      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Brilliant multiplayer, awful single player

      Road to Wrestlemania:
This mode is new to the Smackdown series, and it's just awful. You get to play six different storylines; John Cena, CM Punk, Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Triple H and Batista/Rey Mysterio. The story lines in the mode are pretty generic and boring. Half of the time you'll find yourself winning a match only to be ambushed afterwards. Most matches can't even be lost, you have to win to progress which makes this mode so linear. What really tips the iceburg though is the Undertaker's story; where he has a big feud with Santino Marella, Finlay and the Boogeyman. Seriously... This even involves certain wrestlers being 'possessed' by the Boogeyman's 'dark magic'. I wouldn't be surprised if this story was written by someone who had never watched wrestling.

      Career Mode:
In previous games, career mode would have different storylines which you could follow with any wrestler you like. This time around they've removed the storylines completely, choosing to replace it with Road to Wrestlemania instead. So all career mode really consists of is 'paths' that you can play to win certain titles. It's really not very exciting, I only played through it to gain experience for my created wrestler and get a couple of achievements.

      Roster:
The rosters for Smackdown and Raw are fairly decent, no complaints from me there. What I don't like is the fact that there aren't any legends in the game, apart from Ric Flair! I don't know what they were thinking not including legends like The Rock, Stone Cold, Mick Foley, Andre the Giant, etc. I would much sooner play as these legends than nearly all of the wrestlers on the current roster, and I'm sure many older fans of wrestling (including casual fans) will agree with me.

      Graphics:
The wrestlers themselves look pretty good. The crowd on the other hand look like they belong in a PS1 game. I know that crowd graphics are pretty poor in most games, but I still find this to be a minor annoyance as it just looks rubbish and out of place.

      Create Modes:
One of the best things about this game is the create a wrestler mode. There are tons of different customisable options, and once you're finished you can create him/her a moveset, finishers and an entrance. The list of available music intros are poor, but other than that the movesets and create a finisher are pretty good.

      Multiplayer:
This for me is where the game shines. As much as I dislike the single modes in this game, I still love playing against friends.

      Conclusion:
I haven't watched WWE in a couple of years and I'd describe myself as a casual wrestling fan. The last game I played was Smackdown 07 on the PS2. Graphically 09 is a big step up, but other than that I feel that the game has gone backwards. I'd only recommend buying this if you're planning to play this a lot with friends. The single player just isn't worth it.

Brilliant Console, let down by the hardware issues

The Xbox 360 was released by Microsoft in 2006, and has fully established itself as a well respected console.

      Xbox Live:
This is a service that as to be paid for, but it is well worth it if you have friends that you regularly play with. There are plenty of good sports and shooter titles out there for multiplayer including; Madden, Fifa, Halo, Call of Duty and Gears of War. Games like this are tailored for multiplayer and are great fun, especially with friends.

      Games:
The selection of games on 360 is one of the consoles strong points. There are many good shooters and RPG titles. Exclusives include highly rated games such as Halo 3, Gears of War and Mass Effect.

      Graphics:
The graphics are a big step up from the days of Xbox and PS2. Final Fantasy XIII is a fine example of the amazing visuals that can be produced on the 360. Along with the PS3, the 360 have really upped the standard of graphics.

      Hardware issues/flaws:
Red Ring of Death. This is a major flaw in the design of the 360 and the amount of people that have had this hardware failure is ridiculous. Thankfully Microsoft will replace/fix your 360 for free if you do get the red rings. The machine is also quite loud, which is a minor annoyance.

      Conclusion:
I'll give the console a 4/5, losing a star because of the terrible hardware issues. Other than this the 360 is a brilliant console, with a great library of games to choose from.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A great addition to Oblivion

The Shivering Isles is a large DLC add-on for Oblivion. It's set in the large isles of madness, where Sheogorath the king of the island wants your help.

The Shivering Isles really does the theme of madness well. It's completely different from Cyrodiil. As much as I enjoy the great world of Cyrodiil the whacky change is welcome, it's good to have a completely different world to experience in the game. There are a number of new unique creatures that fit the style.

There are also lots of new colourful weapons and armour which are great. It's great to be able to take so much good loot back to Cyrodiil with you after completing the DLC.

I think this DLC is great value for money as the content should keep you occupied for a while. There are many new quests in the story line and the armour and weapons will give you great use after completing it as well. This DLC is weird and wonderful and increases the length of Oblivion (which is pretty long anyway)!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Fairly Average

This film is about a 'journalist' (Johnny Depp) and his 'attorney' ( Benicio Del Torro) on a 'business' trip to Las Vegas, only the business takes a backseat as the two men get high on a number of assorted drugs. They find themselves tripping around Las Vegas, and there is a myriad of confusing and crazy scenes which do a good job in showcasing the effect the drugs are having on them. Some scenes were really funny, when Depp is trying to catch imaginary bats at the start of the film, for example. Other scenes I felt dragged on and got a bit boring.

I found the plot quite intriguing; I wanted to know more about these two 'drug abusers' throughout the film. There is a lot of mystery about it, how do these guys seem to have so much money? How is Depp a well known journalist?

Depp and Del Torro do a brilliant job acting. Depp especially brought a real wackiness to the role. In conclusion I thought this film was bizarre, not bad, but nothing particularly special.

      3/5.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Very useful for keeping in touch with people

Facebook is a great networking tool. It has a very simple design which works really effectively. On the homepage you'll get a news feed which will show all the recent statuses of your friends and groups (that you are following). You'll also be able to hide feeds from anyone that you don't want to see, which can be quite useful if there are particular friends whose updates annoy you.

Groups are a great way to connect and discuss with people who have similar views as you (political, religious, sports teams, etc).

Every member has a wall which will show their recent status updates, photos and videos. You can also leave comments on your friend's wall, and it's very easy to communicate with people as there's no limit to the number of people that can comment on a status update.

The photos are well organised; you can be tagged in photos and all of these will be shown on the photo section of your profile (well this might not so good if there are lots of pictures of you caught off guard :P).

There are also lots of games and applications that can be used. There are some very popular games such as Farmville and Mafia Wars that many people play. These games are pretty basic, but can be enjoyable depending on what you like.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Worth the 400 MS Points

UNO is a classic card game played between four players, the object of the game is to get rid of all of your cards first. To get rid of a card it has to match with the colour (red, green, yellow, blue) or the number with the card in the middle. Of course it's not as straightforward as just numbers and colours. There are cards that will hinder your opponents progress such as adding 2 or 4 cards to the player next to you, switching the direction of play and also skipping the next persons turn.

It's a really simple game that works really well. Games can go on for ages, it's possible to have 15 cards at one point in a game, making a comeback to win. Of course this isn't the most tactical or challenging of games as there is a lot of luck involved, but to reiterate it's just simple and fun.

Well worth getting, especially at the low cost of 400 Microsoft points.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Worth the buy

      Story:

You play Niko Belic who has come to New York from Eastern Europe. Things are supposedly going well for his cousin in the city, who is running a very successful taxi firm. Of course, when Niko arrives he discovers there are soon problems... The plot was decent, although nothing particularly special. I think it lost a bit of it's quirkiness that it's had with previous titles. IV feels more serious, which is a bit of a shame I feel.

Some of the missions themselves were a bit generic and boring. The missions on the motorbike were irritating and I had to replay them a good few times.

      Gameplay/Setting:

I really like this game, but it just does not live up to GTA: San Andreas for me. The game world is much smaller than it is in San Andreas, and there are less additional things to do. One of the things I loved about San Andreas was the sheer size of the map. I have no faults with the gameplay as it still feels like a typical GTA title.

      Multiplayer:

Multiplayer on this game is really enjoyable and will let you get more out of it.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Worth trying if you enjoy JRPG's

To start off with I'm a fan of Final Fantasy games and really enjoyed it's predecessor FFXII. I thought XIII was fairly average, which was quite a disappointment.

The gameplay still uses the ATB (active battle system) which is fine. My problem comes with the plot itself, which can be described with one word; linear. There's no freedom to be had at all apart from in the last third of the game with side missions (these come far too late). You have no option but to carry on with the main quest, there's no freedom or choice in the matter.

One thing I do like is the new paradigm system which bring more tactics to the battle. A paradigm is basically a role you can select for each character (i.e. basic attacker, healer, support spells, tank, etc).

I don't like the levelling system very much as just like the story it's very linear and there is no freedom until later on in the game.

Final Fantasy fans beware, this is a lot different from the other games in the main series. This might not be to everyones tastes, I suggest giving it a rent before buying.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Amazing

Oblivion is a very big open world RPG, filled with lots of different side quests and guilds. To start off with, you'll find yourself in jail until the emperor releases you, shorty after his assassination. After this you're free to do what you like. You can continue with the story and follow the main quest, or join one of the guilds (Thieves, Fighters, Mages and the Dark Brotherhood). There are also many side quests and hundreds of different locations (with hundreds of unique items available).

The skill system is complex and gives you lots of freedom in creating your character (there are three major types; warrior, mage and thief. These are customisable and there are many sub classes). You can also create your own spells and make enchantments for your weapons/armour.

There are a few downsides, the voice acting is poor and there are a few annoying glitches that can be encountered. Some people might have trouble casually getting into it as a "pick up and play" title.

In conclusion, this is my all time favourite RPG. IF you enjoy fantasy titles, RPG's or free roaming open worlds, get this game. It's also available for a fairly cheap price.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A fantastic shooter RPG, very expansive and gritty. Get the Game of the Year edition instead though

Fallout 3 is set in a post apocalyptic era in Washtingon DC. The setting is brilliant, the Capital Wasteland (the game world) is expansive and really gives you a sense of loneliness and survival, although it can be a little bland at times.

The combat is brilliant, there are a great number of weapons and the game also uses its unique VATS system where you can pause the game and select a body part of your enemy to target, which can be great fun!

The levelling system is decent and the quests and the story line are pretty good. One of the things that I love about this game is that you get the freedom to do what you like, you're not tied down to the main quest, there are a plethora of side quests and things to do.

If you like shooter RPGs then you must buy this game. The Game of the Year edition comes with five DLC expansions, so you should get that instead; you'll have alot of content to go through with many extra quests to play.
