We got this as a wedding present - it wasn't on our list, but what a great choice! This is one of the lucky kitchen appliances that gets to sit out on the workbench. I use this to cook meat, toasted sandwiches pan ins, grill vegetables. It is very versatile. I love the chargrilled lo it gives the food. There is also something very satisfying about being able to throw out the 'fat' - when cooking the meat, the fat runs out and is collected in a tray for disposal. Some may say this would leave the meat very dry but to be honest, it really hasn't been an issue for me. In saying that, I was never a fan of shallow/deep frying, and yes, there probably is no substitute to the moist, succulent meat you get from slow oven cooking. But let's be honest - most of us don't have time to slow cook our meat every day.
It's fine to clean. The only problem is that the plates aren't removable so you can 't lift them off to clean them in the sink.
It has a timer so you don't need to worry about burning your meat!
All in all, a great product and a great simple way to try and reduce the amount of fat in our diets. Thanks again George!
I got this coffee machine over a year ago along with the matching kettle and toaster.
This looks fantastic. It is very stylish and looks great sitting beside it's matching appliances. It's available in red, black and cream - possibly more. We opted for the cream and I have to say, over a year later I still think they look great. So for style, this wins top points.
I love coffee...good coffee. My coffee of choice is an americano. This machine gives a lovely crema to the coffee and I can't complain about the coffee quality - of course a lot depends on the actual blend of coffee you use. As I don't drink lattes or cappuccinos I can't really comment on the frothing wand. I have used it a couple of times to make coffee for friends and seems to work well for a small machine.
I think with any cup of nice coffee there comes a little pain in the cleaning up - coffee grinds are annoying! However, I think this machine is very easy to clean. There are no especially awkward bits and so I'm pretty happy.
The biggest negative I would have to say is the noise - this machine is noisy!! It sounds like it's getting ready to fly off my worktop! That asides, for coffee quality - no complaints!
My husband got this iPad a few months ago (I'm using it right now!). To be honest, I was sceptical...I was thinking, we don't need that - we have a laptop and a netbook, what do we need an iPad for, it's just like a big phone??!!! How I have changed!!! I LOVE THIS IPAD!!! Yes, ok so maybe we didn't exactly NEED it but would I return it - not a chance!!!!! I use it all the time. It loads instantly, the graphics are fantastic - I find it much easier to read off an iPad than I do from our other laptops. It's very user friendly and there are some amazing apps out there. There's really not much that it can't do- and do well! It's probably not my first port of call yet for word processing however I have been told that if i buy a remote keyboard and download software then it will be every bit as good for writing assignments, compiling presentations as any other computer.
I do not in any way claim to be a computer whizz, but from the point of view of someone who uses their computer A LOT, I cannot recommend this product highly enough. The only negative point I would have is that the camera isn't the greatest quality. Asides from that, I really have had no issues with this computer. The battery life is also really good.
I can't quite remember exactly how much I paid for this Hoover, but I do know it was on sale with quite a large reduction (perhaps this should have been a warning?)
This Hoover is marketed towards homes with pets for great suction on pet hair. We do not have a pet, but when I see it struggle to pick up crumbs I wonder at it's supposedly wonderful ability and de-dog haring carpets!!! Unfortunately I have to completely agree with the other two reviews on this product. This is not a good Hoover. It has extremely poor suction, as as one of member noted, you have to constantly clean the filters or you really will struggle to Hoover anything. I have recently purchased a Henry Hoover and am delighted with it...worlds apart and definitely worth the extra money. If you are reading this at least you're doing the right thing and checking reviews - there is little more frustrating than a Hoover that doesn't Hoover!
I used to use more expensive brands of make up but after returning from 4 months of a once in a lifetime travelling holiday, I had to watch the pennies and move to a cheaper brand. I opted for The rim el long lasting foundation and have been very impressed!
I find this a very real ably priced product and great value for money. I do not feel like I'm using a cheaper brand.
This offers great coverage and evens out skin tone really well. I do not have a big issue with spots so I can't really comment on how good it is at covering them. I have quite flushed cheeks - visible capillaries, and it gives a very smooth, even finish.
I find it lasts really well. Admittedly not quite as perfect at the end of the day as other more expensive brands I have used, however, for the price I think it lasts very well indeed.
I initially used the darker, natural beige shade as I was tanned (a distant memory now!!!) and it was a brilliant tone. When the tan faded and I went to buy a lighter tone, I found it more difficult, and I find the shade down from natural beige a little too light.
I have yet to find a deodorant that actually keeps me dry, and this one has not won that battle either. However, in my opinion, it is the best out of all I have tried. This mainly comes down to smell. I find that most deodorants I use smell like toilet cleaner! I'm amazed at how many brands and varieties there are that smell awful!
We bought this in the cream version, with matching toaster and coffee maker. It is a pretty standard kettle when you look at it's features - Rapid boil jug kettle, 360 degree swivel base ( I.e. There is no specific position at which you must place the kettle onto the base), 1.7 L water capacity.
I definitely purchased this kettle for it's style!!! It is absolutely stunning, at at the time of choosing, was by far the nicest choice. We were a newly married couple and so I wanted to buy matching appliances - this range stole my heart!!
I would not rate this good value for money. It's expensive, but if like me, you want style, then it's necessary to pay more money to branch out from the 'plastic' models.
It has worked well until now. It does boil quickly, and is definitely an improvement on my previous £5 kettle which I joked took so long to boil I could shower and dress in the same time it took to boil the water for my morning cuppa!! however, there is quite a price gap between £5 and £60, and i am quite confident that there are many kettles within this price range that are equally as 'rapid boil' as my expensive model. The main disappointment has come recently - it has started to leak!!!!! An issue I never had with my £5 version!!!
Price paid: £369.99
This is a review of the Pentax K-r with 18-55mm lens and optical zoom 3. It has 12.4 megapixels and a 3" LCD viewing screen as well as high speed 6 frames per second continuous shooting.
I am an entry level photographer. I have been taking photos on a recreational basis for about a year and have borrowed friends Digital SLR cameras on weekends. I have been looking to buy a camera for about 6 months and have read review after review....exhausting! I finally took the plunge and invested in this Pentax K-r, and I do not regret it!!
This camera produces the high quality pictures you would expect from an SLR. It has a lot of features, so there are many options to explore and develop your photography skills. I find the menu options very easy to navigate and I think it is very accessible for people moving on from a compact camera. The camera is very comfortable to hold, and I felt instantly 'at home' with it.
Having had experience of using my friends camera's - one a Nikon and the other a Canon, I do not regret my choice of a Pentax. Comparatively speaking, I believe the Pentax is excellent value for money.
There is no HDMI port
May not be suitable for advanced photographers.
At last, I am proud to say I am the owner of Henry!!! After going through a few alternative vacuum cleaners - enticed by ones on special offer I always regretted not buying Henry!! The suction on the other vacuum cleaners I have owned have very quickly faded and I been left frustrated at how many times I had to Hoover the same area. My mum and aunt have had Henry's for years and I am still impressed by their suction after many years of use. My previous workplace (a busy coffee shop) also used this Hoover. The only drawback I can possibly imagine being an issue with Henry is that the suction is so strong that it may be quite 'heavy' work for some people - however there is a 'vent' on the hose that can be opened to reduce some of the suction. It is difficult to list the sheer amount of suction as a negative as it is exactly what I love about this product!! I would most definitely recommend this, and have done!!!!
