      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Cheap, simple, a must have!

      -THE STORY-
Myself and my boyfriend received a mini George Foreman grill as a Christmas gift. We had just moved into a small flat together and added it to our amazon wishlist as we thought it would be handy to make quick, healthy meals.

      -WHAT DOES IT COOK?-
The mini George that I have is just right for 2 people. I have tried cooking everything in it; sausages, chicken, steaks, onion and it also makes a mean cheese toastie! It's important to keep checking the meat or whatever you have in there as if you don't move it around it can get stuck and start to burn. This is especially important if cooking sausages as the ones on the end don't cook as fast so it's important to swap them around!

      -POSITIVES-
The George is a really easy way to cook meat quickly and efficiently and to top it all off - it squeezes out all the excess fat! It is ridiculously easy to use so even the worst cooks can create a tasty dish. It also heats up really quickly so you don't have to wait around to stat cooking.

      -NEGATIVES-
The only downside to the George is cleaning it. You obviously have to let it cool before you can clean it but this means that any residue goes hard and sticks! I tried many things to clean it from hot soapy water to cillit bang but here is my TOP TIP - Use antibacterial wet wipes to clean your George! It takes off all residue quickly and easily!

      -OVERVIEW-
I believe that everyone should own a George! Even if you love spending a long time cooking complex dishes, the George will come in handy for something! Remember - the mini George is great for 2 but any more people you will need to uppgrade!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Great for general use.

      -THE STORY-
When I started university I decided to get an all-in-one printer as I thought it would be useful for everyday student stuff. It was useful, but halfway through the year it died on me all of a sudden for no obvious reason. I bought a replacement and a few months later the same thing happened. After explaining these events to my Dad he said that he had always relied on Epson printers. I didn't have much money but I needed a replacement so I searched and found the cheapest Epson option - the Stylus SX125.

      -IS IT EASY TO USE?-
The printer was nice and easy to set up. I'm no computer/printer expert but I also hate reading boring instruction manuals and I had no trouble figuring out how to set it up myself. It comes with a cd, as most printers do, which is easy to install and is a big help if you want to use the scanning function of the printer. There's not too many buttons so it's pretty easy to work out how to photocopy (I just pressed all of them until it did what I wanted it to do!). If you're printing and the ink runs out, a little box pops up to tell you and you can click 'show me how' to be lead step by step through the ink changing process. Despite the fact that I've changed the ink several times now, I still follow it just to be sure.

-HOW GOOD IS THE PRINT QUALITY?-
When I was a student, I was mainly printing articles etc to read but I also printed essays and other documents that needed to be up to a certain standard for my university course. The default setting for the printer was completely satisfactory for this purpose. I have also printed several photographs on the printer. I played around a bit with the print settings and was impressed with the quality despite the fact that I used ordinary paper rather than photo paper. The only fault is that if you are printing a document that is several pages long, gaps sometimes appear in the printing. This is fine if you notice it as you just need to run a print head clean (which sometimes needs to be done twice) but it is quite annoying if you only realise once the whole document has printed and wasted all your ink!

-ARE THE INK CARTRIDGES GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY?-
I normally purchase a multipack of genuine Epson ink cartidges at around £30 for my printer but the printer takes 4 separate ink cartridges so you can just replace one - they cost around £9 each. i always buy my cartridges online as they have much better offers, After having previous bad experiences with compatible cartridges, I didn't want to risk using them in this printer! Now that I have graduated, these cartridges last me around 3-4 months as I do not use the printer frequently. When I was a student and printing almost every day, I would replace the cartidges every 2 months or so, especially the black as most of my printing was for documents.

      -SCANNING AND COPYING-
The scanning function is very easy to use if you use the software that comes with the printer. It gives you enough options to get what you want but not so many that it is overwhelming. Copying is equally as easy with one button to press for a black and white copy and a different one for colour copying - and it's as easy as that!

      -AESTHETICS-
As a printer goes, this one is pretty standard! It's compact and tidy and in my personal opinion, that's all you really need from a printer's appearance. I have been slightly careless with my printer when moving house and the lid that goes on the scanner has come unattached but it still works fine. The paper tray has also come off but it still does everything it's meant to (my print outs just end up on the floor!).

      -SUMMARY-
Overall I have been very pleased with how this printer has worked considering how much it cost. It has been the most reliable printer I have had in a long time and would definately recommend it as a cheap all rounder.

Get's the thumbs up from a Zumba instructor - but you should still try a live class :)

      -THE STORY-
I first discovered Zumba through my Gym. As a dance student, I was looking to improve my fitness but hated the repetitiveness of the treadmill. As a dancer, I specialised in Ballet and had also been studying African People's Dance - Zumba gave me the opportunity to increase my dance knowledge as well as getting fit! After one class I was hooked and immediately enrolled on the course to become an instructor. I successfully started up my own classes and my boyfriend bought me the first Zumba game as a congratulatory gift. Although I enjoyed this game, the person I had to follow on the screen was only a silhouette which sometimes made it hard to work out certain moves. This Christmas, my boyfriend bought me the second game, which was a drastic improvement on the first.

      -WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS?-
The Zumba game has many different options to suit each individual. You can choose to do a short (20 mins), mid-length (45 mins) or full-length (60 mins) class. Within this, you can choose the intensity of the class (low, medium or high) and then the game picks out a selection of routines for you to follow. You can also choose to just do one routine, or to learn the moves for each dance style in more detail - both options are helpful if you want to perform the routines to a high technical level but if you're just looking for a fun way to get fit, there's no need to learn the moves in as much detail.
When you start the game you can make a profile for yourself where you can enter your weight. The game then keeps track of how often you play, how long you play for and how many calories you approximately burn in each session. You can then update your weight whenever you view this information in order to monitor your improving fitness.

      -IS IT EASY TO FOLLOW?-
Unlike the first Zumba game, the computerised person you follow in Zumba 2 looks like a real person and it is very easy to identify which body part is doing what. There are also 'extras' in the background so you can check out the scene without losing track of the routine. A small box also pops up on the side to indicate what move is coming next - but if you miss this, it doesn't really matter. Much like a live Zumba class, it's easy to pick up the movements as you go along. You wear a belt which holds the Wii remote in order to track your movements and a small symbol in the corner flashes when you do the correct movements. This is monitored by the game and at the end of the class you are given a percentage for your technique.

-DOES IT GET BORING AND REPETITIVE?-
The same routines do pop up frequently but this gives you the opportunity to learn some of the movements which, in turn, makes the experience more enjoyable. You can also choose different 'scenes' where the instructor is performing, such as a city rooftop or a pool party. Also, you get points depending on how good your technique is which unlocks new routines and scenes, providing an incentive to keep using the game.

      -SUMMARY-
As a Zumba instructor, I am constantly learning and practising new routines for my classes but I still cannot get enough of this game! It's easy to follow and great fun. According to the game statistics, I burn around 200 calories per 20 minutes which is pretty good if you take into account that I'm loving every minute!

Great gift for someone of any age!

      -THE STORY-
When I awoke on Christmas morning 2011, I was surprised to see that Santa had visited me. Not because I had been naughty that year, but because I'm 22 and living with my boyfriend. With all the excitement of a 5 year old, I tore through my stocking, flinging wrapping paper all over our flat, and I discovered that Santa had brought me a Mr Grassyhead.

      -WHAT IS IT?-
After all the unwrapping was done, I was keen to start the Mr Grassyhead process. Mr Grassyhead is basically a ball of sawdust with grass seeds on the top, wrapped in some tights and completed with some goggly eyes. He comes with a small polystyrene pot which he sits in and you fill it up with water as often as needs be. I filled up the pot with water, sat my Mr Grassyhead in it and placed him in the kitchen. If I'm honest, I wasn't really expecting much.

      -DID IT WORK?-
After being away for a couple of days to visit family, I returned to a still-bald Mr Grassyhead. Needless to say I was dissapointed, but still continued to fill up the water pot. After a few more days, small spikes of grass started to poke through the top of Mr Grassyhead's head... yay! Before I knew it, Mr Grassyhead had a full head of hair that stuck up 3 inches above him!

      -HOW LONG DID IT LAST?-
By regularly topping up the polystyrene pot with water, Mr Grassyhead lasted about 2 weeks. He might have lasted longer but after that I forgot to water him. His 'hair' went dry and floppy, so I had to change his hair to a flatter style but he still looked great!

      -SUMMARY-
Overall, Mr Grassyhead provided me with fun and laughter for the 2 weeks that he lasted. It is great to watch him go from bald to bountiful and you can even cut his 'hair' into whatever style you want! I think he is a great gift for someone of any age.

Not your average tacky celeb perfume.

Every morning, I always had 20 minutes to kill between when my boyfriend dropped me into town on his commute and when I had to start work. As I always forgot to spritz my perfume in my hurry to leave the house, I would head to Boots to try out a new perfume each day. As a Rihanna fan, I decided to give hers a go and was pleasantly surprised. At work, a colleague complimented me on my new scent and asked me what I was wearing. Slightly embarrassed, I said that it was Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur. About a week or so later, I ended up complimenting the same girl on her perfume, to which she replied that she had liked mine so much that she had gone out and bought it. It seemed only right that I should purchase the perfume for myself. Now I'm halfway through my second bottle and I never forget to spray Reb'l Fleur before I leave. It is perfect for day or night time and always receives a compliment.
