Napster has ben a phemomen to all the million of die-hard fans all over the world. Its sucess has been outstanding. Ask just one of its regular users on how they can now live without this tool. The main obsticle in Napster is that it is most probabily going to be out-lawed by the colluding record companies. For those who haven`t heard of Napster, it is a tool which allows connectivity to other users hard-drives and searches their specified folders for MP3 encoded music files. I hold my hands up, the principle of napster is illegal. If you are one that downloads all of your music and gives none back or supports artist by not buying any CD`s then this makes a very strong case for the banning of Napster. i think it is a tool which is better used by previewing the music that you are after if you like it then buy it. Although the future of napster will probabily go the subscription route. Where a users pays a flat fee for access to the central servers. napster must have a business model in mind to activate at some point. It is a great idea, which one day will make someone millions, however Napster has a unsteady path ahead, and must figyht for survival. GOOD LUCK.
If you are like me who has sensitve skin, then I would really recommend that you use a aftershave balm. For me shaving has always been a nightmare, even with all these new high tech blades. They sure do cut the hair fine, but leave you feeling like you have third degree burns on you face. I was recommended Nivea aftershave balm, thinking that it was just another one of these products that make huge claims but don`t deliever on the goods. I was shocked when applied. It really feels like someone has got a hose on you face, cooling and soothing the skin. Give it ago, what have you to loose, only the pain and redness.
When the phone companies came up with the idea, I bet they didn`t know the phenomoninal success it was going to be ! When ever I need to contact somebody, where a full blown conversation is not required, SMS is the best tool. The best thing being if you activate delivery report, then you can make sure that the person has read it. However the downside is that some companies i think charge way too much for the service. up to 20p. So in some respects its just cheaper to make a call. It is a real money spinner for the network providers, and revenue amounts to millions of pounds a month. There is a way around it. If you are office based as I am, then you can use the Dooyoo web page to send a message for free. I can`t see the logic as too how you have to spend money on your handset, but get it totally free from some Web companies. Although I am not complaining !!! So thankyou Dooyoo for providing another excellent service.
I don`t claim to know alot about the way of life living in the countryside, or why the Pro hunters think that Fox hunting is the way forward. But I do know what is cruelty to animals is. I cannot see the logic of charging around the countryside on horseback with 20 - 30 dogs in pursuit of a single fox. Then watching the fox being torn to pieces. What a waste of life. Now if these people claim it is a tradition and a way of life, then i think that someone in Government should have the drive to re-educate these people in the way of life in the 21st century. If these animals are really a pest then humane pest control measure can be bought in. I`m sure a viable alternative can be thought of. These practises are blatently barbaric, and from the medieval times. This debate should not be happening now, but should have been carried out and implemented a long time ago. I feel it i only a matter of time it is actually banned. i just hope it is sooner than later.
I always was a fan of macdonalds as a kid, i remember my parents taking me their as a child, very occasionally, when i was good. (Although i was a good child). As the years went on and i got a bit more fussy with the food i ate, i found myself going there even less. I always remember the funny clown Ronald Macdonald holding a Big Mac. I always thought that the burger was full of meat. But I was amazed when i recently disected one. The thing is just full of bread. No wonder they can sell it cheap. In my opinion it is just a piece of edible food, which is full of good tasting sauce. If you have ever tried the meat on its own, it is completely tasteless. I wonder whats the point of putting it in in the first place, as theres so little of it. I know i am in the minority when it comes to dis-liking macdonalds, but if you ate one of ther burgers without the custom sauce in the burger you will opt for a real burger from another fast food outlet, where they cater real 1/4 pounders. However i do like the fries, and the apple pies. So its not a complete disaster if I find myself Sitting on one of there tables.
I have been using BTinternet now for the past six months. From my experience so far it hasn?t really performed that badly.. Before BT came out with this £9.99 package I was with a whole host of other supposedly free ISP?s. All of them, at that time, had a similar service to what I am receiving now with BT. The others I was paying at least five times more in phone bills alone. I?m not here to fool anyone, it could be better, much better. The download speeds can at times be really frustrating occasionally (very rarely) you get booted off before the statutory two hour limit. To date I have never had any problems with logging on. If the first attempt fails the second attempt has always worked for me. For the price it?s the best around at the moment in my opinion. It can only get better and cheaper I hope.
I began to use jobserve a few months before I graduated from University just to see what was out there and where I will be headed in the real world. As i was doing a IT degree it turned out the perfect place to look as all the jobs are for this sector. If you are looking for something in another market then I would sugeest someone like Stepstone. At first I was astounded by the amount of new postings that were appearing on it everyday. They had literally hundereds of vacancies for teleccoms, programming, networking i guess you get the message. So as soon as i finished my last exam I prepared a good well written C>V and began to apply for the jobs. This part is really easy. I would sit and narrow the search down to jobs posted that day and in the sector I wanted to work. Then all you do is click on the selected vacancy and it will give you further information about it. One thing that you will see if you use it is that 99% of all jobs are through a agency. What you would have to do is either give them a call or e-mail the person directly. I would use a mixture of the two. Emailing and telephoning. Another feature jobserve offers is to directly e-mail you every morning a list of jobs that you are looking for. All you have to do is send them a e-mail with keywors, e.g engineer or implementation analyst, and they will forward jobs with those keywords. Its great if you can`t get on the internet, i.e at work. I must have been one of the lucky ones as I secured a job within one week of activly jobseeking. Of course jobserve will not give you a job, but it will make hunting one down a lot easier.
My last holiday i went on was to the carribean. We flew from heathrow to Miami atayed over for a night and then went to the Turks & Caicos islands for 7 nights. (Read my review in travel/The turks % Caicos). And then finally finished our holiday over in the Bahamas. A Week before we flew i was contacted and told that my tickets were ready for collection from the agent that i had booked them through. Once I had picked them up I was really impresed with the presentation pack that came with it. There was a complete inventory of flights times and places to be. All this in a durable stylish wallet. Once we reached our destinations there were a Kuoni reps to meet us at the airports and take us to our hotels. The taxi fares were all pre paid. That is the level of detail this company had gone to make sure that our honeymoon was spot on. The hotels where better than they described in there brochere. They had even arranged for us to get upgraded at everyone of our hotels. On the whole I could honestly say that every penny I spent of that holiday was well worth it. On the whole Kuoni had well thought out its package. I would never hesitate to use them again.
I was told of this site by a friend only about a month ago. At first i didn`t believe him, when he said "Its free, it really is". I thought nothing is free. So being the sceptic I am, I tried to palm off the whole thing. However throughout the day it kept creeping back into my mind. FREE LOTTERY FREE LOTTERY FREE LOTTERY. With nothing to do a a computer sitting in front of me which was incidentally already online. I punched the Keys and i was directed to the Bananalotto website. Yes it does say FREE but i bet there's a catch i again thought to myself. I signed up without a problem and it didn`t ask for my credit card. Thats a good start !! At this point i was invited to enter my first set of six of numbers. You have to press on one of the links on the page which directs you to one of there sponsers. Thank heavens none of them are porn sites. A little window to the side also opens indicating you to wait until the numbers are entered. About five seconds later, you close the little banalotto window and press the back key on your browser software. Once you are at the banalotto website you repaet the process twice more. This gives you a grand total of three entries into one prize draw. And best of all I haven't payed a single penny towards it. After a wile it does get annoying being directed to other web pages but hey, i guess they got to generate there revenue from somewhere. Over the past month i have one three times. O.K its only £1.50 and i definatly am not going to throw in my job but you never know. The jackpot is a cool million. The best thing is they actually do pay out. I have recieved three cheques for fifty pence each only this morning. I guess i`ll keep playing for now.
I was one of the last lucky students who went to university backed up by my LEA grant. I do know that if i was going to university today there would be no way that i would have been able to get a Degree. I didn`t spend all of my money on drink and fags as most people think that students do. I must admit there were a few drunken nights, and generally I did have a good time but thats part of student life, and makes you the person you are when you leave. I came from a typical working class family and even then the grants weren`t massive. I couldn`t really ask my parents for more money so the only option I did have when things started to get tight was to pay a visit to the university loans rep. Before i knew it i had been given my maximum loan and a huge chunk of money was sitting in my bank account. I was told i wouldn`t have to pay it back until i was earning a certain amount and there is no intrest on it. This all fair, but the bottom line is you do have to pay it back some day. And inflation is about 3% which does amount to a few hundred pounds over the time you finish uni. At the time i got th loan i thought no problem i`ll be able to pay that back in my first wage. You never account for living cost when you actually hit the real world. I took out two loans i i find them a real pain to pay back. I feel real sorry for those who have to take out the maximum loans today as they are huge. I`m sure they are going to take many years to pay back in some cases. My real problem is with this so called peoples government. I must admit i did vote for them. I would imagine that most of them went to uni on grants awarded to them. I have to ask the question why are they not giving students the same chance they had in life. Maybe if they had channelled the £800m that was initially earmarked for the Dome there would never have been this problem today of higher education funding gone completely up the wall !!
I must admit I was a little sceptical when I saw the trailer to this film, and passed the film off pre-judging it being rubbish. Having seen films before with an Asian theme I thought I probably have seen it all before. How wrong was I !!! My wife forced me into seeing it, I was thinking I could be watching the footy or Sky movies. However at the end of the film I found myself thanking her for making me watch it. The Film is not the run of the mill typical Asian love story with a few funny bits, but about a family who is "Anglo British". They are growing up in the north of England facing the torment of trying to walk the fine line of western life, against their fathers wish for them to follow the traditional Muslim way of life. Behind the funny moments of this film their does lie a serious story line, which probably affected teenagers in their predicament back in the 60`s & 70`s. The film strong points are being the characters and the dazzling performances the actors the actors have giving in portraying them. I would say that this is what made this film the success it is. I will be honest you won?t split your ribs laughing at this one but you will certainly be kept well amused throughout. I won?t go through the story line but those of you who haven?t seen it I would strongly suggest that you spend an evening viewing it. I?m sure there are much worse things you have you could do for the 92 minutes the film runs.
I had a one2one mobile for about three years and I never had a problem with it. Other than them always having out dated phones for their network. Other than that I virtually never got a network busy sign or no service in and around the London area. For the reason I wanted a better looking phone and not wanting to pay through the nose for one, I decided to change networks to vodafone. As everyone knows the vodafone have the biggest and best network in the country or so we?re told! And of course they do always have a large selection of subsidised phones you can get when you sign up to a new contract. So I thought I?m not on contract to one2one anymore, let?s get another phone smart little phone. How foolish was I, when I think back now. The reason why I have this opinion is when I?m sitting at home, I have to press the send button about 20 times before I get access on to the network. As I live near Heathrow airport my nearest antenna is in the airport. There just isn?t enough capacity to cover the passengers as well as the residential area. I don?t just get this problem where I live but all the time. It is really annoying. I am also experiencing a lot more dropped calls as well as people telling me the can never get through to me. I have tried other handsets but to no satisfactory result. Now do you see my problem? It is a marketing ploy that when Vodafone says its frequencies can travel further so as to give better coverage. In reality this is true. But if you can imagine the antenna as an umbrella and the coverage as its skin, Then all you would get is more people underneath it. Hence if the all tried to make a call at the same time there just isn?t enough space in that umbrella for all of them. This is why one2one is better suited to a high population environment. It high frequency doesn?t travel as far as Vodafone`s so it needs more antennas. Lots of small umbrellas can support more people. It?s a fact. But still I do have a nice looking phone eve n though the network it?s connected to is questionable.
I was a little bit wary when the sales man down at Comet persuaded me that this was a very good machine. i had always purchased Hotpoints. Even though we had years of good troublr free use from these, i was put off from all the bad publicity, at the time, of them supposidly chewing clothes on a regular basis. So after finding out that buying a washing machine was no easy matter, i took on the advice of the young chap at the shop and bought the Bosch. The first thing that struck me when I put the first load into it, was that it didn`t shake the house down. This is the most quietist machine i have ever heard up until that point. For those of you who like gadgets and lots of buttons to press, this machine has them. Although I wouldn`t say that it is gimicky. There are controls to wash your clothes programs such as Coloureds, Easy-care, Whites, and Wool. Also the usual half-load, heavy soil and delayed start. What i really like is the the fast spin speed can be controlled. You can vary it up to a maximum of 1000RPM. This high speed comes in handy when you realy want the clothes to come out fairly dry, although they can be stuck together. (Nothing a crow-bar wouldn`t solve !!) On the whole I have been using this machine three times a week for the past three years and not a problem yet. Fingers crossed !!!!
The films of Tim Burton shines through the muck like a jack-o-lantern on a foggy October night. After such successes as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands, it should come as no surprise that Sleepy Hollow is a dazzling film, a execellent reworking of Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Dark and moody, the film is a thrilling ride back to the turn of the 19th century. Johnny Depp stars as Ichabod Crane, a seemingly hapless constable from New York City who is sent to the small town of Sleepy Hollow to solve the mystery of the decapitations that are plaguing the town. Crane is a bumbling sort, with a tremendous faith in science over mysticism, and he comes up against town secrets, bewitching women, and a number of bodies missing heads. Christina Ricci, as beautiful as ever, is Katrina Van Tassel, the offbeat love interest who alternately charms and frightens Crane. The film, while occasionally gory (as one should expect from a movie about a headless horseman), is not terribly frightening, although it is suspenseful. Both Depp and Ricci are convincing, and the art direction and production values give the village its harsh feel. Toward the end, once the secrets are revealed, the film does slow down; however, this stylistic horror film provides many tricks and even more treats
Gary and Martin Kemp star in this brutally stark account of the absolute rulers of Londons' Eastend underworld through their reign of terror in the 1950's and 60's. This movie is superbly acted by two powerful performances from its two leading actors as well as featuring an outstanding supporting performance from Billie Whitelaw in the role of the Krays' mother. The film loses its depth on one or two occasions but gladly violence is not an intrusive part to the film as was predicted by some critics. of course the scenes of violence that are in the film are of the most darkest and brutal nature. All in all this emerges as one of the best gangster films in many years and was rightly praised by critics for its outstanding acting and beleavable dialogue.
