Since I suffer from very dry legs, especially in the Winter months, I bought this product after seeing it in a magazine. I had heard of the brand Nip+Fab before due to seeing their tummy and bust products but this one had so far escaped me. I found that it works reasonably well but maybe not as well as it should do for the price. When my legs were very dry, it helped to instantly soften and smooth them however, this feeling did not last all day and my legs did not retain the moisture - within a few hours they felt dry and flaky again. When I have spent £10 on a small tube, I would expect the effects to last much longer. In addition to this, it is not the nicest smelling product although after a few applications you get used ot it and it is tolerable. I would not want to apply this just before going out somewhere though as the smell is strong and can easily be noticed.
Ultimately, this does fix dry legs however, it is limited in its use and I have found that cheaper moisturisers have the same effect and last longer. The fact that is costs £10 for 100g means that you get very littl eproduct for your money and so it is a bit disappointing.
This product is great for creating a sunkissed glow as long as you are not going anywhere near water! I have used this product on a night out to make my legs look longer and thinner. The level of tan can easily be built up using this and if applied in the right way, you can contour your legs, making them look longer and thinner. However, if it rains, your legs can become streaky very quickly and the tan can transfer onto clothing - not the best look!
I also use this product for dancing competitions to build up my tan levels and to even out any streakiness from my tan mousse. I have found in certain situations, the tan can also be sweated off, especially when dancing for long periods of time and so this could also be applicable on a night out.
Overall, for the price of around £5 this tan is a great solution. It lasts all night as long as there is no rain and noone spills a drink down you and if applied in the correct way, can give you a very natural, sunkissed look.
I received this product in my Glossybox several months ago and I think its wonderful. I had heard of the HD Brows brand before but had never tried any of their products. I am now totally converted. The box comes with 4 2g powders in different shades and a little brush. The shades can be blended to make the perfect match to each individual person's eyebrows so they look natural or can be darkened depending on what look you are going for. It is perfect to create a subtle daytime look and a darker nighttime one. I even use it for definition at dancing competitions and it works wonders.
The palette costs £20 and in my opinion this is totally worth the money for 4 blendable shades that last a long time. As such a small amount is needed in each application, the palette will last for months on end. I have already been using it for 2 months and it has barely made a dent!
The palette is a small size and will easily fit in the palm of your hand. This makes it easy for applying on the move, especially with the handy mirror in the top, and will fit in a makeup bag easily, leaving plenty of room for your other items.
I suffer from very dry skin on my legs but this product has been a miracle worker. It helps to smooth out my legs and keep them soft and moisturised all day. The addition on the 'summer glow' helps me feel confident in the summer months to get my legs out as they look wonderful and the subtle shimmer hides any blemishes and makes my legs look slimmer and healthier.
The only downside to this product is the price. At £36 this can become pricy when used every day although I think it is worth the money for me to feel more confident about my legs and since I am short, it goes alot further!
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who suffers from dry skin as it will make your legs feel and look amazing and so soft to the touch. Your confidence will soar when you have used this product for a while and I'm sure you will agree with me after a month of using this product.
When cooking, I like to blend my sauces so there are no lumps and bumps to be found. This blender does this job splendidly for the price that was paid. It was bought when Argos were doing a special offer and cost around £12. For that price, there is nothing really to complain about!
For a student, it is ideal so large batches of sauces can be made on one go to be frozen. It has lasted me nearly a year so far and is still in perfect working condition. The bottom undoes so it can be washed independantly from the electrical applicance and it cleans perfectly if washed in warm water with washing up liquid.
It also comes with a plastic tumbler that fruit can be put into to be blended into a smoothie.
The only disadvantage with this appliance is that it is quit enoisy but this is something that can easily be overlooked for the amount of time that it is in use.
Would definitely recommend this for people moving our for the first time, especially students who do not have a large budget
Buying this, I was no stranger to Apple products but was completely new to the tablet market. I feared that I would not be able to do everything I would like and the lack of flash would hinder my web searches greatly. However, on receiving my tablet, my fears were completely unfounded. The tablet is robust and the 32GB wifi product that I opted for has proved to be the perfect capacity.
My biggest concern was that I was paying a huge amount of money for a glorified toy but having my iPad has increased my productivity levels immensley. I take it to all my lectures as it is small and light enough to fit in my handbag and so saves me a great amount of time handwriting notes which then have to be typed up later.
The camera is an okay quality, could be better but for the amount of use it gets, it's fine and it works well for Facetime and Skype.
Having this tablet has also proved itself in keeping me entertained, both at home and when travelling. The vast range of apps allow for downloads to suit all ages and personalities at any price range and the book store rivals that of the Kindle for ebook reading. The increasing ability to download e-copies of magazines increases my enthusiasm for the tablet as it stops my bag being weighed down by sereval different magazines.
Ultimately, this is the best purchase I have ever made and would fully recommend buying an iPad to anyone considering one. Yes, it i essentially as glorified toy but it is incredibly useful and increases productivity. A must for any household.
This kettle was bought as part of a redo of the family kitchen. In looking for a cream kettle, this one was the best colour match - other brands were more yellow than cream. It is a good little kettle but not without its faults.
It isn't the cheapest kettle around and if you are not bothered about the aesthetic elements or wanting a colour to match your kitchen, it probably isn't worth the money. Putting the water in from the tap can be a bit of a challenge as the handle is in the way of the top and so it is more effective to pour it in through the spout than the correct way. Additionally, it makes a lot of noise when boiling which can become quite distracting if you are boiling large amounts of water in one go.
If you want a kettle that matches a cream kitchen, go for it. It boils water as well as the next kettle. However, if you just want a functioning kettle that boils your water regardless of what it looks like, go for a cheaper option.
As I just moved into my own house, I had to go on a spending spree for household items, namely kitchen appliances. Being a student, I did not want to spend a huge amount of money but wanted a product that would do what was required and would be durable. Despite seeing mixed reviews for the Russel Hobbs basic mixer, I decided to give it a go since it was on offer. I have found it works well and has so far lasted nearly a year, for the £12 I paid, brilliant.
I cannot fault this product, for the price it is and considering it is from the basics range, it blends well on a variety of speeds and the beaters can easily be removed at the push of a button for them to be put into a dishwasher. The appliance itself is white so will fit in in any kitchen and it is small and compact, allowing it to be stored easily.
The only downside is that it is not as stable as some mixers and you can be standing there for a few minutes while your mixture is blended. However, for the price, it cannot be faulted.
Would fully recommend, especially for students learning to cook who have just moved out into their own home.
This is a brilliant piece of all in one equiptment. It was bought for university to print wirelessly and so far has worked flawlessly. It is an Apple air printer and so will print documents from iPads and iPhones as long as there is a wifi connection. The printer itself is small but sturdy - not of the external components feel cheap and flimsy unlike many printers. It is also very easy to change the cartridges within the printer although if the cartridges used are not Epson, it can clog up the filters and irrepairably damage the equiptment.
The printer is easy to set up and scans items to the computer effortlessly. I have not tried printing onto photo paper yet but the printer is set up to do so and based on the quality of everything else the printer can do, I will assume that it will print photos just as well.
Given the price of this printer at around £60, this is a brilliant piece of kit that does whatever you could ask for and more. Would fully recommend to anyone who wants a wireless printer, especially for students off to uni as it is so compact, it will not take up much room in a dorm.
New and old fans of the Pokémon series alike will be captivated by this game. Die-hard Pokémon fans will remember playing the original a decade ago and this game has the same magic that the original did but it has been substantially improved through the enhancing of graphics and additional features being added such as the pokewalker. This charming piece of kit allows the user to transfer a Pokémon into the ball (designed to look like a pokeball from colours to size) and to walk around with it, just as one would with a pedometer. This allows for points to build up which help to train the Pokémon and depending on the route chosen and the number of points, items can be found and Pokémon can be captured. These can then be transferred back to the DS to be used in the game.
Overall, in my humble opinion, Heart Gold/Soul Silver is easily the best Pokémon game that has been made for a handheld console and I'm speaking from experience having owned every single one! While the style of gameplay hasn't changed, the increase in the number of Pokémon is phenomenal and while it is impossible to catch 'em all, I would say it can't hurt to try whether you are a Pokémon pro or a newbie to the games. Don't miss out.
For years I have struggled with home hair dye as my hair is very thick and long but this product solves all my problems! I have tried several different medium browns from this range and they have all come out a rich colour that is similar to that on the box - quite a rarity with a lot of hair dyes!
The product comes with black latex gloves, the two component to mix to create the foam and a moisturising conditioner. The foam really is non drip and sits on the hair the whole time it is developing. The foam has a synthetic smell to it that is quite strong but it is not as unpleasant as many hair dyes are and the conditioner that is to be used straight after washing the foam out smells much more pleasant and removes the chemical smell from the hair. After washing the foam out, the dye does not transfer to anything else and leaves your hair looking shiny and thick.
I think this product is marvellous and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone that wishes to dye there hair at home. Quick and simple for excellent results.
I chose this game as I was impressed with both games of the same name for the Nintendo DS. This game however, was a complete let down. It was really not worth the money for the amount of gameplay and there are issues with the controls used with the movements not being picked up a lot of the time, leading to a bad score on the game. I some cases, the instuctions were so vague that it was difficult to understand what you were supposed to do and then when you finally understood it, it didn't register the motion!
The addition of the Let's Cook mode is a nice idea but presents the main problems as the main game. The mulit-player mode is slightly better as all players are at the disadvantage of the game's problems and this makes it a more even playing field.
The main positive of this game is the addition of new recipes that, as the title implies, are recipes from around the world. This variety is a nice touch that previous games did lack as the recipes were all rather samey but it would have been nice to have a wider range of cooking techniques in order to prepare these new recipes.
Personally I would not recommend buying this game unless you deperately want it and it is on sale.
I bought this game as soon as it came out having loved the original game. Usually, I feel that the sequels don't reach the standard set by the original game as it becomes too samey but this is an exception.
The game follows the same storyline as all its predecessors - Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach and Mario has to save her - however, each level is completely fresh despite the same controls being used as in Mario Galaxy 1.
The levels themselves are quite short however as you go through eac world, the difficulty increases and by the time you have gained 70 stars to beat Bowser, it has become a lot harder, especially the 'S World' after this. The addition of characters that were not available in the original is a huge bonus to the game, most notably the use of yoshi, which adds a new type of level to the game a yoshi has to eat enemies and different fruits. It is also possible to play some levels as Luigi which then unlocks a 'ghost' in that galaxy. This is not necessary to complete the game.
The powerups from the last game make a reappearance, along with some new ones such as digger mario.
Each level also contains a comet medal. Mario must collect these in each level in order to unlock prankster comets which provide a new level. All this must be done in order to complete each galaxy.
The object of the game is to collect stars to power the space ship in order to move through the worlds to find Bowser. In order to rescue the Princess, you must fight Bowser at 70 stars. Overall there are 120 stars to collect and 49 comet coins. However the game is not over yet! This then unlocks special 'green stars' of which there are another 120 to collect. Only when all 240 stars and 49 comet medals have you finally completed the game!
I was given this as a present for my birthday last year and it has been brilliant to keep in my bag for those emergencies when you leave your make-up bag at home. It is a good way to try out some of the benefit products available as the kit contains 3 small versions of some of their best selling products.
The case itself is a small, sturdy rectangle and has a magnetic fastening on the side that clips nicely into place. There is also a cover to slide over this to help protect the box itself which says 'Justine case' on the top (just in case). On the inside is a small mirror which is useful for applying the products more accurately.
Inside there is a small version of benetint which in my opinion is one of the best benefit products they sell. It is a gorgeous pinky red and is suitable for all skin tones as the intensity of the colour depends on how much is applied each time and can be layered to create a more intense colour.
The next mini product is eyecon which is put under the eye to brighten the area and to create a more flawless look. It has a nice cooling sensation when applied and lasts a long time.
The other tube is the California Kissin' lipgloss which is strange to use at first but the feeling becomes more plesant with more usage. The blue colour does not really show up when applied to lips and it contains small glitter particles which catch the light well. It has an intense minty scent and feels like a lip plumper but I'm not sure if it actually makes my lips any bigger.
In the set is a foundation/concealer however there are no colour options to choose from when buying this product. It doesn't go on particularly evenly and is suited to an olivy complextion which is far too dark for me.
Overall, this is a brilliant set to keep in your handbag for little touch ups but if you do not have olive skin, you will need to keep a tube of concealer with it!
I bought this camera over 18 months ago and it is still going strong and the picture quality is far better than others makes that have a higher pixel count. The battery is a lithium ion rechargable battery and the camera comes with a recharger that is plugged into the mains power and a small led lights up when charging and goes off when fully charged.
The camera itself is a nice grey and silver combination with the back being a darker colour with a large viewing screen. It has survived many knocks and drops with little visible wear and tear and many of these could have been prevented if I had used a case to store it in.
The camera has many different modes and even the standard auto mode takes great quality pictures. Other settings can be used for different times such as party, fireworks, underwater and sport which takes very fast pictures that still remain in focus. I tend to choose the 2 picture mode where two pictures are taken one after the other, one with flash and one without. This is very useful if you are not sure whether a better picture would be produced with or without flash. This is good for evening pictures where sometimes the natural light is enough but at others it needs a little more help.
The playback feature on the camera allows for the pictures to be viewed close up with one picture at a time but you can also zoom out here to view 9 pictures at a time which allows you to scroll through and find a specific picture far quicker. Pictures can be edited on the camera with fatures such as zooming and cropping being available which keeps the original picture but creates a new one that can be printed to the same high quality and fits the standard picture sizes. Pictures can be deleted individually or set at a multi delete feature that reduces time when deleting numerous pictures.
The camera is compatible with sd and xd cards and a 2gb sd card will hold over 1000 pictures. The 8.3 mega pixels produce a high quality image and is just as good as many other far more expensive cameras. It is easy to zoom in and out when taking and viewing pictures by flicking the dial on the top to the left or right. It also has very accurate face recognition technology that will pick up every face even in a group photo and it makes sure that each face is in focus.
Despite the fact that there are many newer cameras on the market boasting supposedly far better features and mega pixels, I would buy this camera again as I have been so impressed with the quality and for the price it is fantastic!
