I use to work for the Slug and Lettuce when it was originally at the Lansdowne Spot in Bournemouth, a few years ago it moved and took over what use to be Casa in the town center.
Now I know I wasn't the happiest Bartender when I was there but I worked hard everyone got served and things were done. Unfortunately this doesn't seem the case with any of the bar staff now.
On numerous amounts of visits with my boyfriend and friends we have found our self confused on whether it is table service or order at the bar. Many time we have gone up to the bar then were told to sit down and someone will be with us... no one did for 15mins and within that time a few people had gone up and got drinks! On other various times we have sat down in there main restaurant bit and had very good service but once again another problem, when the shift changes you could almost walk out without paying! We had to walk round trying to find someone we could pay, on one visit the manager (i guess), was extremely rude and with a couldn't careless attitude, this was a shame because the two waitresses were very good.
Anyway phew little rant out of the way!!...The food quality also varies, you can have very tasty food with a variety of Starters And Snacks,
Sharing platters, Meat dishes, Fish dishes, Chicken dishes, Burgers, Salads, Pastas And Rice Dishes, Tostadas, Sandwiches And Wraps, Side Orders and Desserts! Other times the meat can be dry and the food lacks some taste. Food ranges from the price of £3 to a platter at £15, this does vary to each location.
Recommended dishes: Platters to share The Ultimate Platter, chicken breast pieces, wasabi tempura mixed vegetables, pork ribs, crispy fried potato wedges, garlic ciabatta strips, beer-battered onion rings, served with BBQ sauce, salsa, crème fraîche and a spring onion dip. These are all great for sharing with friends and an extra bonus is Mondays when they have 50% off their menu!!
They also have an offer of 2 courses for £10 this can be a starter or main. This is Tuesdays to Fridays from the 5th of October to the 19th so in finishes tomorrow.
I do tend to go here to drink rather than eat. I love their cocktails and on Thursday Fridays and Saturdays they are 2 for 1 before 10pm! The Fruity Sailor it has Sailor Jerry spiced rum and triple sec orange liqueur, with fresh lime juice, orange juice and lemonade. .... its lovely! The cocktails are all around £6 for one cocktail.
Although the service has someway to go the atmosphere is nice with wood flooring and comfy chairs. The one in Bournemouth has an outdoor seating area which is lovely in the sun, and for any smokers.
I was looking for a simple but expressive ornament for a gift when I came across the Willow Tree collection by Susan Lordi.
I was buying a birthday present for a friend who is a dancer and found the perfect figurine. It was simple with nothing fancy going on but the expression and stance of the figurine bought all emotion of dance in to one.
The figurines soon became a collection point for myself. They have no face and the expression comes straight from how they are standing, sitting, what they are holding etc, they are elegantly simple which is surrounded by peace and serenity.
They come with a little card telling you about the figurine for example one of mine says 'Allowing dreams to soar' which is on the Angel of Freedom figurine.
I personally find that sometimes expression on faces can look non expressive, take away what the figurine is about and depending on the artist some times look quite scary. Thats why I like these ornaments more.
These figurines are a lovely gift for times/events in peoples life. They have figurines that express love, hope, faith, life, death, birth, hobbies and many more. These figurines range from £13-£68, this includes the nativity set they do (6 figurines). They do a Angel Collection that come with wire wings that are priced at £13, these are my favorite.
They also make Keepsake Boxes (ranging from £13-£17), Candle-holders (£17), Greeting Cards (ranging from £2.50-3.50), Hanging Ornaments (ranging from £8-10), Memory Boxes Collection (£20-24), Photo Frames (ranging from £18-23) and Plaques (£13).
As you can tell there is a huge selection to chose from. They come in a brown cardboard box packed with polystyrene to keep them safe from breakage, the name of the Figurine and a description of what it represents.
I remember my Aunt buying me my first ever Chicken Story book, and I have never looked back. Through my childhood I turned to these books to help me through life.
They are full of individual Life Love and learning stories and I found they really did tough my soul.
I lost my mum a few years ago now and I found myself turning to this particular series of the books. I cried but I enjoyed I related to a few of them and the others I felt so much for the writers.
This book inspired me to write a journal and to write poetry and to express myself. I recommend them heavily for any teenager, woman or human who is interested in helping themselves and knowing that your not alone in how we can feel sorrow joy and loss.
The books are around £8.99 depending if you buy them from bookstores but supermarkets seem to be the cheapest if you can lay your hands on them!
I have lent these to friends and have a shelf full that will be kept for my own children.
WOW what a great warm up drink!
I recently purchased this at our local Whittards store which was on offer 3 for 2 at £5 each. In the store I go into you can always sample some of the teas and hot chocolates and the service is always very good which makes the experience really good and knowing you are buying a decent product!
It is advertised as ''a dream in a cup. The most scrumptious of all'' and is just that it is almost sinful!!
The tub is 400g and is in a lovely designed easy storage box with a secure lid.
You sprinkle 4-5 heaped teaspoons into a cup of hot milk and stir, the smell is mouth watering and the taste is unbelievable almost like it is melted white chocolate your drinking without the thickness. This would make a lovely stocking filler for christmas!
I find that 4-5 teaspoons can be a little much but this could be down to the size of the cup being used.
Its a lovely drink for easing sleep, I advise to snuggle up with a cup in front of a film and relax.
I also like the Cranberry and Raspberry tea drink they do for during the day.
WOW I LOVE THIS SITE
Up to date fashion in a range of sizes and colours. You would find it hard not to find something that suits you!
My main problem with shopping is for shoes. I have size 3 feet and they are quite wide. Normally heels don't fit very well when i buy them but i could not believe it when i ordered a pair from boohoo and they turned up the following day and FITTED!!! This obviously was then followed by two more pairs...all fitted the same and are SO comfortable. Its so nice to find a company who's shoes fit me. I'm sure I'm not alone.
A few clothes I bought weren't suitable when i got them and I easily sent them back the following day at the post office with no hassle the money was back in my account 2 days later.
I did buy one pair of shoes and the colour did not match to what was on the screen so i just sent them back and reviewed the product on their site. I did order a cardigan but that went out of stock. They emailed me with an apology but because they advertise they only have a certain amount in stock I was well aware I might not get it.
Boohoo is a fast shopping experience good quality cheap clothes and shoes. 14 day money back and quick returns. If you order before 4pm it will come the next day. I actually ordered something about 5pm and it still came the next day!!
What a great Kettle. I have owned this Kettle in March and I am amazed that it still works just as well as the first day I bought it.
I moved into a new flat, very modern but with a small kitchen. I initially bought a wireless kettle (on the hob type) to save space. After a week I had already got fed up with the hissing sound, burning my hands constantly on it and it taking so long to boil. I went to my local Argos and flicked thought the catalogue.
After deciding whether it mattered if the kettle looked nice on display or not it came down to two types this one and Russell Hobbs Glass Illuminating Kettle. Both very similar and not much difference in price. Although when you compare the two there is a certain sophisticated style to this kettle. It also looked like it would pour out better and be nicer to hold.
I purchased it for £50 and have never regretted it!! It holds 1.7 litres which is great when the family is around! At other times when its just myself and my partner we can just put the minimum water needed for us in it and it still works ok. It boils 4 cups worth within 46 seconds! It stays warm in the kettle for 10mins.
Yes it does get limescale like any other kettle and unfortunately because its glass you can see it however this is easy to fix with liquid limescale removal which you just place in the kettle boil and rinse and this lasts for a bout a month, I don't have any other problems with this kettle.
It looks great, boils water fast, holds the temperature, is comfy to lift and pours well, I get compliments on it when friends come over.
Paco Rabanne 1 Million
I purchased this for my Boyfriend. I smelt it on a tester card last Christmas with a few others. I wondered around the shopping center for a bout an hour doing other shopping. I pulled the cards out and smelt them again, the smell of the Paco Rabanne was still on the card the others had a vague smell to them but they were not as strong as they were originally (the others were Diesel, CKin2u and a cheap one Joop). The Paco Rabanne was a clear winner within those choices. I purchased this from the Perfume shop for around £45 for a 100ml. I soon realised that the 200ml was better value at £65 but this was not in stock at the time.
The scent stays on and you can certainly tell when someone is wearing this. It is a great present for any man, and I say women too because it smells so nice on men ;-)
It is a trendy Eau De Toilette which plays with sensual smells of sexy blood orange, grapefruit, cinnamon, mint, rose, spices, light leather, white wood, patchouli and amber.
The packaging and ml
It is presented very well in a cardboard rectangle gold box, with the Eau De Toilette inside. The acutal Eau De Toilette is mainly made of glass however the gold sheeting over it is a tin finish with plastic underneath.
The bottle of 1 Million is available in 50ml (£30) 100 ml (£45) and 200ml (£65). You can purchase box gift sets and they do matching Deodorant Spray and Shower Gel, which compliment the Eau De Toilette.
He uses this almost everyday and has only just come to it running out 10 months after purchase. He sprays 2-3 sprays on and it stays on him throughout the day, I can still smell it when he comes home from work, not as strong to when he left but still a good noticeable smell when he walks in the door.
I will be buying this for him again for Christmas with no hesitation.
He loves it, I love it and who doesn't want to own a bullion!
