Now I could very easily write a technical review on this phone but for one if you want to know the specifics you can find them on any phone website and two let's face it half of us don't even understand the tech speak anyway do we I would simply be copying facts I don't understand so I'm going to write my review based on how I use my phone I hope you find it useful.
Let me start off by saying for years I had been loyal to sony ericcson phones until I got the xperia which was such a terrible phone I couldn't face keeping it for two years so I purchased galaxy s3 from a friend and let me tell you it is by far the best phone I have ever had.
The phone is bigger than others I have had in the past few years but is also lighter and fits nicely in the palm of my hand it is very shiny though so I recommend a good cover stop it slipping from your hand. The screen is clear and colours bright. I found it was quite easy to make the swap from sony to samsung the menus are clear and easy to operate calls are clear and you have speaker phone option for those hands free moments. Text messaging is sometimes an issue I text fast and often words come out totally different due to auto correct so you need to watch what is coming up on screen. I also discovered the other day that text and photo messages were disappearing you don't get paper manuals explaining every last detail these days so it was up to me to figure it out I found that the default settings for messages was set to delete after so many so a quick untick of a box fixed that problem I've never known any other phone do that so its something to look out for if you don't want to loose important texts.
The picture options on this phone are outstanding the quality is brilliant and the best feature by far especially for me as a new parent is the ability to take pictures whilst filming video so the pictures are instant no waiting for a flash which often means you have missed that special moment I have been able to take some brilliant pictures of my new baby in this way. You just need to make sure if your just videoing for that purpose you delete video after as they take up lots of room. The phone does have 16gb of memory but it won't last long if your constantly videoing you do however have the option to add a micro sd card and expand the memory in this way if you want. Once you have taken pictures they are easily viewed in order in the gallery. If you download snapfish app from the google play store you are able to upload your photos straight from your phone to snapfish account where you can get them printed without having to mess around with a computer cable.
Google play store is on this phone allowing you to download apps some for free others are chareable you will need a google account which holds your payment detsils to do this you set this up through the playstore and once its done it easy to download what you like. Ebay is one app I use a lot this phone is great for keeping track of auctions and placing bids on the go. It also allows you to view ebay in mobile view and classic view you will know if you are a regular ebay user this is handy as some things you are not able to do in mobile view and would normally mean a computer would need turning on to sort. The phone has wifi connectivity aswell as 3g 4g so if your at home and have wireless internet I suggest you link to that instead of your 3g save that usage for when your out.
Another useful feature of this phone is in built in gps allowing you to use it as a sat nav aswell as a phone on sat nav options you have walking aswell as well as driving instructions which is useful for if your in a town centre you don't know and want to find a shop you simply type the shop name into the google searchon your home screen click get directions and away you go you have the option of just directions or navigation. When it comes to driving instructions it will also highlight problem areas so you can avoid them. If you are into walking you can also download mapmy apps and they will track your routes and let you know how far you have walked how long it has taken, your average speed and calories burnt which I find motivational you can also take pictures as you walk which show up on map.
Browsing the internet is quick and easy with this phone and as with ebay it allows you to view websites in mobile and classic versions. Picking up your emails on the go is also available through apps linked to your email provider.
If you like to watch tv and movies you are ableto through apps such as netflix and iplayer so you can lie in bed and relax with a film if you would like or if you are more of a reader you can download the kindle app and use your phone as a book
Battery life is good I feel I use my phone a lot and where others would need charging half way through the day this one lasts all day I always charge my phones of a night as you never know when you will need it but the battery has never been fully drained. I fully recommend this phone to anyone upgrading or looking for a new handset. It of course has bluetooth allowing you to share pictures with friends and does what I would consider the basics now allows you to set contact pictures , ringtones , screen saver and wallpaper pictures.
The phone is around the 400 pound mark to buy but I think for all the features you are getting it is brilliant and if your upgrading you could get it for free I 100% recommend this phone to everyone. I hopeyou found thisuseful and a bit of an insight into the things you can get out of this phone without the technical bits.
As first time parents one off the biggest purchases we have found we have needed to make has been the pushchair for our little one. We found after visiting many baby shops there are that many options available its hard to know where to begin. At the end of a long day we came across this hauck travel system and I knew that the searching was over.
Reasons for purchasing
My main reason for purchasing a travel system instead of a regular pushchair was you get all you need from birth to three years in one purchase without having to buy a seperate buggy when baby is older. A bigger car seat will however need to be purchsed at some point but its a start.
With the travel system you get the pushchair, a car seat, a rain cover, a changing bag, a foot muff and a carry cot with mattress. I liked the carry cot idea as I don't think babies look very comfy scrunched up for long periods in a car seat and as I planned on taking my little man on lots of walks I thought a carry cot would be more suitable for our uses. I gave the pram a quick spin round the shop and it handled well. We came home and decided to order one online the travel system comes in many different colours suitable for both genders and there is also a Mickey Mouse one which is the one we choose.
Setting the pushchair up
Once the travel system had been delivered (to my moms house bad luck having it in your own before baby is born and all that) I was excited but also a bit nervous about putting it together - I needn't have been the only thing that was not attached were the wheels and the instructions were so easy to follow they simply clicked into place no messing around with tools of any kind which was a bonus.
I purchased my travel system from www.kiddicare.co.uk and on there is a clear instructional video on how to attach all the bits and bobs so we had a little look at that and practised attaching the carry cot. To put the pushchair itself up there are two leavers on either handle which you pull up together then a lever on back of pushchair to push down with your foot to secure the pushchair in place this is simple enough though I do find the lever on back of pushchair which you push down with foot is on the high side - especially during those first few weeks after giving birth. To attach the carry cot and also the car seat there are two hooks which spring up out of the arm rests each side of the pushchair they come up with a push of a little button underneath now that's all good they come up easily but its a bit tricky at first to get the lining up of the hooks onto the attachment of the carry cot right as they don't stay up and one slip and they fold down. Also when it comes to putting these hooks back into the pushchair you just have to push them in with the tips of your fingers which I found and still find a bit tricky. Getting the carry cot off the pushchair is simple enough two buttons release the cot from the hooks and it lifts away. The carry cot then folds flat for easy travelling. Now a bit I didn't realise for about three weeks although it probably was on the instructional video you just have so much to take in when you have a baby I missed it is that the carry cot stays up on its own I was convinced it would only stay up when on pushchair until my mom pointed out it must stay up on its own. The key to this was hidden under mattress and cover two metal rods which slide into place making the cot firmperfect for when we visit others and also from this week my little one has been sleeping in this cot night and day as he prefers it to the moses basket and crib and sleeps in it for longer periods of time we discovered this when using it as a travel cot whilst on holiday.
Next up car seat this a baby car seat nicely padded the instructions are on the side as car seats all seem to strap in different this was helpful
when bringing little man out of hospital for the first time. The harness is a three poinnt one and fits him snuggly and can be adjusted as he grows I would say it will last him a good few months and he was a big baby born 8ib 7oz for smaller babies you will obviously get more use. The great thing about the car seat is it also fits onto the pushchair which is perfect if baby has fallen asleep and you need to go in shops quickly you lift car seat out and again it hooks onto the pushchair again tricky to start with but once your used to it simple. When it comes to removing it from the pushchair its simple once you know how however on our first outting out we didn't know got back to the car and thinking it released in same way as carry cot found it didn't and were a little stuck - thankfully there are android phones and youtube a quick look at the instructional video and we found its a lever at the back of car seat which unlocks it again simple once you know how but I'm not sure without the aid of youtube I would have worked it out and had visions of having to walk him home from the town centre.
This travel system as I said before comes with accessories you have a rain cover which clips on and off easily and has little air holes in so baby can get some air no extra help needed for using this. It comes with a cover for carry cot which velcros on and is secured to hood with two hooks making sure baby is nice and snug. It also comes with a foot muff for when he is older and I am using the pushchair on its own this fits on easily I've tried everything after the car seat incident. There is also a bar which fits on for attaching toys simple click in and off. Final accessorie is a changing bag you get a good rucksack sized bag which has a travel changing mat inside and also a mini bag I use for keeping a couple of nappies and wipes in.I find the bag is the right size for carrying a few nappies wipes spare clothes a bottle bag powder carrier, red book plus my phone and purse in. The bag also has a strap allowing me to hook it over pushchair handles for ease of use when out or you can make strap long for carrying over shoulder.
The pushchair itself allows you to adjust the seat easily to a position to suit your child this can be done with one hand squeezing two levers together. It also has adjustable handles which is good for taller people so your not hunched over the pushchair. It also comes with a shopping basket which is attached by little hooks underneath though dont get carried away it will only hold a few items ok for popping out on a stroll for bread and milk though. Putting the pushchair down is easy you simply pull a handle up use clips handles and it folds down it is quite bulky when down and takes up my whole boot I have a peugeot 206 so its not a space saver pushchair by any means. Getting round the shops with it I have found it is easy to manevoure round aisle and also when on holiday walking in the woods we found it also handled well so those for me are positives.
This pushchair cost £250 which was slightly more than the colour ones as we paid the extra for it being Mickey themed I think for the cost though and for what we have got I am very pleased - now I just need a bigger car. I will give this travel system 4 stars it looses one for the space it takes when flat and for the little clips that hold the car seat and carry cot in place not popping back in easily I have visions of not putting one back in properly and it snapping off. Overall though I'm very pleased with my first pushchair and my baby is to.
Normally a fan of buying make up from markets I bent all the rules and picked up this Foundation in Asda for £5 whilst on holiday it is currently for in Superdrug for £8.99 and of course if you shop around online prices will vary I was quite happy with the £5 price tag.
Wake me up foundation is marketed as a foundation which will reawaken you skin and leave it feeling healthy with a radiant glow. It also contains SPF 15 so is good for wear in the summer months. I choose Ivory as the winter with no sun has left my skin pale however is is available in 6 shades varying from light to dark skin tones.
The foundation comes in a glass bottle with lid and a pump action foundation release which makes a nice change to the open topped foundations I have been using. I find that a couple of pumps is enough foundation to cover my whole face. I apply in blobs to my forehead, cheeks, chin and nose and rub in with my fingers as I find this gives me the best results if you prefer a sponge by all means use a sponge.
I find that the foundation feels smooth on my skin and blends easy with no caking especially on my forehead which can sometimes get dry. The foundation matches my skin tones and hides blemishes which is what I want in a foundation and also blends well with my concealer for those spot days.
I have been using the foundation for 3 weeks now and have found it seems to actually be working as moisturiser as well as my skin is not drying out as it has done with previous foundation and it also feels softer to touch. It also lasts all day.
i would recommend this foundation and will definitely be purchasing it again.
I am a big fan of nail polish and nail art products in general. Instant Nail Effects - foil are a range of nail polishes in silver, gold or lilac which really caught my eye. I own the lilac and silver one as personally I am not a gold fan that's personal choice. The polishes are available online but I purchased mine from Superdrug for £3.99 which I think is a fair price I like Barry M because I find the products are affordable yet good quality and this polish is no different.
You apply the polish the same way as you would a normal polish with the brush provided. The brush is fairly wide and I can coat my smaller nails with one stroke whilst thumb nails take 2. The polish is surprisingly thick when it comes out of the bottle and coats the nail well - I rarely find that I have to put a second over it which means you are getting good value for money as you do not use to much polish each time you do your nails.
Once applied the drying time is very quick I would actually say it is dry in round 30 seconds and is the quickest drying polish I own beating ones which use speed drying as their selling point.
Once applied the nails look like they have a layer of foil on them and I actually bought mine as an alternative to putting foils on my nails which can sometimes be quite time consuming. The polish I have found can be quite strong especially the lilac one so make sure you are in well ventilated room when applying.
As for life of the polish I usually get around 2-3 days wear out of each coat which is quite good for me as I am constantly washing my hands at work.
For those of you who have read my previous Konad nail review this polish is also suitable for using with the nail plates and gives a great finish.
For quick drying professional looking nails I fully recommend this polish 5 stars from me.
I really enjoy painting and decorating my nails and have tried a variety of 'fad' nail products - crackle varnish, glitter, magnetic and also nail foil. But I had never before seen or heard of Konad stamping nail art until my friend bought me a kit for Christmas. I was very excited to look inside the box. Opening it up I found a metal plate which has in this case 7 designs on. My plate is called 'm2' the pictures include 2 hearts and the word love, some tiny stars, a couple of flower designs, a little animal and an animal style pattern I have since found there are many more plates to choose from to add to the collection. In the box you also get a 5ml bottle of white Konad Special Nail Polish, a scraper which has a plastic handle and a thin metal part at the bottom and a stamper which has a plastic handle and rubber part on the bottom.
Looking on the back of the box I found the instructions on how to use my nail product the instructions are as follows:
1.Apply base coat to nail
2. Apply Konad special polish to the image you want to use from the plate
3. Use the scraper at a 45 degrees angle to scrape of excess polish it advises you to do this quickly
4. Press stamper onto the design
5. Stamp image onto your nail with a gentle rolling motion
6. Apply top coat
Well that all sounded simple enough and there were pictures to match. So here goes I followed the instructions being quick and guess what nothing happened. I could not figure out what I was doing wrong but the picture would not lift from the plate. I tried about 10 times and managed to get it to work once disappointed and frustrated I put it away and forgot about it. That was until my friend who bought it for me asked how I was getting on with it and I had to admit that I couldn't figure it out. Anyway she had also purchased herself the kit and had got the hang of it so she came round to teach me.
So here's what I was doing wrong firstly when it said quickly I was panicking and getting over keen with my scraping leaving bits of nail polish where it shouldn't be. Secondly I was pushing the stamper to hard onto the design plate which meant the design was not lifting from the plate I needed to roll the stamper over the design and it picked it up straight away. Once I had cracked this bit I was away with my stamping the designs look amazing once stamped onto my nail and now I can't get enough of my stamper the best thing to do with the stamper is experiment with the designs. I have since ordered myself some more design wheels from Amazon which I am eagerly awaiting there are so many prints I will never get bored. The results of the nail stamper are in my opinion salon professional looking it can cost a small fortune to have your nail done in a salon and if you can master this you won't have to.
Design plates vary from really detailed designs for the whole nail to small quirky designs. You tube is full of inspirational videos and designs which are fantastic. Konad does recommend you use their special polish for the printing but I have been doing some experimenting of my own and so far found that 17 Magnetized polish works as does Barry M instant nail effect polish just as well. There are also a huge range of Konad special polish colours to choose from. Another tip is to use acetone nail polish remover on the plate between stamps to clean it off so the design lifts off properly.
I fully recommend this product once you have got the hang of it it's brilliant. Experiment and enjoy.
I am a huge Jenny Colgan fan and was very happy when I found this book for a small 90p in a fantastic book store in Great Yarmouth as it is one of the only books by Jenny Colgan I not read. Talking to Addison was published in 2000.
Talking to Addison focuses on the life of Holly Livingstone a florist whos life isn't going anywhere fast she is bouncing from hopeless job to job and crazy flat share to crazy flat share and this book sees her settle into a flat share with college friends Josh who can't quite make out what he wants from life either and friend Kate. Alongside these college friends is flat mate Addison a recluse who keeps himself to himself and is plugged into the computer for the majority of the day and night never venturing outside. Holly in true Jenny Colgan humour style convinces herself that she can change Addison and he is her Mr Right which leads to him coming out of the house with some serious consequences I don't want to tell you to much about the plot as I feel it ruins it for you if you do decide to read it so I will go on to tell you my feelings on the book.
Jenny Colgans books always have me laughing out loud and this one is no exception the comedy value is great and Jenny makes the everyday situations we can all relate to at one time or another come to life in a humourous way. Holly truely does believe Addison is the man for her even though really they have not spoke that much something I am sure we can all relate to at some point or another or is that just me. This is a true Bridget Jones style read which is entertaining from beginning to end and sees alot of different romances begin and fail in some hilarious ways as the 3 room mates plus Addison look for the one. This book is a true comedy romance chick flick. That said it is also a I could put down and leave for a few days and is only made up of 12 chapters which for 389 pages can be a bit hard going after a long day especially as I always like to finish a chapter before bed and don't like to stop half thorugh but thats just a personnal prefrence everyone is different. It was easy reading and the story line was easy to follow will likeable characters and showed hilarious interactions between the friendship groups within the story and shows a variety of personalities that I could relate to from my own life which made the story more real.
I give this book 4 stars its not the best Jenny Colgan book I have read but its still good
I am a huge fan of nail polish and like to have pretty nails as a result I jump on all nail related band wagons be it glitter, crackle, foils or this time magnets! I first became aware of magnetized polish when my friend sent me a message showing how she had had hers done in Boots Wolverhampton with it. I rushed down to my nearest Boots store (Walsall) only to find they did not have it not only that the assistant in their looked at me like I was mad and had never heard of it herself. Not to be set back I went to my next nearest Boots (Wednesbury) only to find they also did not stock it and the assistants there had also not heard of it frustrated by this I went online and yay they had it on the Boots website but boo I would have to pay for the privilege of having it delivered that's an extra £2.99 on top of the £5.99 it already cost so I thought I would give one more store go and Yipee I found it in the Norwich store of Boots ( I was going on holiday that way had not just drove there searching lol). So here goes......
The nail polish comes in 4 different colours which is a bit disappointing as they are all dark colours there is gunmetal, blue, lilac and teal. Not being a fan of green I skipped the teall and excited to have finally found some I bought the other 3 colours and happily set off to give them ago. For my £5.99 I got 10ml of polishes £5.99 is a little more than I would normally pay however I had a birthday voucher to me they were free. The polish comes in a round glass bottle the same as other polishes do and is applied with a brush in the same way the difference however is in the outer lid. The lid of the varnish has an extra lid on top which contains a magnet on the top around the top lid there is a ripple design and this is the design which transfers onto your nails.
So for application
To apply the nail polish pop it on your nails in the way you normally would the covering from one coat is quite good on these but if you want 2 coats you need to do it almost immediately. Once you have put the coat of nail polish on you hold the outer lid upside down over your nail now the trick to this is to use the ledge rest. At the top of the lid is a small raised ledge which you rest on the skin of your finger. This allows a gap between your nail and the magnet. You hold the lid in this way over your nail for 10 seconds and then take the lid away. This at first was a bit tricky but once you are used to it is very easy to use. Once you have took the magnet away the results on your nail is like ripples the magnet separates particles in the nail polish to cause this effect and it is possible once you have got the hang of it to use the magnet in different ways to make patterns in different directions across your nail. When you are starting out though I would recommend sticking to the resting on your skin way. I also find slightly rolling the magnet across the nail using the ledge gives a better effect.
The polish is very effective and it is moving on from the bumpy effect of crackle to a more sophisticated effect. To ensure the polish stays on I recommend a top coat of clear varnish as this gives you a few more days without the top coat I found after a day the polish needed re applying with a top coat I get an extra couple of days.
I will give this polish a 4 it looses one for not having a wide range of colours and not lasting that long on its own.
Toothpaste I will hold my hands up and admit is one of the only products I am really funny about buying. I will not buy shop own brand ones, nor will I buy any toothpaste which has bicarbonate of soda as an ingredient much to my boyfriends frustration I don't stick to one brand either always out to find somethig new. I came across this Colgate 2 in 1 Toothpase and Mouthwash also known as Icy Blast Whitening whilst browsing the shelves of good old Home Bargains it was only 99p so I thought I would give it ago.
Unlike other toothpastes on the shelf this one is unique in its shape it comes in a plastic bottle which is almost rectangular shape as you can see from the picture and has a flip lid - handy as certain people don't remember to put the lid back on normal toothpaste meaning it dries out very frustrating! The toothpaste itself can be seen through a thin strip in the plastic cover and is clear with tiny little blue bits in it also seems to have a silver glitter edge to it as well.
The packaging tells me this toothpaste with 'Clean teeth and Freshens breath' also it will 'Gently restore the natural whiteness of teeth' there is no time period stated for this restore clever as it could take forever! I have been using it for 2 weeks and I can't see a change.
Brushing my teeth in the usual way I am sure you don't need an explanation on how to do that the toothpaste seems to soak into my toothbrush. Brushing my teeth I do not feel the Icy Blast I am expecting the toothpaste is refreshing but I wouldn't say it had the wow factor. My teeth however do feel clean after brushing and the toothpaaste is not one which lingers in your mouth like some which is a pain when you fancy a cup of tea seconds after brushing your nashers!
Overall I will give this toothpaste a 3 its good but not wow for me.
Whilst browsing my local make up store for a new mascara I was intrigued to come across this Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara by Maybelline. Now this mascara is not one I set out to buy I had never seen it advertised or heard anyone else mention it before but I thought I would give it ago. I like to swap and change my make up brands and am not loyal to one company I think change is good especially if you find a great product. This mascara cost me £3.99 from the market store I believe they are around the £6.99+ mark in stores.
Mascara as I am sure you will know is meant for on your eyelashes to give them definition and bring out your eyes - I have quite long eyelashes but they are not really what I would call thick so every little helps.
So what makes this mascara different from the others?
Well it vibrates of course. The mascara from the outside is long and thin like other mascaras but at the top on the lid which is attached to the brush is a small lever button which when pressed causes a slight vibration through the brush to the tip of the bristles don't get to excited its not a crazed vibration more of a light pulse. When you open the mascara you have to remove a gold foil sticker to activate the battery and away you go.
Now I have been wearing mascara for years yet having this vibrating totally threw me when it came to application I felt all confused as to how I should be holding the brush and how to press the button at the same time as applying - to many jobs for one go so early in the morning. Once however I had the hang of it its the same as any other brush you would use.
The box says 'Alluring length'
I say I disagree my lashes look the same length as they would with any other mascara I have used before.
The box says 'Smooth definition'
I say I agree there are no clumps on my lashes and each one looks smooth.
The box says 'Shapely Curve'
I say I disagree this statement makes me think of lashes curling over at the end mine just look normal.
The box says 'Luscious thickness'
I say I disagree my lashes look smooth but not thick.
The box says 'Clump Free'
I say I agree.
The box says 'Intense colour'
I say my eyelashes look black intense may be taking a little far though.
The box says 'Shine'
I say I agree this is a mascara however I would explain as a 'wet one' when applying I have a problem that I sometimes sneeze after applying mascara strange but true I don't know if any other ladies can relate to this now some mascaras are ok when I sneeze this one however takes longer to dry and therefore I end up with black marks around my eyes not a good look.
This mascara brush supposedly vibrates 7000 times a minute it is one of those brushes which is plastic with the little bumps on it the mascara itself is enriched with jojoba oil.
Oww it burns
Wearing this mascara over the past few weeks I have found that my eyes have become sore around lunchtime and I have had a burning sensation on my eyelids mainly the bottom ones. I do wear contact lenses but I am wondering from reading the box of the mascara whether the added jojoba oil may be responsible for the burning sensation as I never had problems with other mascaras in the past in this way.
I find the vibration function of this mascara actually quite pointless and from using the mascara with the vibration and without I can not see the difference in my lashes between the 2 application techniques.
I will give this mascara a 3 as it is quite easy to apply once you have the hang of it, it is clump free and I am not going to take the burning for myself into consideration as this is a maybe a personal allergy to something in the product.
Happy shopping I hope you found this useful.
I first had this Hotpants dvd when it ws released in 2002 on VHS remember the days I used to enjoy doing it so much I actually wore the video out then never got round to getting another one as more and more fitness dvds were released and filled my shelves. Then a couple of weeks ago whilst shopping in Matalan I saw it again on dvd for £5 and had to have it.
This work out dvd is performed by choreographer Dan Karaty choreographs dance videos and live performances for the likes of Kylie, Justin Timberlake and Usher to name but a few and was also responsible for the choreography for the Cascade 'Evacuate the dancefloor' video in more recent years.
Unlike ministry of soud dvds which I feel seem to get harder and harder to follow these days this dvd gets me moving and routines are broken down into sections which are easy to pick up and follow. Alongside Dan there are 4 dancers. Dans dvd features Hannah an ex dancer as an option on the menu at the start. When this was vhs you had to watch Hannahs story first before doing the workout and I actually find her story quite motivating.
Hannah is a dancer who has been out of work for a while after surgery stopped her dancing. As a result Hannah had piled on the pounds and was looking for something to help get her figure back. The piece shows Hannah at her first weigh in at home and then shows weekly weigh ins and in 6 weeks Hannah had lost a stone and half by doing the dvd every day for an hour. Now to me that is more realistic than the dvds you get now adays where they claim you will loose that by doing them 3 times a week. It simply does not happen. The only thing which is a little confusing is Hannah does an hour but the workout is only 50 minutes in total so I can only assume that she must have done on section twice.
The dvd is split into 6 sections in each section Dan goes through the moves with you adding on an extra move each time until you have the final routine for that section which you then complete few times before moving onto the next section. The music is not songs which were played on the radio but they are quite catchy and I find myself singing along to them.
Secton one is called Bounce - here the moves are all quite bouncey and you re encourages to give it some attitude. I quite like this section and I think it warms you up nicely for what is to come. The moves are easy to follow and there is not to much talking and because there are no celebrities in it there are no fake 'oh this is so hard bits' which can get quite annoying. Bounce works your bum and thighs.
Section two is called Slide -slide is aimed at working your inner and outer thighs as you slide and pull your legs together. The main part of the routine is focused on sliding and works my muscles well.
Section three is Rush - Rush is a little faster than the first two sections and is supposed to be the hardest of all sections according to Dan personally though I find the fifth section more challenging will move onto that one in a bit. The music in Rush is quite fast and there are stretching parts which I find a little uncalled for as I don't feel so tired I require a rest.
Section four is Groove - this one is my favourite section it works your waist with lots of slow twisting moves it is sloweer than the others but still effective.
Section five is Two Step - this is the hardest and also my least favourite of the sections it involves alot of jumping in and out and making up your own moves. Beware with this one if you are a little to enthusiastic your shins will pay for it the next day.
Section six is abs and butt-ups - this is the final section where you do sit ups and bum lifts for final toning followed by a cool down.
I found this dvd as fun as I did when I first had it even though it is a little out dated now. As the sections are split up I find that the workout goes really quick variety is sometimes what is needed to keep me motivated and this certainly has variety. I can't comment on weightloss and this dvd as these days I don't have time to do it everyday however I will say that when I first had it I did do it everyday and I did see result quickly. You will also feel this dvd the next day especially in legs and stomach.
5 stars from me.
I find that the summer months are the ones that really put your foundation to the test. When you get hot during the day it is really easy for foundation to melt off as your skin sweats more (well mine does anyway). Therefore I thought for summer it would be a good idea to try a new foundation some foundations I find don't stay on very well in the winter so there is no hope for summer. I came across this Super Stay 24h foundation on my local market which claimed to be non transfer 24hr make-up and thought it was worth giving ago.
The foundation cost me £6 in Boots and Superdrug it is around the £9.50 mark and it is available in round 8-9 different skin tones so you should be able to find one to match your own. I choose to have 010 ivory as my skin is quite pale at the moment. The foundation comes in a glass bottle which contains 30ml of liquid foundation. The bottle has a plastic lid and has a pump action top to release the foundation. I find pump action foundations are good when the bottle is full as they are less messy when you get the foundation out however I do find they can be annoying when the foundation is running low and it can be tricky to get the foundation up the pump.
SuperStay 24HR Makeup claims that it will stay comfortable and looks naturally flawless all day the foundation I apply with my fingers as I find it is the best way to blend foundation in for me. Applying is easy and the foundation does seem to go onto my skin well where my skin is not dry. However in patches where my skin seems to be a little drier for me this is round my eyebrows the foundation clogs a little on the dry patches so I do hve to be careful when applying to rub it all in smoothly. The foundation also has Micro-Flex formula which is suppost to make it 24hr wear and able to withstnd heat and humidity.I would say that this is quite accurate the foundation does stay on well and although I do not make a habit of going to sleep with my make up on I have on occasion fell sleep with this on and in the morning have woken to findthat it still looks ok and has not transferred onto my pillow.
I would give this foundation 5 stars especially at the price I paid for it.
A few other things you may find useful the foundation is dermatogolist tested, fragrance-free, suitable for all skin types and is SPF 19 so is protecting your skin as well as giving gret coverage.
I have been trying to loose weight for a log time now after a 1 stone weight loss I have just got stuck so I thought it was time I thought to look at the food I am putting in my mouth as well as the exercise I am doing. My sister recommended this app to me as she had been successfully using it for 3 weeks and was beginning to loose weight.
The app is free and available on iphone and ipod you simply download it in the same way you would any other app.
Once the app is downloaded you decide a user name and put in your details - height and weight you can choose kg or pounds for this. Once registered you set a target for how much weight you would like to loose then your ready to go.
Once you have set up your app you will enter the home screen which tells you how many calories you are able to have for the day in order to meet your weight loss targets. You can then enter the Diary section where you can enter your Breakfast , Lunch, Dinner and Snacks. I was really suprised at how much food selection they have including meals on pub menu / fast food places i.e the harvester and McDonalds. For things you have daily it saves in the Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner section for quick access meanig I am able to simply press them to add to my selection. Once the diary is complete you can see how many calories you are having at each part of the day. If the food you are eating is not on the selection you are able to save it and add the calorie details. As well as calories you can also enter the nutritional value of food you are eating. The app then also provides a list of nutritional properties and shows you how much allowace you have for the day and when you have goe over it - which is good if you want a more indepth look at your diet. In the diary section you can also add cardiovascular exercise you have done and strength exercises. Again there is quite a wide variety of acivities from running to house work and you can also add your own. For each exercise you calories are shown which you have burnt and are then deducted from your daily allowance. You are also able to add your water intake to the diary and also any notes you may have on food and exercise you have done that day.
The next part of the app is Progress you have made here you can add your weight, also neck, waist and hips measurements and a graph is produced to show your progress. You can enter your weight whenever you want to I am doing it once a week and in my first week I lost 2ib which made me happy to see the graph go down.
Another great part of the app is the friends section here you can add friends and you get updates on how your friends are doing with their weightloss I find this is encouraging and can be competitive you want to try harder to beat your friends weight loss and exercise for the day. You are also able to leave comments on your friends progress to encourage them. Myfitesspal also has a message service where you can send private messages if you do not want others to read your comments.
Overall for a free app this is excellent and I would actually have been willing to pay for it. It is so simpe to operate and it has really made me think about what I eat and drink for example when before I may have had a regular coke and not thought about what was in it I can now see that 1 can of regular coke is 140 calories whilst a diet one is just 1 calorie! Its these little changes that seem to be making a difference and as I said earlier I have managed to loose 2ib in my first week which is great as my weight loss had stopped for while. The app also encourages you to eat your daily calorie and if you are under it will advise you that it is not good for you and your body may go into starvation mode and stop your weight loss. This I feel is encouraging and I think it will mae people think before trying to drop their calorie intake anymore than is recommended.
I give this app 5 stars
Hayfever Season is upon us time to wakeup sneezing and go to bed with red eyes. I have suffered from hayfever all my life some summers it seems to worse than others and over the years I have tried many different products.
Beconase is a nasal spray product which is designed to help stop the symptoms of hayfever and other nasal related allergies. Beconase nasal spray contains the active ingredient beclometasone dipropionate which is a steroid medicine. Beclometasone is used in beconase to reduce inflammation in the nasal passage which should lead to us feeling less bunged up.
Hayfever is an allergy to pollen which unfortunatley effects the nasal passage irritating the nose. Other allergies Beconase can be used for include pet allergies and dust mite allergies.
Beconase comes in a tube with a cone like spray on the top to use it you simply insert the cone into your nose press down and a fine mist of beconase is let into your nose the beclometasone then gets to work at stopping the chemicals which cause the sneezing and general miserable feeling that comes with hayfever.
Beconase unlike other hayfever tablets is not a product designed to work as soon as you start sneezing it needs time to build up (usually around 2-3days) which means you need to guess when the pollen count is going to get high or just start using as soon as the sun comes out lol. Once you have had your days of Beconase build up resistance you then need to use Beconase a couple of times a day evening and night to keep the barrier in place.
It is advisable as with any medicine that you consult your doctor first before using. My doctor did recommend Beconase to me and it can be purchased in the phamacy.
My experience of Beconase has not been brilliant. I find the spraying up the nose quite strange and to me I think it smell like I am inhaling liquid pollen from the trees and I am not keen on the way it seems to run down your throat leaving a nasty taste behind. Beconase also gives me nose bleeds when I use it so now a days I stick to tablets instead. Beconase like all medications is going to be great for some and not so good for others. For me it is not so good my body just does not like it.
I can only give Beconase 1 star as I don't think I can rate a medication that gives me nose bleeds any higher.
I found these whilst browsing the SlimFast selection in Boots 49p for 14 tablets. I have never seen them before but I quite like Lucozade and the packaging was quite bright which drew me to them so I thought I would give them ago.
The tablets come in a paper wrapper and they remind of those little Pez sweets that I used to have a kid like tiny building bricks with an orange tinge to them. The idea of the tablets I believe is to give you a little pick me up during exercise from what I can gather they are advertised as being able to give you a 'physical edge'. I am currently following the slim fast diet and am finding that whilst it is working I am sometimes lacking energy during the day and I can get hungry a little earlier than usual. Thats when these have come in handy. If I want to get an energy burst then I simply pop one of these tablets in my mouth.
Popping them in my mouth they seem to crumble on my tongue and release a orange flavour as the flavour releases I do seem to feel a bit of a pick me up energy burst which also seems to stop hunger for another half hour or so which is handy especially if I am on a late shift work when I try to have a later lunch to try and stop there being such a huge gap between lunch dinner.
I am by no means saying this is what these tablets are suppost to be used instead of eating but I am just saying that with the energy burst the food cravings ease off for a little while. These tablets are meant to give you more energy when exercising but for me they have the added bonus of helping with my weight loss mission. I have also been taking these tablets before doing my Zumba classes and have found that I do seem to have more energy in the class after taking one.
I give these tablets 5 stars
Having worn contact lenses for many years now I have never really had much problems with dry eyes and have always been able to wear contact lenses for a full day. Having discovered www.contactlenses.co.uk as a cheaper version to buying contact lenses I came across these biofinity contact lenses which are classed as continuous wear lenses meaning they are designed to be worn continuously for a set period of time - in this case 30 days.
Biofinity lenses are apparently is manufactured with Aquaform, which is an advanced silicone hydrogel material this material is suppost to let higher levels of oxygen through the lenses and therefore be better for your eyes. As they are suppost to let more oxygen to your eyes it is therefore ok to wear them 24/7. More oxygen to the eye also means they are a healthier option for eyes which means eyes should also be whiter. They also contain more water than other lenses which again is better for your eyes.
Reading about these contact lenses I thought they sounded good. I then did my research dooyoo of course and also reviews on the website all were positive and a lot of comments from people who suffer from dry eyes when normally wearing contact lenses who had found they could wear these continually for the 30 days with no problems. Now if you have bad eye sight as I do - my prescription is -6.50 and -6.00 which means I could not get by without glasses or lenses you will now that it would be a a great felling to simply be able to wake up and see! Laser eye does not appeal to me as I have paranoia I would be the one who something bad happened to and I would loose my sight altogether but these I was thinking could be the next best thing. It cost me £30 for 3 month supply - more expensive than other monthly disposables I could get from the sight but the same price as I used to pay from specsavers for monthly disposable so I thought the price was reasonable.
When these lenses arrived I couldn't wait to try them. I popped them in my eyes in the usual way they seemed slightly thinner than my normal lenses which I had been wearing that day and I could tell the difference instantly they did feel more comfy on my eyes infact I couldn't feel I was wearing them at all. A positive start I felt. Anyway I was feeling good about wearing my lenses reading my book without glasses before sleep what a great feeling turning the light off still being able to see but unfortunately that was where my dream ended. 3.30am I woke up my eyes felt dry and sore not as sore as when I have feel asleep in other lenses but uncomfortable enough to mean getting out of bed to take them out in the middle of night so I could go back to sleep in comfort and wake up with shattered dreams and the usual rummage for glasses.
That was not my only try either I gave it a day and a night thinking maybe because I had worn other lenses first it would make a difference. Second time round the lenses were comfortable during the day but no good for the night by 10 o'clock I could feel them and so again took them out before sleeping.
The advantages for me.......
These lenses are comfortable to wear have lasted the month and can be left to soak in multi purpose contact lens solution no problems a special formula is not needed.
The disadvantage for me......
They did not feel comfortable enough during the night for me to keep them in and also bear in mind I do not have dry eye problems with any other lenses.
With all this taken into consideration I am still going to give these lenses 3 stars as they are comfortable to the point where you can't feel them during the day just a shame for me I couldn't wear them all night.
Thank you for reading I hope you found this useful.
Also posted on other review sites under the same name.
Quick note...... You may want to check with your optition first before trying these lenses overnight, but I am sure you all are able to use your common sense when it comes to your own eyes.
