Why did i waste my money!!
So you buy the xbox 360 take it home expecting to play online right out of the box. You cant. The xbox accepts both wirless and ethernet connections but if you want your system running on wirless you will have to buy an adapter for about £40. So now your online you now have to pay a subscription for either a gold package or silver which on average will cost you another £40. If you want a wirless controller then you will have to but the recharging cable for £15.
Now onto the games, all the disc`s are normall dual layer dvd`s with a max capacity of 9gb so once theyve cramed the graphics on theres not much room left for actual gameplay or vice versa. If you want to go the route of HD then you will need to buy a HD DVD player for another £50, but even then HD DVD lost the race to blu ray so whats the point.
Ever heard of the red rings of death, well buy a xbox and you will soon. They are very prone to overheating which leads to bits melting inside and your left with a useless lump of expensive plastic. If your in your manufactures waranty then your ok because xbox are very good at collecting and repairing them as this is a global problem.
Good idea but it starts to get expensive what with having to buy all the extras just to get the same performance as a ps3. It just doesnt have the feel of a 7th gen console.
The ps3 slim may be smaller than previous models but i feel that it is lacking in the tech department. To this end i sold mine and reverted back to an 80gb Phat model.
I say this because some models are backwards compatible ( you can can play ps2 and 1 games) but not the slim. Also on all "Phat" models you have the option to install another OS such as Linux, but not on the slim. This can be very useful as you can use your Ps3 as a supped up computer. Usb ports = 2 (compared to 4 on other models) which is ok for most users but when you start buying all the little gadgets that come with it such as headset, playtv or the eye toy you will soon get fed up with having to change all your cables around. Also Sony in all their wisdom have decided to remove the media card reader which is a great way to transfer data around especialy once you have run out of USB`s. This isnt that important but i feel i should make you aware, the have taken the main power switch awa
y so now all you have is the standby switch at the front.
If you want to keep it in a vertical position you will have to buy a new stand for it which is sold seperatley.
On the plus side they have got rid of the black gloss finish and replaced it with a matt black finish which isnt so fingerprint and dust attractive.
In summary i feel that Phat models are better than the slim purely because you get more sofware capabilites (Linux) and more hardware (Usb). But if all want your ps3 for is gaming then you cant go wrong also 120gb of hard drive space cant do any harm.
I was bought this satnav for Christmas and was very pleased.
Very easy to use with a good size lcd touch screen.
It also has changable info on the map screen such as Expected time of arrival or how many Km`s, miles etc. You can also show all of these options at once. This device will feed you live traffic reports which i find are amazingly helpful when trying to avoid traffic. You can also link this to your mobile phone via bluetooth and then be able to view your contacts and make and recieve calls all from your sat nav. Excellent if you dont have a hands free kit.
I personally am a lorry driver by trade and i did try using this for my job but it was unable to keep up especially in central london when it was needed most. I found going under large bridges would knock out the signal ( i dont think Navman can do anything about this) and on a number of occasions in london it would randomly give me a message "a route can not be calculated to your destination" and thats it, it would leave me by the road having dig out the old paper maps. Also with regards to my profession this sat nav does not provide you with information on Width restrictions and Low Bridges but then that is probably a speacilised requirement as it dont affect many average cars.
Now ive used a TomTom along side this and the TT usualy calculated a quicker and easier route. The NM seems to love country roads even though the settings are for main roads and motorways.
Overall a good device if you want it for your car for family trips and so on but i dont feel it has the guts to be used in a fast paced built up enviroment.
I had massive expectations for this game but as with many things it failed to live upto them. The idea of 256 players all battiling it out sounded too good to miss, but now i believe bigger isnt always better.
I have to praise the developers for using Sony servers instead of players machines as this allows for smooth gameplay. Also with 256 players it can all get a bit confusing but they implemented a system where you only recieve information related to your Squad. This game is supposed to be in 1080i but i dont see it myself, the graphics of this game reminds me of a ps2 but then saying that once you get stuck into the game ou will hardly notice.
This game is 100% online play with no single player mode. I feel that there could be more available missions as at the moment there is only 4 different missions and i soon found myself getting bored but the developers have said that whole game is updatable so i wouldnt be surprised if we see an update coming within the next few months.
Overall this is a good game and a great new concept. A great start, it can only get better. Still MW2 kicks arse
How to describe this camera in one word? AMAZING.
This dslr camera is designed as a starter camera for all those budding photographers. If you know the basics of photography then you are on the right track. Very easy to use. Easy to maintain, Easy to take great pictures. I feel that this camera could have been more than 6.1mp but for your everyday photo needs i dont think this is a problem.
Oh before i forget this camera is extremley light. Nikon cameras are usually of a very high standard and the D40 has not let them down. I started with this dslr and i thoroughly recomend it to anyone thinking of amatuer photography but not for profesional work. Graet value for what you get and hours of fun figuring out what each and every setting will do.
Do your self a favour and buy this camera. Peace out
Ive had this LCD TV for 6 months now and ive had nothing but trouble with it. For some reason the HD will only work when it wants to. The screen will just randomly turn off or freeze. And to make all this better Samsung tell me that there is nothing wrong with this TV even though the havent been out to look at it. Granted the TV looks good with its piano gloss finish but it then becomes a fingerprint and dust magnet. The sound quality is great and i hve found it to be very easy to use. Putting aside my own issues with this TV, this is an excellent LCD when you get a working one. One other issue i have been unable to find a way to connect the TV to my surround sound system, also there is no headphone jack. Overall a good standard LCD HD TV
