excuse to not give them a go!
I'm a big fan of Marc Jacobs, already having the Daisy fragrance (which is absolutely lovely).
The first thing that I noticed about the product was the absolutely stunning bottle that it comes in: a beautiful purple colour with over-the-top plasticy flowers on top. Along the same lines as the Daisy fragrance but even more impressive.
The smell is impressive too. It's quite heavy and floral which may not be perfect for this time of year but great in the evening if you are going out- especially if you're glamming up for the night too.
For 100ml it costs approximately £60 (£60 exactly from Boots at the moment). For a perfume, this isn't too expensive, especially when you take into account the quality of the product you get. However, it isn't exactly suitable for everyday wear, I'm sure you wouldn't want to use it up too quickly.
All in all, this is an excellent product but a bit on the pricey side but if you have the money, go for it!
Blackheads are one of the most annoying skin complaints, unsightly and seemingly impossible to get rid of! So, when I came across this product I had to give it a go. I've used other similar products before but they all seemed to be rather ineffective.
These cost me £4.99 from Boots for a box of 6, a pretty regular price for this type of product one which is pretty similar in any other shop. This seems like a fair enough price as the box will last approximately 4-6 weeks depending on how often you want to (or have to!) use them.
So, to use them you have to wet your nose and then simply stick them on, wait for them to dry and then peel off. Although this might be a little easier said than done. I did find them quite painful to peel off but I guess this means they're working!
Once they're peeled off you can see on the sheet what has come off (ew!) but it does show you that they really do work.
I would recommend this product but it is, perhaps, one for people who are willing to suffer for their beauty.
I have a tendency to chop and change with various shower gels, every time I finish one up there seems to be a newer and more exciting one on the shop shelves, but I have to say, this is one of the best ones I have experienced in a long time!
The very fact that it comes in a can is pretty exciting in itself (although I am pretty easily excited). The gel that comes out does lather up very well as promised and just a little bit will go a long way. It also smells fantastic- I have the Hawaiian spa version which smells flowery and tropical, which is divine. I got mine for approximately £3.50 from Boots which I thought was pretty reasonable for the product you are getting.
I did however find that the gel wasn't as moisturising as some of the other shower gels I have used recently, which was a bit of a disappointment. But for what you get for your money, I think that overall it is worth the money, so give it a go!
So, Red Bull: we all know that it is pretty bad for us what with all the sugar and caffeine and we all know that, generally, it's not all that nice tasting, yet we all seem to drink it regardless. Why's this? Because it does exactly what it says it will and gives you an energy boost when you most need it.
Red Bull is just like any other sugary carbonated drink except with one major difference: the massive caffeine content. This makes it a perfect drink to have perhaps before a night out or halfway through the afternoon at work when you get to the point where you just want to sleep on the desk. It's a great pick me up but I'd advise caution because once you've had the boost of caffeine and sugar you're likely to experience a massive dip shortly after and may just feel even worse than you did before!
Another problem with this drink is the taste. Although some people do seem to like it, I personally don't, as far as I am concerned it just tastes artificial and really a bit weird.
It's good for what it is but don't expect to fall in love with the drink because it really is quite foul.
I don't think I've ever come across a range of nail varnishes with a more expansive range of colours and finishes than the Barry M one. It seems that everytime I go into a shop that sells them I find another gorgeous and even more tempting colour to buy! And with them only being around £3 it's completely forgivable to give as many a go as you like.
When applied, the colours go on strongly too, with most of them it's not even necessary to apply two coats as the colours are really bright and lovely. Although I usually give it two coats anyway as it intensifies the colours even more and helps the varnish to stay on longer.
I have to say though, these don't tend to have excellent staying power and they do chip relatively easily- but with no base coat or top coat will usually last at least a day before chipping. Be careful though, the ones with sparkles in do tend to chip more easily than others.
I would definitely recommend these products, theres definitely a colour and finish to suit absolutely everyone!
If there is one reason to buy Barry M products (and there really is just one reason to buy Barry M products to be honest) then it's for all the fantastic colours that are available in the range. They really are quite impressive, and this eyeliner certainly doesn't fail to deliver.
I have the pink version of this eyeliner, which I chose as I had other eyeliners in many of the other colours, and the pink was a very eye catching and different colour. So, being relatively cheap (about £4.50) I decided I'd give it a go.
The liquid goes on quite easily, with a sponge tipped lid rather than a more conventional brush one, this works fine but it does mean that it is not easy to change the thickness of the line, it really has to just be however thick the sponge is. I found that the liquid dries really quickly, which means that it doesn't smudge, but also means that it stings a little when it dries on my sensitive skin. It does, however, have really good staying power and will last all day and all night if you want it to.
I would definitely recommend this product, especially if you are looking for something a little different.
I have a terrible combination of very pale skin and an apparent aversion to sleep, both of these put together seem to result in terrible dark circles and sometimes puffiness (not helped by my very sensitive skin I'm sure). So, for ages and ages I have been on a quest to try and eradicate these dark circles and am afraid to say that, aside from using too much concealer, nothing so far has worked.
The massaging action of this product does help to reduce puffiness I have found, however, it does absolutely nothing for my dark circles which, really, are the main problem!
The product in it is also quite thin and watery which does nothing to help me feel as though my eyes are being moisturised which is very important if you want to help reduce the puffiness and keep any wrinkles at bay!
The product is relatively expensive as well, at around £10 and this is quite a lot of money to pay for something which isn't going to work!
Okay, so I have to admit, reasonably priced crisps are one of my major downfalls, a total guilty pleasure. I think if I just cut them out of my diet completely I'd save so much on both money and calories but, alas, that isn't likely to happen any time soon. So, when I noticed that Quavers were only 87 calories per pack I was very very pleased.
Although they aren't exactly good for you, in my opinion, they also aren't really anything that you should feel guilty about eating, after all, they are only 87 calories and 4.9 grams of fat per bag which for crisps really isn't that bad.
Quavers are brilliant for people of all ages in my opinion, fun enough for children to want to eat yet not too childish for an adult to not want to eat them. They also taste quite strongly of cheese but not a weird orange colour like some other cheese flavoured snacks are, which is good so you dont accidently have orange teeth after eating them.
They're a reasonable price and really quite yummy, so I would definitely recommend them!
For some reason, I just can't seem to buy just one lip balm and stick to it, I either lose them, have them scattered around various places or just simply get bored of them... no matter how good they are it seems.
So I bought this one as another one of my new ones as it promised to be super moisturising and really, thats all you could want from a lip balm.
I personally thought that it had a bit of an odd smell, not the usual kind of smell that you would expect from a lip balm, being neither fruity, flowery or medicinal like most other lip balms are. To be honest, this did put me off a little before I even put it on my lips.
When I did apply it, it seemed to be nice and moisturising which was great but had a bit of an odd taste to it which I really wasn't expecting.
All in all, I would recommend this product, as long as you can get hold of it for a decent price.
I bought this product one day as I needed a new mascara and I like a good challenge- when a company claim to be able to make your eyelashes appear up to 7 times bigger you just have to test it out, right?!
When I went to use this product, the first thing I noticed was the strong perfumey smell it had which was not particularly pleasant and made me worry in case I accidently got some in my eye- it seemed as though it would hurt a lot more with all that unnecessary perfume in it!
The brush was a good size, making it nice and easy to coat all of my lashes without putting too much product on and then making it clumpy. I did notice that the formulation was a little too watery which undid all the good work of my eyelash curlers... but not too drastically.
I think I picked this up for around £5 in Boots, if you can find it for similar, I would definitely recommend it if you want volumised lashes at not too high a price.
Dr Nick Lowe products are formulated by a world renowned dermatologist, and so, I expected this cleanser to work brilliantly.
Unfortunately, I don't quite think I could claim that, but it certainly was satisfactory. It claims to refresh and brighten the skin by deep cleaning pores and gently exfoliating- after using it, my skin definitely did feel like it had had quite a deep clean but I'm not so sure about the bit about it being brighter.
The product comes out as a foam when you pump the top of the bottle, I liked this as it made it easier to rub into my skin without pressing hard to make it lather. This perhaps meant that my skin was a little less irritated after I used it.
However, it did dry out my skin a bit too, which was always a risk really having combination skin. However, the drying effect certainly wasn't enough to make me want to stop using it.
Overall, I would recommend it, but be careful if you have dry skin at all!
I was at the make-up counters at Boots the other day (as I always seem to be lately) when the assistant at the Lancome one asked me if I'd like to try their Hypnose mascara, I was so impressed with the result that I decided I couldn't be bothered with my old Urban Decay mascara and I might as well just buy this one there and then.
She had applied it over the mascara that I was already wearing, so I was interested to see how it would perform on it's own. On opening it, I found that the brush was a good size, large enough to cover a decent amount of lashes in one go, but not too large that it makes it cumbersome. So I curled my lashes and swept it on and I have to say that I was very impressed with the result, my eyelashes looked absolutely huge! Because the formula dried so quickly I found I didn't even have to re-curl the lashes after application and, if I did, then my eyelashes stayed in place without drooping at all. The product claims to stay for 12 hours and I'd really say that it does live up to that claim, I didn't have to re-curl my lashes or apply any more coats of mascara all day, they just stayed looking as they had done when I had first done my make up.
There were a couple of problems with this mascara however, first, you have to be very careful when applying it that you don't put too much on as this seems quite easy with the brush, and you really don't want to end up with spidery lashes. Secondly, I found it very difficult to get off, you have to make sure you have a decent waterproof make up remover and just take a little more time than you would with other mascaras. Lastly, it cost me £20 from Boots, but I definitely think it's worth it, this is the best mascara I've ever used!
