Now I've tried various different razors because (between you and me) I like a nice tidy 'bikini region' and I just can't face the pain of waxing! So I bought this with high hopes and it didn't let me down! After watching all the girls on the ad prancing around to Bananarama's 'Venus' I was expecting smooth skin and that was exactly what I got!!
I bought the pack with the plastic holder that suckers itself to the bathroom tiles (very practical) and was pleased to find that that the Venus was very easy to use and did not irritate my (delicate skin) at all! I was smoother than I have ever been even without a decent shave gel! Another HUGE bonus is the fact that the blades last way, way longer than the cheaper blades I have bought in the past so whilst they are pricey they are well worth it. Cheap blades are false economy and give you razor burn - fact!
Laura Mercier Primer is like skin treatment and a skin perfector in one! It is full of really good stuff - vitamins and antioxidants - so straight away you know it's going to protect your skin from all those environment nasties just like a girly force field - hoorah!
I have the original as I have combination skin - and I love it! It has the consistency of a moisturising gel and is white (not tinted). You need to put on your moisturiser, wait a few seconds for it to sink in then smooth on a small amount of the primer (a little goes a loooonngg way). I'll give you tip ladies - keep it in the fridge and it will help to calm any morning puffiness and even help soothe sunburn! Double hoorah! Wait a few moments before applying your foundation then just apply it as normal. I know it sounds like a faff but it is sooo worth it as you will find your foundation lasts sooo much longer!
I personally find it helps my foundation go on smoother and it lasts all day (or night) whatever I am up to! From a make-up artist point of view its great for helping your foundation glide - rather than sit in/on - any fine lines or dry patches. It really does help your base stay fresh too! I always recommend this to brides. Even if you don't want to wear a base you can put it on anyway as you know it is doing its 'force field' bit and helping to protect your skin!
Like most of the Laura Mercier products it is pricey but it lasts a long time and really does make a difference to your base. I would recommend it to anyone!
Laura Mercier is truly the Queen of creating perfect skin and the Secret Concealor is no exception! I have very dark circles under my eyes so was more than happy to try this. I worked as a Laura Mercier make-up artist so had the privilege of trying a lot of her products. Firstly I love the cute little pot. Secondly I love the creamy consistency of this concealor. It is best applied with a brush due to the way it is packaged (in fact take a tip from a pro ladies you will always get better coverage if you use a brush to apply your concealor - its more precise and you use less product so it lasts longer). The concealor has light reflective properties and goes on smoothly and evenly around the eyes. For more coverage you can mix it with the Laura Mercier secret camouflage but even on its own you will find it makes the eye area look much brighter and more evenly toned.
This concealor is best for under the eyes and any areas you wish to highlight and even out - around the nose, around the mouth etc. This is not a good concealor for spots as it highlights (not what you want to do to a spot) but its great for what it is intended for and lasts really well once set lightly with powder. I found that my dark circles looked a lot less prominent and the concealor was easy to blend and a pleasure to use. The product doesn't last you as long as the Secret Camouflage and is pricey but it's a great concealor that almost justifies its large price tag.
